Divine Arrows

just… wow.
i went into this book nervous. people kept calling it dark romance and i was preparing myself mentally, spiritually, emotionally — only to realize that label is completely wrong. this is not dark romance. the only thing dark here is the underworld itself, the trials, and the slow, devastating unraveling of everything these characters were taught to believe.
and honestly? that made it better.
i could not put this book down. i kept telling myself “one more chapter” and suddenly it was far too late and i was emotionally attached to people who do not exist. special shoutout to BookBub for giving me this ebook for free because now i am morally obligated to buy the rest of the series immediately.
this book felt like wonder. like quiet ache.

she serves as an archer for the gods alongside her sister aerith, killing dark creatures to keep the world “balanced.” but everything fractures when the moon goddess jorrah gives her an impossible task.

Elaia, you have left me speechless, sitting here and collecting pieces of my broken heart. When I read the blurb, I knew I would like this story, but nothing could've prepared me for the emotions I have felt reading Divine Arrows.
Divine Arrows is Book 1 in the Celestial Archers series, and I fell in love with the characters from page one. I loved the world-building and how you showed all the intricacies, both good and bad. The religious oppression, false truths and the unmasking of religion were done masterfully, as you slowly peeled off layer by layer and showed how history can be written and seen in two completely different ways. The story was deep and soulful, and I felt like I was a part of it.
We follow the story of two sisters, Aerith and Sapphira, who dedicate their lives to the temple and act as archers of the gods, killing underworld creatures. However, as the story progresses, we are shown that the narrative the archers are taught is not entirely true. When Sapphire is given a task from one of the gods, Jorrah, to set on a quest and save her son, little does she know her world and beliefs will crumble.
I love Dante's Inferno, and I felt Divine Arrows was fantastic in showing Sapphire going through nine circles of hell to complete her mission. She is not alone on her path; her companions, Nox, a fallen angel, and Zyro, a zombie, represent everything she should stand against. But Saphhire will eventually learn that some pre-installed truths are anything but, and she will have to discern who the real enemies are. She and Nox were a perfect pairing, and I loved witnessing their relationship grow from true enemies to something more. And Zyro...
Oh, baby Zyro was the highlight of the book, and I just wanted to hold him and keep him safe and happy!
Aerith's story is a testament to the strength and resilience of the human spirit. As the more devout of the two sisters, it was even more challenging for her to question her beliefs and set them aside. But Lexer, the shifter king, is the one who makes her question her life and ask herself if there is more to it. Aerith's path was difficult, but she showed such strength and devotion to her loved ones; it was beautiful to watch.
As I sit here, the only thing left for me is to anticipate the next book eagerly. I know I will be holding my breath until then, eager to continue the journey that Divine Arrows has begun.

Imagine going through the 9 circles of hell to save a child of a Goddess. The 9 circles will test Sapphira. As she faces all these challenges in each circle,she will either become stronger or give in to them and not survive to the next.
The worlds and lands in this book are so vividly descriptive, the story plays like a movie in your mind! The characters are so well developed you get to really know and feel for them.
If you enjoy romantasy-you’re going to LOVE this story! It’s wonderfully written. I can’t wait for book 2 to this series!

Amazing!
This book has it all and it is so beautifully pieced together.
~Enemies to lovers, fated mates, shifters, zombies, demons, Gods, angels, heat, adventure, action, and more.
The world building and character development is amazing!! I love books with main characters that have good banter and the banter here was great. I didn't expect a lot of what happened. Especially the ending…Zyro had me in tears.
So 10/10 Recommend if you like romantasy.

This was such an amazing read. Loved that we got what felt like two different stories that interconnected. The banter was amazing and so different between the two couples. Loved the forbidden love and fated mates combo we got. This was an epic journey from start to finish with an epic battle. Emotions definitely were all over the place but loved that we got a good ending with a clear setup for the next book. My favorite side character was definitely Zyro. Such a sweet zombie that I would protect with my life if I was in this book.

