Champion of Sennh #1

Last Champion of the Gods

Rate this book
Welcome to your life. There's no turning back.

Waylaid on his way to the afterlife, Gary Halbrecht is given the offer of a lifetime – accept the honour of becoming a Champion of the Gods and be resurrected in another world with newfound powers and the gods’ blessings at his fingertips. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

Unfortunately for Gary, the only god left to bestow her power on him is Sennh, Goddess of Lust.

Arriving in a new world with little but the clothes on his back, a set of below-average physical and mental attributes and a surprisingly high Charisma score, Gary’s going to have to put in some effort to keep a roof over his head in the city of Earlygrave, never mind becoming a successful adventurer – either that, or he’ll need to find some decent exploits to game the world’s system in his favour.

Between brokering peace with local farmers and the neighbouring goblin tribe raiding their land, chasing a bounty on a dire bear the size of a freight train, negotiating rent with a crafty brothel madam and trying to teach his motley group of companions some basic table manners, our makeshift hero has his work cut out for him. Maybe he’ll even end up fighting a dragon somewhere along the line.

And for that matter, just where in the world is this Succubus Queen that he’s supposed to defeat?

Last Champion of the Gods is a lighthearted LitRPG fantasy adventure with some slice of life moments, unconventional relationships, a goblin girl who chews with her mouth open and a touch of romance. It is intended for 18+ audiences and contains some explicit (and spicy) scenes.

This book was pretty good, but not great. I was sick while reading it, so I ended up putting it down about every half hour as my head would swim, but I was able to pick it back up easily enough.

The MC dies and is given another chance by a goddess of lust on another dimension. He agrees to become her champion, and ends up starting as an adventurer. Being that he's a champion of lust, there is a lot of sex in the book, and relationships are surface level at best. And he has a cheat code class ability.

The women are diverse, but all affected by his insanely high charisma and seduction abilities. His harem is at least 3, maybe 5, including a succubus woman and her succubus daughter. That twosome joins late in a threesome that isn't described or Amazon would boot the book. The other 3 are diverse enough, but they are in love after little time. Everything is surface level.

The book is decently written, with few errors noticed. There is hints of a future book, and I might read it.

It's porn with extra steps, I made it to 5 chapters and threw it in the trash. Not even erotica, reads like the cringe SA adjacent novels online, the MC's FIRST skill is a roofie...he then uses it to "seduce" the first person/women the he comes across, this is going the borderline mind control route, gross.

Simple and fantastic

Very straightforward book. It had many funny and cute moments, I would have liked a little more description of the spice, especially at the end. Overly a very lovely, feel-good book. I love that our MC truly embraced not fighting and talking things out.

Good clean fun

Great characters and a silly lighthearted storyline. The main character is nothing like a normal hero. He's caring but not overly romantic. The girls a light without the deep dark backstory.

I wanted to really like this book. The prose, general story structure, and setting were all fairly well done. But I just found myself cringing every time the protagonist and love interests spoke to each other. Things moved far too fast, and feelings developed for far too little reason, and beyond that the love interests all felt very flat. Still an enjoyable book, but it wasn't what it could have been.
