In this world, the first to die are not those who lack talent, but good people
La muerte de cierto personaje que ha hecho que este pase de indiferente a memorable, Nagumo pegando un tiro al cielo en memoria de este, la transformación del reno gracias a Hana, Nagumo por ahí también siendo él y la primera "aparición" de Kamihate.
This volume started strong with an interesting fight. Though the fight just kind of ended, well several times it ended. Turned out to be another unsatisfyingly moment in the story. Then there is just all this exposition that makes no sense and seems to happen just to upset the world building that had so far been part of the story. Oh no! Double cross. Not bad and better than the whole back to school bit, but in the end just meh.
"In this world, the first to die aren't those who lack talent. It's those who are good people."
The energy in this installment doesn’t let up for even a second. What really stood out was how the battles aren’t just flashy exchanges but tied directly to the characters’ values and flaws. You can see the contrast between those who fight with ruthless precision and those who carry a sense of responsibility beyond themselves. The tension comes not only from the action but also from the emotional weight carried by each fighter. It makes the volume feel more intense and layered than many of the earlier arcs.
The writing here shows a series that has evolved past being just an action-packed romp. Every fight carries an undercurrent of identity, loyalty, and what it means to survive in a violent world. Side characters who might have been comic relief in the past are given sharp, emotional focus, making their presence matter in ways that linger after the last page. Even quieter moments carry a heavy impact, showing how trauma and loss shape the choices these assassins make. The pacing can feel relentless, but it matches the story’s tone of escalating conflicts.
What impressed me most is how the series balances adrenaline with reflection. The world feels bigger, the enemies sharper, and the emotions rawer. Instead of treating this like a throwaway action series, the story demands more attention now. It forces you to slow down and think about what drives these characters while still delivering cinematic fights and clever twists. For readers who’ve been following from the start, this volume proves the series has shifted into something much deeper—fast-paced, emotional, and worth every page.
God damn, kind of really hate what the English language has become. Unless the cuntfaces at VIZ are just using machine-translation, in which case whatever. Hyo keeps referring to the Magneto chick as "they" and it takes ages for Heisuke to finally use "she." Was there some confusion as to the appearance of a woman in skimpy clothing? Or is VIZ just going to keep being vague and neutral until the text confirms the ways every character identifies themselves? Like, I get wanting to be "PC" and not offend anyone, but... there's a point where you just look like you're doing your job poorly. Like you aren't editing or proofreading anything. Or don't understand either English or Japanese, and are blindly fumbling your way through writing.

A great palate cleanser to reset your mind between the previous and next mental task. It is funny, but not ha-ha funny like Way of the Househusband, it is more subtle. The absolutely over-the-top fight scenes between a convenience store clerk and the hit-men sent to assassinate him are just that.
The action scenes and wide background shots are amazing artwork.
Can’t say I’m really buying the Rion twist as of now. But it does seem like the issue with the current JAA chairman gives them some latitude to explain it. I’ve loved the manga as a whole so I’ll let it take me for the ride.

Chapter 127: Do you know about Al-Kamar? It was a scheme a to take in young orphans, and teach them how to kill. They wanted to artificially create order members. These powers, fights, and our lives. We didn't want any of this. But in the end, the plan failed.

Chapter 129:

Chapter 129: Are you Akao? Looks like it's not just your body that's gotten dull, Sakamoto. I guess a billion yen was a bit much after all!

Chapter 132:
Chapter 132: So, Kamihate's back in Japan? I've never seen him face-to-face, but... I have. Liar.
Chapter 133: Hyo died because he was weak. That's all. A speck of dust like you has zero bearing on whether we live or die. What do you mean, weak?! He wasn't weak! He protected me and the locals- But he was weak, wasn't he? Or else he wouldn't have died. Wha-?! How can you be so cold toward your friend?! Look. You can't just kill lots of people and then get all sensitive when someone close to you dies. That's hypocritical. That's not the world we live in. Taking lives in our job. Us, and them too.
Chapter 133: Kamihate has something to say. "O." "Sa." "Ra." "Gi." "Is cute."