This was an unexpected but truly amazing read! This is my first book from Elaia Crowe, and it won’t be my last. I highly enjoyed this read!
To start off, we two FMCs and MMCs. I have read books with multiple POVs before, but not like this. These sisters were on two different journeys, for two different reasons, but along the way they were both set free and found love.
Our first FMC, Sapphira, is chaotically amazing. From the beginning of the book she would push the boundaries her world tried to keep her in. All to find out, there was a reason she always felt the need to break free. I love her, her journey, and her character development throughout this book. She took everything thrown at her with grace and strength. Our second FMC, Aerith, is Sapphira’s older sister. Their whole lives she wanted to protect her, so she followed the rules and was dedicated in her work. In her journey to find her sister, she realizes that there is more to life than the gods and temples. As an older sister, I entirely understand her relentless pursuit to find Sapphira; I would do the same for my sister.
Then there’s Sapphira’s MMC counterpart, Nox. I love the mystery that was behind him for a majority of this book. As their journey continued, we go to see him develop feelings towards Sapphira and his perception change. While he may be all big and ‘bad’, he has soft spots for his people. I love his sassy attitude, his flirtatious energy towards Sapphira, and his ruthlessness when needed. Our second MMC, Aerith’s counterpart, is Lexer. Lexer is the shifter king. While I do love him and Aerith together, there wasn’t too much too him that made me drawn to his character. Lexer is still a great addition to the book and the story however. I enjoy his unconditional love, respect, and support for Aerith. He will do anything for her. Bonus MMC is Zyro 🥹 I never thought I’d love a zombie so much! He is the absolute cutest thing.
Now, for the overall journey and plot, I am obsessed. I love trials so much, and this one to me, was unique. I have not read another book where one of our MCs had to undergo trials through the 7 deadly sins. It was very intriguing to read. It was also captivating to see what Aerith and her team had to go through in order to find Sapphira. Their journey may not have beaten them as badly, but it was daunting and stressful nonetheless. Not to mention that even with the romance between two different couples, the overall plot stayed intact and relevant. With some romantasies the romance takes over and the plot is lost, that is not the case here.
I highly recommend you pick up this book asap. I am so ready for book two!!!

Divine Arrows was such a fun and gripping read, I could NOT put it down! Elaia Crowe absolutely nailed the character work, storytelling, and immersive world-building in this one. If you're looking for a fantasy story that feels alive, this is it.
Told through the POVs of two sisters, Sapphira and Aerith, the story still shines with FIVE standout characters throughout the journey. Sapphira, a devoted archer fighting off the darkness invading her realm, finds herself shoved into a divine quest (literally), and paired with Nox, a broody, secretive fallen angel who had me questioning everything. Oh, and his companion Zyro? Absolute scene stealer.
On the other side, we follow Aerith, the dutiful, loyal sister who’s sworn to her temple and her duties. When Sapphira goes missing, Aerith reluctantly turns to Lexer, the swoon-worthy king of the shifters, for help. Their slow-burn chemistry? No notes, just applause!
The world-building was next level. Every realm, creature, and god felt fleshed out and real, layering the story with so much depth. The pacing kept me hooked too — aside from a couple tiny dips, I was absolutely devouring the pages, especially with a few twists that caught me totally off guard.
This was a fantastic fantasy read that delivers on heart, tension, and adventure. I’m already dying to see where the story goes next! Highly recommend picking this one up if you love strong characters, layered worlds, and just a touch of chaos.

Divine Arrows is Book 1 in the Celestial Archers series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The premise was unique, and it was executed perfectly. The character development, the world building, and the overall story told in a dual POV were great. I was hooked right from the start. The addition of Zyro was the icing on the cake and made it that much more special to me. There are secrets, betrayals, quests, and trials, oh my! The ending had me sobbing. I can’t wait to see where it goes in Book 2.

This book was so good! You have gods, goddesses, fallen angels, demon princes, shifters, goblins, and zombies. And let’s not forget our archers. This story is about two sisters Sapphira and Aerith and their journeys. Sapphira meets a fallen angel/god named Nox and it shows their journey and all the trials Sapphira has to go through and beat, and all the secrets she discovers. A zombie named Zyro also tags along and he is the sweetest zombie I’ve ever read about and completely stole my heart! Aerith ends up on a journey with the shifter king Lexer, to find her sister, while also discovering secrets. This book comes with plot twists and steamy romance! Elaia Crowe you did a beautiful job! I can not wait to read the next book in this series and find out what happens!

