The way Tajima so nonchalantly said "let's break up so you can fall into the pool and i can save you and confess my feelings to you" just so that she can have a "meet cute" with him is EVERYTHING.
Because this manga is PURE SEROTONIN in book form! It's fluffy, wholesome and so beautifully real, capturing all the sweet awkwardness and joy of falling in love.
The shojo vibes are absolutely perfect here. The art is gorgeous, the character growth is chef's kiss and the dynamic between the leads is everything. We've got a straightforward FMC who says what she means and an ML who falls even harder than she does. And the best part? Zero misunderstandings, zero toxicity… just honest communication and growing affection.
My only complaint? It's too short! I could've read volumes more of these adorable dorks navigating their feelings 🥹🩷
now, why am I sniffling and teary-eyed?? 😩 over way too soon 😔
but this is what I’m talking about when I want that *giggling and kicking my feet* feeling!! absolutely adorable 🥺😭 and the art is so cute, I’m melting away
Okay overall series review after binging it in one night:
1) the beginning lacked a lot of development towards the relationship. It felt like the author was trying to rush towards the cute romance scenes without establishing character relationships or even a semblance of a plot. Yes, the romance scenes were cute, but very generic and bland as the characters and story (or lack thereof) were bland too.
2) the characters and their lack of development and use in the story brought it down a lot too. What’s the point of introducing Ayano and her ex or even the guy with the same name as the MMC if they play no significant role? Especially the same-name-as-MMC guy since the opening scene was about the kiss with him and how that was a significant moment in FMC’s life? It’s like the author forgot the plot, brought the character in for a bit, and then immediately wrote him off without a fight. Like yes, not everything has to be angsty, but damn was this lacking any flavor.
3) art is fire and very pretty. I liked the art style in the third novel the best. Very visually appealing despite the poorly written and executed “story.”
Overall, series is cute and pretty but very much so forgettable. I will probably forget that I read this series by next week.
This might be a bit too TMI, but when I was 13/14 I really wanted to be in love, so I picked a guy from my class to like and daydream about. Of course, I didn't do it consciously; it's something that I only came to realize in retrospect, how that love was manufactured by my imagination.
I feel like Kuma's infatuation with Tajima is kind of the same. She's a big lover girl wanting to love, and this guy is the best option to project this desire into. So many moments that made her heart flutter left me confused, because I was not moved at all. I still don't get why she fell for him.
As for Tajima, he felt so nonchalant for most of the story that when we finally got a more passionate reaction from him at the end it felt too little, too late. He's a teenage boy being pestered all over by this very cute girl that claims to love him, so he settled with a "wth, sure" attitude. Not exactly what I'd call peak romance.
I'm more disappointed than I should because this one is hyped so much. It's not bad by any means, but I was certain this would become a new favorite.
At first, I found Kokomi a bit annoying with her idealistic view of love, which someone like Kyouhei might find odd. But her openness is exactly what drew him in and made him want to learn and experience love her way. Kyouhei’s sweetness and thoughtfulness honestly make him feel too perfect to be real. What I love most is that there’s no heavy drama, as it’s just pure fluff. Even the real “kiss stealer” doesn’t cause conflict, keeping the focus on the main couple’s heart-fluttering moments. The second couple is adorable, too. Overall, this manga is a total treat for anyone who loves fluffy, feel-good romance that makes your heart melt.

This was so freaking cute 😭😭 why is it so short tho, it's not enough.
They're honestly one of the cutest couples I've seen. Not unnecessary misunderstandings, just a girl and a boy falling in love and being hella cute. She's so pretty and cute, and although in the beginning he was cold and distant, in the end they turned out to be perfect for each other. Also, I really like the art style. You can tell how much work was put into the drawings, they're beautiful. Loved how expressive the characters looked.
***This review was written in 2024 when I originally read this story, and it is meant to be a review for the series as a whole, not just this volume
Honestly, I wasn’t sure if I should give it a ten because it was such a short little story. And yet, I can’t think of a single flaw. Even by the end, I wanted more without feeling like we hadn’t had enough. In fact, from start to finish, this was the perfect bite of romance. So I simply can’t give it any less than a 10
Overall I found the FL cringey and with her head in the clouds. The ML pissed me off with his nonchalant attitude to the point where when he was nice to FL I was confused where it came from. He was just doing whatever he wanted. I couldn't even tell why he chose her.. like that part felt random. I don't know what point he tried to prove or anything. The FL too should've been way more straight-forward, but maybe that's just me. The art style was cute tho
“let’s break up and then you’ll fall into the water. (oh, but before that, get out your phone and anything you don’t wanna get wet.) you’ll start drowning, and then i’ll confess to you again.”
i. huhu, i really never wanted this to end. i could’ve stayed with them for another thousand chapters and still asked for more. i’m going to miss these two so much. their romance is so silly, ridiculous, and unexpectedly sweet, and somehow that made me love them even more. what a lovely little romance. ♡
The entirety of this volume really leveled up! Tajima was really giving his all to Kumamori, and they were so disgustingly cute that they made me tear up!
I also really enjoyed the specials that the mangaka has released as well, you can see how much our lead couple has grown, it's just so sweet 😭😭
