A cybersecurity executive is murdered. Was it a random shooting, or a targeted killing? It’s up to Silas McKay, chief investigator for Discreet Corporate Security Services, to find out.
When Silas is asked to investigate the murder of Sherwood Fenton, he discovers there are already two suspects.
The widow believes the owner of a rival software company killed her husband . . . She claims he threatened to get revenge on Sherwood during a heated argument.
The police believe Sherwood’s murder was a gang-related shooting . . . The homicide detectives are focused on a teenager with a facial tattoo who was seen running from the scene.
Silas believes they’re both wrong . . . He’s looking at a third suspect, someone who’s been hiding in plain sight.
As Silas works through the investigation, he’s also dealing with his budding romantic relationship with Ashley Davenport, the amusing—sometimes not so amusing—antics of his new puppy, and the ever-present conflicts between the eclectic members of his investigative staff.
When Silas finally identifies the real killer, he learns a second murder is being planned, and as he tries to protect the victim, he confronts the killer in a high-stakes encounter where the outcome is anything but certain.
If you love a gripping, emotion-packed mystery, where characters are grappling with issues of faith and doubt while confronting professional challenges and personal danger, then you’ll love Four Doubt, Book 4 in the Silas McKay Suspense Series.
Luana Ehrlich is a USA Today bestselling author, known for her award-winning Titus Ray Thrillers, Mylas Grey Mysteries, and Silas McKay Suspense. Her novels are clean reads with intriguing plots, fascinating characters, jaw-dropping twists, and occasional touches of humor and heart-warming romance.
Although she developed her passion for spy thrillers and mystery novels at an early age, she didn’t write her first novel until her husband retired from the ministry. Now, she writes from an undisclosed location, trying to avoid the torture of mundane housework, grocery shopping, and golf stories. However, she occasionally comes out of hiding to visit with her two grandsons or to enjoy a Starbucks caramel macchiato.
Luana and her husband, former missionaries to Costa Rica and Venezuela, are now residents of Norman, Oklahoma. Email her at author@luanaehrlich.com. She loves to hear from her readers!!
This is a continuation of the Silas McKay mystery series. It's a fantastic series, and this installment was excellent. This time, Silas solves a murder, and the action is well-executed!
This book is fast-paced. As usual for Luana Ehrlich, it is clean. No sex, no swear words, and the plot and story are impeccable. There are no grammar errors, showing good editing. That is a pet peeve of mine; grammar and spelling errors in books, both online and print books. ! My only complaint is that it was too short. I can recommend it to anyone who likes suspense and Christian books.
Another great face paced novel filled believable characters and some that are men and women of faith. I am looking forward to the next novel in this series. R. Fody Aug 2024
This was a quick read with a good mystery that had twists and turns and suspects. I enjoyed Silas' dog's antics (sometimes mischievous) and how his and Ashley's relationship is growing.
Let say, once I started reading this novel, I could not put it down.. As usual Luana's craft stands out in her excellent style and her building of the main story line. I highly recommend reading this book as well as all her novels.
I enjoyed this new addition to Ehrlich's Silas McKay series. She's done a good job at having different plots for each book. The suspense is done just right, and I had a hard time putting the book down.
Tragic Murder in Dallas, Texas This is the fifth book in a series that takes place in Dallas Texas. The story revolves around a discrete security business and the different cases they solve. In this book, one of their clients is murdered and our main character, Silas, tries to solve the case. This series is best read in order as the background stories build upon themselves. As with all of this author's stories, this is a clean mystery with no foul language, little violence, no gore, and no intimacy. I can't wait for the next episode to be published!
DCSS accepts a murder case for one of their clients. The police have hit a roadblock so the wife of the victim hires DCSS to find the murderer. And they do. The clues are exceptional that lead to the outcome in a surprising way. On another front, Ashley tells Silas she is giving her two week notice because their relationship has turned romantic and wants to tell the owner if DCSS that she is ready to start her own detective agency. 🥰 A very exciting read. Enjoy!
Silas is challenged with a high-profile murder in this story. I believe this statement best summarizes the story: gripping, emotion-packed mystery where characters grapple with issues of faith and doubt while confronting professional challenges and personal danger. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I very much enjoyed hearing Mr. Lennon read the story. He is like a trusted/true friend.
This is the fourth book in the series and the fifth won’t come out until Summer 2025, so keep that in mind when the author’s catchphrase is “Never the end, always the beginning.” There is very little romance and a lot of the fine details into solving a crime. It’s relatively easy to figure out who did it, just finding evidence is difficult.
This is the fourth book in the series. I’ve not read any of the previous books. However, this can be read, or the audiobook listened to as I did, as a standalone. The narration was good and the plot moved along steadily. The murderer was rather obvious, but how the diverse team got the evidence was interesting. The last few chapters were the most exciting.
I love the stories and writings of this author. Different characters and scenarios make for interesting reads. I have now read all of the series and look forward to more.
I really enjoyed this book so much. I listened to the audio book and the narration was good. I enjoyed all of the characters as well. It is always a joy for me to read or listen to a story written by Luana Ehrlich.
I really enjoyed this newest installment in the Silas McKay suspense series! I loved how the narrator brought the story to life! Excited to see what comes next!
Book 4 in this series is another enjoyable read. The storyline includes being led by the Lord, prayer for guidance, confirmation of God's presence, etc, and combines all these big factors in the characters' lives. Come along we me as I move on to Book 5!
This is another twisty tale in this series. The varied characters are enjoyable and the story is full of love and deception and murder. The various threads are resolved and the path of love continues. The Christian path is also nicely written. It's an entertaining book.
As always, I enjoyed this Silas McKay novel. The storyline moved right along, engaging the reader and drawing me into the characters’ lives. Read and enjoy!
This series just keeps getting better! I can't wait for the next book. Lots of twists and interesting characters in this book. Plus a little romance. Perfect combination!
I loved the series, so much information about the special services the agency provides. Rely enjoyed the interaction between all the characters Would definitely recommend