Beneath the surface of intricate world building and mythic lore lies a tale as disturbing as it is tragic. Though the magical system and the slow unravelling of divine manipulation held my attention, the story faltered in its execution, and the weight of its revelations was never fully carried by the characters or the narrative itself.
At the centre are two sisters, Sapphira and Aerith, raised in the same temple, yet never treated as equals. Sapphira, though strong and skilled as an archer, is forced to live under the shadow of rejection. No matter how fiercely she fights, no matter how obediently she serves, she is cast aside. When she is sent into the underworld on a divine mission, she bears not only the danger of the task but the burden of a life shaped by cruelty. Her companion, Nox, is a source of constant tension. He condemns her faith as blind, all the while following the will of a goddess himself. Their conflict repeats endlessly, yet when Sapphira hears truths that should force a confrontation, she remains silent. It is a silence that weakens her, and one that leaves her arc incomplete.
Yet within the underworld, Sapphira’s journey does reveal her depth. The trials she faces, each reflecting a vice, unfold like a darker, twisted version of Alice in Wonderland, filled with riddles, illusions, and truths she must uncover. These trials are some of the most compelling parts of the novel, exposing her inner fears, desires, and doubts. Through them, we come to understand her far more than Aerith, whose character remains distant and underdeveloped. It is through Sapphira’s trials that we also learn about Aerith’s role in her life, though frustratingly, we are only told how Aerith once saved her when they were younger. We are not shown these moments. Instead, we see how Aerith neglects her now, her supposed love buried beneath inaction.
Aerith, by contrast, is described as perfect, divine, and capable, yet she never truly proves herself. We are told she worries for Sapphira, we are told she carries guilt, but we do not feel it until much later. Only when she sets out to find her sister does that concern begin to take shape, and even then it is overshadowed by her entanglement with Lexer, the shifter king, which dominates her journey. Aerith acknowledges her failure, she knows she has not been the sister Sapphira needed, and yet when she finally finds her, she leaves within days. Her absence is not meant as abandonment, but it feels like one. Her choices, though framed as her own, come at a time when Sapphira remains in danger, and her departure only deepens the sense that she never fully understood the cost of her actions. At least, they are given a special magical necklace, so they can now communicate across any distance, a convenient gesture, if little else, considering how quickly they are once again apart.
The supporting cast added little. Zyro alone offered something real- his quiet longing, his unwavering loyalty, and his wish to see the stars gave him a depth that the others lacked. Kimura, Perrin, and the dragon, who appears in Sapphira’s visions and later in battle, seemed poised to matter but never did. The dragon, though present at critical moments, was little more than a voice pointing the way, his role ultimately empty.
What captivated and unsettled me most was the truth about the gods, the temple, and the sisters’ mother. It was not simply that they had suffered, but that their suffering had been engineered from the beginning. Every choice they believed their own had been shaped by those in power. This truth was horrifying, yet also compelling. And yet, there was no justice, no space to reckon with the magnitude of what they had endured. The story moves forward, but leaves that weight behind, unaddressed.
The writing, though at times vivid, struggled to give these themes their due. Scenes lingered without need, dialogue circled without end, and the emotion that should have driven the story was often lost beneath repetition. Despite this, I am left with questions that pull me towards what may come next. Will Sapphira find the justice that was denied her? Will Aerith, after leaving so much unfinished, return in a way that matters?
Three and a half stars, for a world that disturbed and intrigued me, but a story that fell short of its own potential. The sequel, I believe, is set to be published on 29 April, and despite my reservations, I find myself wondering whether it will bring the resolution this story withheld, whether Sapphira will find her reckoning, and whether Aerith will truly earn her place.

You will absolutely love this book if you like The Memory Puller series and very likely will like this book if you like Heavenly Bodies.

I was truly honored to have been able to read this as an e-arc. I fell in love with Divine Arrows from the very beginning. Elaia Crowe's Writing style brings you into the story and along the journey with the characters so you feel all of the emotions they feel and you can see everything they see with how descriptive she is. The world building that usually happens in a fantasy book can sometimes be too much in the first book of a series but this book was perfect and held my interest the entire time. I was so invested with the characters and their journey for self discovery.
This book follows two sisters and their journey dedicating their lives to the temple and acting as archers to the Gods. Their jobs being to kill creatures of the underworld. The sister's names are Sapphira and Aerith. Sapphira is sent on a quest by one of the Gods and has no idea that this quest will be one that changes her entire life.
Sapphira was sent through Dante's Inferno and through the Nine Circles of Hell. The way that Elaia described this made you feel like you were there too. Sapphira met a fallen angel named Not and you get the honor of witnessing a true enemies to lovers relationship between these two as they go along her journey. You'll also get to meet one of my favorite characters who I will save for as a surprise for when you read it because you will love them too.
Aerith's journey is about strength and her bravery. You meet wonderful characters along the way with both sisters. It was an honor to read this book and witness these characters self discovery and feel all of the emotions I felt while reading Divine Arrows. You go on a spiritual journey with these two and meet a lot of characters who are impactful and some that aren't along the way. Kind of like real life but with shifters, Gods and fated mates.

