A.J. Llewellyn lives in California, but dreams of living in Hawaii. Frequent trips to all the islands, bags of Kona coffee in the fridge and a healthy collection of Hawaiian records keep this writer refueled.
A.J’s passion for the islands led to writing a play about the last ruling monarch of Hawaii, Queen Lili’uokalani as well as a non-erotic novel about the overthrow of her kingdom written in diary form from her maid’s point of view.
A.J. never lacks inspiritation for male/male erotic romances and on the rare occasion this happens, pursues other passions such as collecting books on Hawaiiana, surfing and spending time with friends and animal companions.
A.J. Llewellyn believes that love is a song best sung out loud.
The separation that Stride and Zero go through becomes really heart wrenching in this tenth chapter. They both miss each other, and even though it doesn’t make it easier (yet), I was glad that Zero managed to overcome the wiping of his memory Stride tried to impose on him. At least that leaves some hope they will make it back together – just enough to keep me going.
Stride may not really admit it, but his new life as Lord of the Underworld is less than thrilling. He feels he has no choice if he wants to keep his evil mother under control, and the lengths he goes to made me hate her even more. Can’t say it exactly made me like Stride any better, but I suppose that may have been the point of this chapter. In a way, it replicated in me what Zero goes through, how his view of Stride changes, and I admire how well AJ and DJ pulled that off. The fact Stride now has a son is interesting and will surely lead to more misery and complications, but I can’t say I like the way he got there!
Zero goes through hell in his own way. I was very grateful that he remembers Stride and starts finding his way back to his lover – never mind what Stride may think is best. The fact that he ends up finding out more than he wanted – and still cannot get to Stride – had me glued to the pages. I have no idea where all of this will lead – but the fact that Zero becomes a central linchpin in Stride’s plan to save his son makes everything even more interesting. Zero’s devotion to Stride and his stubborn insistence of seeing the good in him continues to be very touching.
With only three chapters to go, the ride can only get wilder. I am buckling my proverbial seat belt as I write this. Bring it on!!! If you like men who continue to fight for what they want, never mind the circumstances, if you like surprises and new twists in the story on almost every page and if suspense is your thing, you will probably love this chapter of the serial as much as I did.
