Brielle
After the harrowing events Brielle has endured during her long-time hunting and defeating the being responsible for her mother’s death, she finally sees a glimmer of hope and happiness shining through her dark memories.
Or so she thought.
Brielle’s nightmares of her time in Lilith’s cave consume her while Azra looks tirelessly for the reason her powers have yet to return. Brielle is completely unaware something more sinister lurks around every corner during her best friend’s visit to the Forsaken.
Formidable secrets become unveiled, putting them all in danger and leaving Brielle near death.

Andrea
Dormant pieces of Andrea are awakening in the Forsaken with the help of an unlikely partner who sets her soul ablaze within his shadowy clutches. Though she can hardly handle the flame within when he is near, she is oblivious to her effects on his frozen heart as it slowly thaws.
Andrea will have to face revelations she has been running from her entire life that leave her questioning her true identity. Now that an unknown threat jeopardizes the lives of the ones she loves, she will do everything she can to put an end to it.
Even if that means walking right into peril.

Divine Retribution by Lexes L. Saia is the second book in the series and just as amazing as the first, Divine Wickedness. This book still involves fallen angels. However, there is now witches and magic as the main mystical component. There is a small bit of enemies-to-lovers, forbidden lovers, and soulmates in every life tropes.
The plot of this book revolves around Brielle and her best friend Andrea. Brielle is still recovering from her stint in Lilith’s lair and seeing Azra die. Andrea visits the Forsaken and finds out a lot about herself that she knew deep down but not consciously. She found out she was a witch from a long thought dead bloodline and was the only one who could save Brielle. Along the way Andrea must decide whether to give into her impulses of wanting Ash who is familiar to her somehow.
My favorite thing about Divine Retribution is the exploration of the world that Lexes L. Saia is building. You are able to understand more about the fallen angels and their powers. There’s now witches and the whole backstory to the Morveaux witches. Nephilims are explained and why they are considered so dangerous. You actually get to interact more with the Forsaken citizens and fall in love with Willow like Brielle does. Vampires are seen as possible allies instead of just the vicious creatures like they were in Divine Wickedness.
My least favorite thing about this book is that some parts felt slow. I know it was to build up to big scenes or revelations. I just felt like it could have been done in a different way.
I rated this story a 4 out of 5. I loved the plot and all the spice along with the different characters. I love the reincarnation of Caroline and the plot twists along the story. The only reason it wasn’t 5 stars was because of some of the pacing as I stated before.

First off....a cliffhanger???? Really Lexes 😭😂.

Wow!!!! This story had me hooked from page one to the end!!

The story begins with Brielle's best friend Andrea coming to visit her in the Forsaken and having her first experience with the lovely Ash (he's a feisty one lol). He believes she's someone he used to love and has to watch himself around her because he can't control what he does.

Andrea has never really had a connection with anyone before and the one she feels she may have with Ash....may end up being what hurts her in the end.

Our favorite couple Brielle and Azra are still amazing!!! Their smexy scenes...phew. Brielle, that poor girl has so much on her plate, at times I just hurt for her. Azra is trying to figure out what's going on with her powers, while still trying to be the powerful King he is.

The twists and turns were amazing. I honestly didn't expect them, and they had me saying wtf????

Vampires possibly being allies? Witches now being added to the story? And plot twists???

I highly recommend this book. Check out book one Divine Wickedness if you haven't read that first.

ARC REVIEW

Let’s be so serious right now for a moment. Why was I hating her a lot of the times in this book. I once again had my heart crushed, and I didn’t really know how to react because of it.

The way I am so in love with Andrea and the selfless attitude she had. There was one moment that I was a little bit confused on, but then it kind of made sense. I am still upset with Brielle though.

The spice from one of the couples, the mouth of one of the men, and the secrets revealed had me ready to just love this man! I’m so happy we got the different POV‘s in this book because it made it that much more exciting. I would have even loved if the book was longer , but that’s also the delusion part inside of me that thinks that I could read books lol

The cliffhanger had me going back to read another chapter over again and I am not sure what I’m going to expect in book 3 but I definitely do know that shit is going to get wild

This one broke me and put me back together. Ash 😭 ugh I cannot wait to see what comes of him in the next book. There was A LOT to take in with this one but it was so so good. There was a twist I did not see coming with Andrea but loved it so much!

What can I say..this book had me crying one moment and the next smiling because something happened, and it was just the best emotional roller-coaster! This book has angels..vampires and witches..all the best action and the spice is habanero! Andrea is Brielles' best friend and her journey trying to figure herself out, and she just never feels a connection with anyone until the most unlikely spark happens between a certain someone (I won't spoil it but you MUST read this book!) Andrea is the best friend we all need in our life and she's a survivor! This does leave on a cliffhanger, and I can not wait for the next book already!