This was everything I wanted and more! As soon as I read the synopsis, I knew it needed to be on my TBR. When I had the chance to read it as an ARC, it jumped to the top of the list immediately!
First, let me just say the world building in this is superb. It’s a map with many places but each of those places has so much depth, it was like watching a movie in my head, especially once our groups went their separate ways. I loved the different circles and that they were “classic” but refreshed in a way that made them belong to this author alone.
Next, I want to address the “beings” we spend our time with and see along the way. Like I mentioned before, the depth of this world blows my mind. We had the classics of angels and demons, gods and goddesses, but then we got dragons, shifters, imps and zombies. It was quite a motley crew on this adventure and I loved every element of it. For the record - Zyro is the sweetest most perfect character of the book and I will take NO arguments.
Finally, gotta talk about the story itself. It had twists and turns, secret identities, lies to unravel, lore to be tested and unfortunate betrayals. Some of my favorite tropes like enemies to lovers, forced proximity, fated mates, forbidden love, and excellent banter were also here for the party. All in all, I devoured this in two days because the story was well paced and I just wanted to know what was going to happen! The last 15% was a wild ride and I’m sad now that it’s over!

I enjoyed this fantastical tale quite a bit but I think it might have been trying to do too much. We have 2 sisters, 2 different love interests developing, and 2 different but interconnected quests. Angels and dragons, zombies and shapeshifters, hell and deadly sins. There's a lot happening at all times. Slow burn, low spice.

This was just so much fun! Thank you to The Nerd Fam and Elaia Crowe for a copy of this book. It was a mash-up of all my favourite fantasy series in a story I didn’t realize I needed in my life. Angels versus demons, sky gods versus underground gods, religious brainwashing and control, an elite force of archers and the pull of a fated mate, no matter how improbable the match. There was a lot going on in this novel, and I haven’t even mentioned the zombies, werewolfs and dragons yet! So like I said, it was a big mash up and such an enjoyable read.
Told through tandem stories, two sisters who could not be more different and yet are connected by love, set out on a mad dash adventure for the truth. Sapphira may be an excellent archer for the gods, but she always seems to find herself in trouble. Late for prayers, daydreaming and wishing for adventure instead of the service she has signed up for, she can’t help but be enthralled by the voice of a dragon telling her a goddess has assigned her a mission. When a masked fallen angel quite literally pushes her into this quest she finds herself in the underworld with unlikely companions. Forced to walk through the eight circles of hell, she is tested by each vice, as well as her own preconceptions. She discovers her moral high ground lacks any morality whatsoever when she comes face to face with the creatures she vicariously hunts.
On the other side of this story is Aerith, a most devout temple disciple and archer. Striving for perfection she has denied herself much, including the shifter king Lexar who she has loved for years. When her sister goes missing, Aerith must decide between love and devotion. Seeking the help of Lexar, their paths will take them to icy tundras and hidden trees as she attempts to find Sapphira and the truth of her dark and slandered inception.
This is an adult fantasy with two fated mates and quite a bit of heat in the end. One is an enemies forced into proximity trope and the other is of forbidden love. In terms of character development, Sapphira was far more interesting and her quest the focus of my attention. Aerith is the goody two shoes that I often find boring and her adventure really felt like a supporting role. It was nice that she allowed herself to want, but I think I needed more of the sisterly bond to propel this critical relationship, as opposed to her focus really being a love story. I won’t spoil any of the plot, but I dare you not to cherish a certain zombie. I am now patiently waiting for book 2 to be released next week! If you love fantasy and want an adventure with a little bit of everything you can imagine this is certainly one to add to your TBR. Just wow!

