The story was okay. I cannot understand why in so many romance novels a fake relationship seems to be the solution to some problem. This fake marriage solution seems outsized. A fake relationship sans marriage would have worked for this pair. The fact that they have both been in love with each other for years but neither has the courage to broach the topic of a change in relationship status from friend to lovers may add to the story line but if this was real I would have to wonder why. I know of several relationships that successfully advanced to romance that started out as friendships.
Now here are a few gripes I have about the book. It is annoying when authors put forth inconsistencies in their stories. Early in the story Bridgette's eyes are described as deep blue. When she is hospitalized after an accident and Aaron visits, her eyes are described as amber and then 2 pages later they are back to being deep blue. When they are on their honeymoon they have to take an elevator to a top floor honeymoon suite, then on the next page they have a door from the suite that opens onto a deck that leads to the beach and the pool, then later they are entering the elevator to get to the suite again to be followed by having the deck again. I was left wondering if the author was writing 2 books at the same time and confusing her settings. Also she uses the same adverbs in a sentence twice frequently. Also there is an auxiliary character named Arvin who is later identified as Alvin. These sloppy editing and writing errors make the read less enjoyable.

Match Made on Ice by Tyla Walker is the story of Bridgette and Aaron. They have been best friends since childhood. Now grown, Bridgette has recently lost her beloved grandmother, who raised her after her to bit good for nothing father dropped her off at his mother's house. Now that she is dead, Bridgette's father has come slithering back to try and take the house her grandmother left her. Aaron is a major league hockey player who is living the life of a player. When he is getting more bad press than good, Bridgette, who is a PR person for his hockey team, comes up with a proposal. She needs help with her greedy dad, and Aaron's reputation can use some work, so what better way to make this happen than best friends from childhood getting married. There is just one problem. When drafting the contract, there was a clause stating they could not fall in love. However, they each have been harboring feelings for each other every since they we teens. This was quite the story. It was cute, and it was funny seeing the two of them trying to keep their relationship platonic. The sexual tension between the two was thick enough to cut it with a knife. Everyone saw the attraction between the two. Heck, everyone associated with the team was participating in a poll regarding their relationship. There was a little bit of everything going on in this story. 4 stars for me

Had Potential

I finished reading this book in hopes that it would get but, it didn't. I like the fake marriage, friends to lovers concept but I thought she married Aaron to provide some type of protection from her father. Which Aaron provided none. I was waiting for him to break out his alpha male proctectivenes towards his Bridgette or at least become her hero, but nada. So really the fake marriage was for nothing which made the entire story pointless. And the people after her father which caused her to fall down the stairs was all just too much. The story had potential but veered too far off for me to enjoy the book.

From BFFs to everything

Aaron had the rep of being a playboy. Bridgette, his bff since childhood is having trouble with her deadbeat sperm donor who does everything to swindle her out of her inheritance. As friends do, they plot to solve the problem. Marriage is the only thing that comes up to keep her selfish sperm donor from harassing her. How ironic that the actions of the sperm donor causes the two BFFs to admit what they were afraid of admitting to each other that they were in love with each other and now have the family and HEA they always yearned for.

A Wondrous Match

This has to be one of the most beautifully crafted books that I have the pleasure of reading. Match Made On Ice, is on total point. The characterizations are wonderfully detailed and well developed.

The chemistry between these two friends is truly outstanding. Who else can say, that they are both a ride or die and boo? Hot and sexy…

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It was a bit of road made longer by poor communication for Aaron and Bridgette to finally admit they love each other. Both wanted to protect their friendship that almost cost them their love. I'm glad the one causing problems for them is in jail now.

Aaron and Bridgette are lifelong friends, and she is always cleaning up his messes. When a scandal gets out of hand and Bridgette has an issue as well a fake marriage will solve their problems but when feelings get real will Bridgette lose her heart to Aaron.

Hockey Love 💙

When best friends finally admit their love for each other it becomes a whirlwind of love, except the heroine’s father puts a damper on their HEA! The hurdles they have to overcome-restraining order against her dad, his leaking their fake marriage which becomes real, public humiliation and more!💚🦋

Ridiculous

Nope! Anything two people could go through, this couple did at every turn. I did not like this story!!! It was like the author just randomly through things in to make a book/story. Then, to have a picture at the front of the book of the female lead, only to read the book for her to be described as totally different. Waste of time on my part for downloading.

2.25 stars. (BW/WM). Kindle Edition $2.99, 211 page e-book.

Setting: A city in the USA to a resort in Jamaica and a return to the city in America.

Trope: Childhood friends to lovers. Marriage of convenience. Disputed inheritance.

Characters:
1. Bridgette Maddison, heroine, is a PR manager for the hockey team of the hero.
2. Aaron Jamison, hero, is the NHL star player of said hockey team.
3. Lucille Maddison is the decease grandmother of Bridgette
4. Monty Maddison is the estranged deadbeat father of Bridgette.
5. Eric is Aaron's best friend and teammate.
6. Michelle is Bridgette's friend and lawyer.
7. Lucille Jamison is the daughter of Aaron and Bridgette.

This childhood friends to lovers story started well and I was looking forward to a good read; but as the storyline progressed, my hopes dissipated. As is often with this trope, Aaron and Bridgette had been secretly longing for each other for years; but out of fear of losing each other, neither never acted on this attraction. The facade for the marriage is laughable: To separate a group of women struggling with each other for his attention, Playboy Aaron accidentally pushes one which results in Aaron being involved in another scandal. He is in need of a wife to calm the man whore waters and Bridgette is in need of a strong forceful white knight to save her form her annoying father. One element of this contract forbids already in love people from falling in love. The storyline gets more and more ridiculous as it moves along. While on their honeymoon, women flock to Aaron like flies to sh-t and some handsome stranger hits on Bridgette and somehow they leave the confines of the karaoke bar and appear outside under palms with Bridgette appearing to resist his advances. Aaron punches the guy and Arron and Bridgette run to their hotel and have mind numbing sex. Later their ruse is discovered along with other drama there are hints of Aaron cheating. The third act break-up is crazy stupid followed by a quick resolve and Aaron's and Bridgette's re-re marriage and their HEA.
