Blood Slave: Nibiru Vampire Warriors #3

Nibiru Vampire Warriors - Chapter Three

Rate this book
In the third chapter of Blood Slave, nothing on this alien planet is as it appears to be. Danger and death lurk at every turn. Zero discovers new and frightening aspects to Stride, even as he finds himself more and more hopelessly ensnared by the voracious vampire.

Chapter Three sees Zero taken captive in a terrifying underground warren for blood slaves. He encounters a surprising jailer in charge of ‘milking’ the blood donors for the vampire queen. Zero seems doomed to a painful fate until he is rescued by Stride.

On the run now from his captors who badly want Zero’s blood, the two vampires find deadly traps with almost every step. Even so, Zero alternately resists and embraces Stride’s sexual dominance. Becoming lovers finally, their passion rages quickly, but soon turns to panic with their savage jailer hot on their trail. The strange planet on which they have become stranded reveals new and increasingly weird elements, including a huge passenger ship on which they sail to safety...or do they?

This third chapter in the increasingly tumultuous adventures of Zero, the somewhat conflicted blood slave, and Stride, the ever-tough macho guy, resolves the first of the many story threads. Zero and Stride finally become lovers. Of a sort. Which is why saying something is ‘resolved’ was a bit presumptuous – as I discovered by the end of this chapter. Still, hope springs eternal...

Zero ends up needing help from Stride – which totally galls him. I continue to love the way these two play off each other – both of them are strong personalities, not likely to give in anytime soon. That is good in terms of making sure the events keep me on the edge of my seat. My inner romantic suffers more and more with each instalment. How can these guys not see they are ideal for each other? I mean, who else is going to put up with Stride’s abruptness? Zero might seem an easier guy to get along with, but he has lots of issues. Only a strong and self-confident man like Stride will be able to deal with them.

However, I fear we will be made to wait until the very last chapter to see any of this truly solved. What became clear in this chapter is that Stride’s mother, the Vampire Queen, is one hell of an enemy, is nasty and disgusting beyond my ability to describe (you’ll have to read the serial to find out HOW nasty – yuck!), and she will not give up. And the end? Just as tantalizingly cliffhanger-y as the other two. I’m certainly glad I don’t have a heart condition... yet!

If you like to have your preconceptions about vampires turned inside out, your world turned upside down, and enjoy suffering through mind-boggling events, you will definitely like this part of the story. As ever, I can’t wait to find out what’s next.