This was just so much fun! Thank you to The Nerd Fam and Elaia Crowe for a copy of this book. It was a mash-up of all my favourite fantasy series in a story I didn’t realize I needed in my life. Angels versus demons, sky gods versus underground gods, religious brainwashing and control, an elite force of archers and the pull of a fated mate, no matter how improbable the match. There was a lot going on in this novel, and I haven’t even mentioned the zombies, werewolfs and dragons yet! So like I said, it was a big mash up and such an enjoyable read.
Told through tandem stories, two sisters who could not be more different and yet are connected by love, set out on a mad dash adventure for the truth. Sapphira may be an excellent archer for the gods, but she always seems to find herself in trouble. Late for prayers, daydreaming and wishing for adventure instead of the service she has signed up for, she can’t help but be enthralled by the voice of a dragon telling her a goddess has assigned her a mission. When a masked fallen angel quite literally pushes her into this quest she finds herself in the underworld with unlikely companions. Forced to walk through the eight circles of hell, she is tested by each vice, as well as her own preconceptions. She discovers her moral high ground lacks any morality whatsoever when she comes face to face with the creatures she vicariously hunts.
On the other side of this story is Aerith, a most devout temple disciple and archer. Striving for perfection she has denied herself much, including the shifter king Lexar who she has loved for years. When her sister goes missing, Aerith must decide between love and devotion. Seeking the help of Lexar, their paths will take them to icy tundras and hidden trees as she attempts to find Sapphira and the truth of her dark and slandered inception.
This is an adult fantasy with two fated mates and quite a bit of heat in the end. One is an enemies forced into proximity trope and the other is of forbidden love. In terms of character development, Sapphira was far more interesting and her quest the focus of my attention. Aerith is the goody two shoes that I often find boring and her adventure really felt like a supporting role. It was nice that she allowed herself to want, but I think I needed more of the sisterly bond to propel this critical relationship, as opposed to her focus really being a love story. I won’t spoil any of the plot, but I dare you not to cherish a certain zombie. I am now patiently waiting for book 2 to be released next week! If you love fantasy and want an adventure with a little bit of everything you can imagine this is certainly one to add to your TBR. Just wow!

"There is more to life than rules and laws."
This was such a great read! I love dual POV books, and this one gives us two romances with two sisters risking everything. I felt like we primarily follow Sapphira, who longs for more than her role as a divine archer, but we get so many great moments with Aerith and Lexer (a shifter king) as well. When a god calls upon Sapphira and offers her a new purpose, she takes it, even though it means joining forces with Nox, a fallen angel with a hidden face and a hidden agenda…and someone Sapphira deeply dislikes at first.
Their reluctant alliance starts with mutual disdain, but as Sapphira continues on her journey into the underworld, the disdain slowly starts unraveling, replaced with tension and an unexpected connection. There are so many funny moments courtesy of Nox’s sarcastic, flirtatious humor. His banter with Sapphira brings such a great mix of heat and humor, and watching them clash and then cave for each other is incredibly satisfying.
One of my favorite things about this story were the trials. As Sapphira and Nox face tests based on the seven deadly sins (vices), each one pushing her and Nox emotionally and morally, we get some really delicious tension and truths. They're also joined by the unforgettable Zyro. Gosh, I loved this gentle zombie so much. He's so sweet, kind to Sapphira, and just dreaming of the stars and refusing to eat humans. The second POV chapters follow Saphirra's sister, Aerith, and her wolf shifter, adding more emotional depth and intrigue to the story as their two quests become one by the end of the book.
With gods, fallen angels, shifters, dragons, unicorns, and a love story built on tension and transformation, how can you go wrong? I'll definitely be reading the next book and hope it will be just as filled with danger and chemistry between the MCs as this one was.

We have 2 sisters Aerith and Sapphira. They are Archers for the God's. They fight the zombies and demons and collect the ashes to use in ceremonies with a partner called a Binder. The Binder uses a method of their choice to bind them and turn them into ashes. They basically follow the path of the God's and their work, temple, prayers, and have forsaken worldly pleasures. But Sapphira is the oddball. She happens to love color and has a painted door for their home, and she's always daydreaming. She was late to temple one day as she had a voice in her head which was sending her on a quest. Aerith her sister is the devoted one, the most loved and appreciated because she follows her path. She is seeing the Shifter King but won't give into her bodies wants because it goes against the vows they take in being the God's Archers. But once her sister goes missing, she takes off with the Shifter King in search and hope of finding her sister and embarking on a quest. Meanwhile her sister is taken from the Temple by a fallen angel named Nox, who basically has a pet Zombie who doesn't eat people and just wants to see the falling stars from the sky before he dies. Sapphira and Nox are asked by a Goddess to go out on a quest together as they are the ones best suited for it, and Sapphira and him just argue and go back and forth.
But Nox........ Nox is kind of sweet. I love how he stands up for his people, and shows these little signs that he cares, but then you have Sapphira who just goes blindly with what she was taught by the Temple that these demons and fallen angels are all bad.
This story was a wonderous journey for me. I at first wasn't sure this would be for me, but would definitely recommend it. But then insert Nox and Zyro. By the end of this book.... I cried. This book was touching, everyone goes through so much, and everyone has to work with the prejudice from their own side and the other.
Will the sister's give in to desires they didn't want?
Will they be able to complete a quest with those they are forced to set forth with?
Read this roller coaster ride of a story, and step into a world that just ended up being far more fantastic than I expected.
You'll root for some, and yell at others. But I'm sure there's some people that you'll fall in love with during this story.