The battle with Heisuke and Hyo reaches its climax, and it's not pretty at all. It's cool that some of these fights don't always go the heroes' way, which adds a lot more complexity and tension to the story. We also learn a little more about Slur/X and what's going on, but only just barely. But of course, as soon as one event ends, we're already presented with the next big thing that's going to happen. With the way the story is moving right now at a breakneck pace, there's not much time for these characters or the reader to take a breather. Characters are quickly introduced and dispatched of, I"m not sure who exactly is part of the Sakamoto team and who is going to be left behind.
I'm still enjoying the series for what it is, but please give allow these characters to develop before moving on to the next big fight.

This is the first time I have ever seen a manga cover straight out of the issue! Which I actually thought was pretty cool! The action is intense in this volume! The first half has some serious ramifications, and not everyone is walking away whole! Yuto Suzuki has really amped up another entertaining volume! I don’t know if this ranking is because of the way this volume hit reading it after a bunch of books which I rated 3-stars…but it delivers. There are enough good jampacked into this volume to elevate it to a 4-star ready! So many good fun moments are being set up too! Exciting times in the world of Sakamoto!
i can’t become a true assassin. i keep thinking about things i don’t need to think about. i can’t be like nagumo, who has no illusions about what he does. i don’t have the guts to go legit and quit like sakamoto. i’ve been working so hard all this time. i don’t have the courage to throw it all away just because it doesn’t suit me.
god i see myself in hyo so much. this is someone who is so unsure of themselves, who feels like they don’t belong in such a cutthroat and demanding world. someone who isn’t stellar, who was just getting by. how do you not get insecure over people who are so much stronger than you? people who know what they want and actually excel at what they do? or people who were brave enough to walk away when the life they were living doesn’t serve them anymore? i think i’ll always be like hyo, never sure enough about anything to definitively make a choice. who’s just floating in their own fears - of failure, of success - of anything even remotely happening. i’m not happy about where i am, but i can’t quite leave it either.
so what does it say about the hyo types of this world when he was the one who died in this volume? yes, he did so trying to save someone. i understand that. but in a way, it kind of makes me feel like people like us were destined to fail. in his words, “what a joke.”
in this world, the first ones to die aren’t those who lack talent. it’s the ones who are good people.
rest in peace, hyo.
📍 for my own benefit - this is the volume when we find out that uzuki’s split personality is rion.. CRAZY

Major characters growth across the roster here, Thailand arc will have a major impact on the rest of the story. I am somewhat surprised at how much happened in such a short amount of chapters. Picked this volume up just to start it and read it all in one sitting. Definitely some of the greatest moments so far in the series plus the kashima chapter is so top tier. Mixed feelings about the X reveal so far but I’m gonna trust the process 💯
What a volume!!! Action packed way to start this one, picking up right after the last one with the fight between Hyo, Heisuke and Kumanomi. That entire moment was amazing and I'm still a bit in a daze about that fight's outcome.
The volume moves on to the others as Sakamoto and gang confront Slur at the abandoned warehouse or it is Slur? Lots more twists and turns at the end of this one so I need to put a hold at the library for the next volume.
Lotta fighting between tertiary characters in this one. That coupled with a very silly rug-pull reveal toward the middle of the volume kind of made me feel like the series was getting lost in the weeds a little bit.
HOWEVER, one they gave the deer guy tank legs and claw machine arms, I was back on board. Long live Sakamoto Days.
Art seems to be getting a lil sloppier than usual but its a weekly series so I get it.

Definitely better than the previous one. The fight between Hyo/Heisuke and Kumanomi was great. I was not a fan of Hyo but after this fight, I really like him. The other half of the book focuses on Uzuki and his plans. Learning more about Rion Akao was awesome (I'm not going to spoil it for you). Things are getting heated. I'm waiting to see Nagumo and Takamura in action. We haven't seen the old man for a while now.
When it comes to Slur, the character has taken a turn that frankly feels like an unnecessary addition. It feels like an attempt to add something of interest to the primary antagonist, but it is a struggle to see how it will play out. Outside of that, this volume has the usual hallmarks of a terrifically realised battle, another ally joining the team, and set-up for the next event. It's good, but there are places when this feels repetitive.
A volume in 3 parts, first a fight between two charcters I do not care about at all, that suddenly ends, then climax of the Thailand trip is over in a flash and reveals just the most baffling twist (I don’t yet know how I feel) then like classically good Sakamoto days charcter stuff with gags and set up, this part is quite good, and the Nagumo JAA group has cemented its self as mu favourite set of charcters, loved seeing the with heisuke
