okay yeah i hate to lock in because of mention of dr. strange but i’m fucking in lol the quality control of the ultimate comics has just been so good. just perfectly drip fed calibrated stories. it’s been a minute since i’ve followed so many comics at once and i am so into ultimate marvel rn lol
The great art, the marvelous narrative, the POVs and the colors are supporting this issue, which offers some developments in war and understanding of vibranium but misses out on the rhythm for creating the clash between Gods and Kings.
The cover is awesome but that’s the only Moon Knight you’re going to get as he doesn’t actually appear in this issue, we had a small moment with him and his brother last issue but the one before that was perfect. It had a confrontation with Black Panther, I can’t believe he just smacked him and made him bleed, then Moon Knight just walked away proclaiming war is to come. There wasn’t a huge clash or anything, just a short and sweet moment, we do seem to be getting quite a few time skips.
Even in this something happens to T’Challa and then boom a few days go by without us knowing what actually happened, I thought it was a dream because of how things played out but no it was actually real. I did quite like the fever dream mystical side of things, we know T’Challa has had a power up but we aren’t quite sure what the limits are, he seems connected to the Vibranium which is really cool. Cause as nice as having the suit and kinetic wave, he hasn’t really got much of an arsenal especially since Moon Knight got the alchemy power up so it’ll be interesting to see what it evolves into.
The Wakandans rising up against T’Challa and the mind control is an interesting concept but I kind of liked it when Moon Knight was tricking the citizens into thinking he’s good, it was just a lot more compelling. Like saving the kid, you can understand why people would follow him with that but now it’s mind control it just feels generic.