This book seriously surprised me in the best way! Divine Arrows throws you into a world of divine power, twisted truths, and morally gray areas—and I was completely hooked.
The story follows two sisters, each on their own path—one driven by duty, the other by destiny. Alongside them are two powerful, mysterious men who challenge everything they know and feel. Their journeys are full of danger, divine secrets, and choices that could change everything.
The conversations between Sapphira and Nox? Top tier. The way Nox challenges everything Sapphira believes—pointing out how her entire worldview might be shaped by manipulation and control—was chef’s kiss. That tension, that complexity… it made everything feel so raw and real. Nothing in this book is simple, and I love when a story isn’t afraid to dig into the gray areas.

First, thank you The Nerd Fam and Elaia Crowe for the copy of this book. This is my honest review.
ZOMBIES!
Ok, for real though, there are zombies in this book and they are nice?!
Sapphira travels through the nine levels of hell at the request of a goddess. She reveals some family secrets near the end of her journey. This book is a journey of her rethinking and questioning everything she has been taught in her life thus far as an Archer. Nox, the MMC, had me questioning his parentage throughout the book! I had some many guesses. I loved the way tidbits of information were dropped throughout this book because I guessed wrong so many times. (LOL).
I adored the relationship between Sapphira and her sister, Aerith. The growth of Aerith and her trials were much more relatable to me and I loved the way Elaia Crowe wrote this book as a Dual-POV, which allowed the reader to experience both sister's character development from their point of view. This book was well-written and entertaining. Sometimes the backstory and information dumping was a bit much and pulled me from the storyline. I also did not care for all of Aerith's friends pushing her to have sex. It felt very off-putting for me. Overall, this book was well worth a read and I am excited for book 2.

Elaia Crowe, how I have never read your books before now? Divine Arrows is book 1 in the Celestial Archer series. Book 2 is available now and book 3 is coming out early fall 2025. This book is amazing and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. I absolutely loved everything about this book and everything about it. The world building, the character development, the journey progression, everything!
Two sisters, two journeys, two different reasonings, but one common goal. As they both journey they both find love and are freed. Sapphira, our younger sister, is chaotic and loves to push boundaries, while Aerith, the older sister, is controlled and follows the rules. I connect with Aerith, as I too, am the oldest sister and would do anything to protect my younger siblings. And then we have their love interests. Nox starts out all about his people, but develops a soft sport for Sapphira that was a joy to read about. Lexer, the shifter king, and Aerith are pure magic together. He cares for her in a way she’s never been cared for before. Oh and we can’t forge Zyro, who added so much to the storyline.
As our sister’s and their partners move forward on their respective journeys, complex trials dealing with the 7 deadly sins, completely unique magic systems, and two amazing romances building. The storyline remains intact and clear. The plot line stays true to the journey of our characters, with romance being woven in, not taking over.
I will absolutely be reading the rest of this series and adding anything else by Ealia to my TBR!

This book was quite heavy on the religion, even a fantasy version of. Lots of worship and gods and goddesses. Lots of talks of badass FMC’s, dark shadow Daddy MMC, and a golden retriever wolf shifter MMC… yeah. It’s crazy!
Context: this story follows two ‘couples’ if you will.
You have Sapphira and Nox. Sapphira is a human archer tasked with protecting the gods from dark magic creatures. She hears a voice in her head telling her to go on a quest, she’s stubborn and resistant (but also lowkey badass), she goes anyway. Nox is her guide for the quest she goes on.
Then you have Aerith and Lexer. Aerith is also a human archer, Sapphira’s older sister, but where the younger rebels against routine and regulation, Aerith thrives. Her one weakness is the wolf shifter King Lexer, who accompanies Aerith on her journey to find her younger sister when she goes missing.
There is smut, 2/5 on the spice scale so nothing crazy. And it’s a.. HEA? Cliffhanger? You could be satisfied leaving it here but the ending does hint that there could be further books. Is there going to be? I don’t know.
I enjoyed reading, and its only maybe 1 or 2 chapters that seem paragraph heavy of religious meaning and correlation, but that was my discomfort that made me notice. I managed to skim those paragraphs easily, and it may mot be noticeable to everyone else! I liked the story anyway, loved the concept of 2 separate storylines occurring at the same time, with two couples. It was novel!
