Tropes: why choose MMMMFMM omegaverse, swimmer FMC, water polo MMCs, Olympic games, forced proximity, hidden omega, scent matches.
Rating: 4✨

Well, I enjoyed this book, but I liked the first one more.
I wouldn't have minded if it had at least a hundred more pages. In fact, I think they were necessary.
Seeing McQuinn grovel would have been nice since it was painful to watch him reject Maggie every time she attempted to connect with him. I’m sorry to say this, but I also think that he would probably be content to just be with Nils.

Harrison, you are the winner in this book. You are my favorite alpha.

And lastly, what's the point of witnessing a bi-awakening if Oz doesn't act upon it? I mean, will there be any kind of development in that area? The pack will be able to keep their medals? Again, I really think that at least a hundred more pages were necessary.

*incoherent screaming*

THIS WAS AMAZING! I loved part one; it was so sweet and spicy and fun. I was really looking forward to part two, and it was really everything I could hope for!

The unresolved drama between McQuinn and Meggie was just so good, and I loved the really sweet, vulnerable moments between them. It was nice (story-wise) that everything was perfect and easy with all the guys because it made it interesting and allowed for so many good, angsty moments. Harrison and Meggie were everything, and I loved seeing him sort of lose control and be so out of his mind for her. All the guys are outta their minds for Meggie, and it was really sweet how much they all cared for her and each other. They really were a great pack!

I didn't want to put the book down, it was perfectly paced, and I'm so invested in Emily and her situation! I also really loved that Ava had a little bit of redemption in this one. She isn't my favorite, and I don't think she ever would be, but it was nice to see a softer side to her, and I'm glad they didn't just write her off as a mean girl.

I just have to give a special shout-out to the spice in this book because...holy forking shirt balls. It was hot as hell, I thought my kindle was going to overheat and explode. 10.10 this book was amazing, and you should read it.

I think I was overzealous giving part 1 4 stars. Or the quality just dropped in this one. Way too much outside drama going on and I honestly stopped caring about everything. The secret omega in the Olympics and blackmail and kidnapping that came with it, the random gambling and blackmail that came with that, the ex girlfriend drama, the one substance sniffing dog. Just a bit exhausting.

Also the way team matches work at the end there are 2 final matches, a bronze and a gold, you don’t play the team who gets bronze and then play for gold or silver after lol,… the math doesn’t math.

“When everything’s on the line, can the pack still choose each other?”

The way I dropped everything when this showed up in my inbox. After that cliffhanger, I have quite literally been counting down the days. I am happy to say that this did not disappoint. It was the perfect conclusion to this duology. I reread the first book right before starting this one, partly because my memory sucks and the brain fog is real, but it was just as good the second time around. I will absolutely be rereading both of these often!

Everything about this was amazing! By the end of this book, the characters were all able to overcome their struggles. They were all very individualized with distinct personalities. Meggie balanced them all out nicely and their commitment to each other and their pack as a whole was really sweet. McQuinn’s character development was fantastic! The spicy scenes were very well written. They were hot, sweet, and beautiful all at once.

Thank you to the authors for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Pack hart. Once they get out of each others & their own way, they are made for each other.

I loved seeing the dynamic growth between Meggie & McQuinn (though I kept reading him as McQueen - yes I have kids). Their enemies to lovers relationship and seeing Meggie truly own her omega instincts!

I actually loved seeing Ava’s character development too.

I’m hoping there will be a book/storyline for Em and her guys too!

Happy reading!

So sad this my time with Pack Hart has come to an end. I fell in love with these Alphas even more. It was beautiful to see how this pack came together for each other and for Meggie. The mix of action and relationship development was perfect. The spice was on point - very hot and just the right amount. At times I felt frustrated over some character's actions and nervous about what would happen, but there was no need for me to worry because these authors had the story well in hand. The conclusion was satisfying and left me feeling positive about Pack Hart's future. I can't wait to read more omegaverse books from this duo!

Thank you to the authors for providing me an ARC.

RH MMMMM/Omegaverse/Sports/Multi PoV

SYNOPSIS (Duet): This is set in a world where everyone is either Alphas, Betas or Omegas. The FC, Meggie, presented as an Omega 2 years ago. She has always wanted to compete in the US Olympic Swim team but Omegas are not allowed to compete so she has hidden her designation and pretended to be a Beta. She doesn’t make the swim team in individual competition so tries out for the US Olympic Polo Team and is asked to join the Team and its pack (Pack Hart) for the duration of the games. She joins under the guise of a Beta which is what the pack believe her to be. The first Book covers Meggie’s training with the team, how she grows closer to each member and how they discover her secret. Book 2 covers the Olympics and what happens afterwards. This is set against a background of a nasty ex who is stalking her and having to hide her designation from the Olympic Committee.

Heat Level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/🍆🍆🍆🍆 The number of scenes ratchet up as the Duet progresses incorporating 1 to 1 and group scenes. They are relatively vanilla with no kink but a higher than usual amount of MM action. The scenes are hot and well written and do not go on for too long although they do become a little repetitive which seems to be a problem with some of these types of books where the author puts so many scenes in they cannot keep them fresh!

The Books are well written and decently edited with an engaging story. There is limited angst and drama with no very minimal violence. This duet is a fun, light read with a good sprinkling of sexy times😉

The characters are engaging with a strong FC who is not too OTT needy omega. In fact the omega/alpha interactions are relatively low level in that there is not too much of the alpha posturing and omega default needy, weak FC. It makes for a better read but it is less of an “Omegaverse” read than other books of this type. The MCs are all likeable and individual with none of them being particularly possessive or alpha in personality or behaviour. The only point I would make is that whilst most Omegaverse have MM action this duet has a lot of it and has at least two MM couples within the pack who have their own pre-existing relationships. It makes for an interesting read and, for me, I found that actually it detracted from the “Omega central to the pack” mentality as the main feel through the Duet was that actually the MMs in their individual relationships were closer to their male partners than the FC which gave an odd dynamic and resulted in a pack that was not as cohesive as you would usually expect.

The only other real niggle for me was the pet name that Ellis and Dante had for each other of “babr”. This annoyed me because I could not work out how this was supposed to be pronounced and so it jarred every time it came up😣

Otherwise this Duet is a light and enjoyable way to while away a few hours. A quick and easy read.

omg yall. I am a wreck rn.
I can't believe it's over.
who knew this story I got as an ARC about an omega whose dream was to go to the Olympics would wiggle its way into my heart as much as it did?
I am so happy for all these characters and reading about this found family situation has my heart so full.
I really loved the evolution of part one mcquinn to part two mcquinn. it's a miracle these two lovely authors got me to like him cause let's just say I don't think anyone was vibing with him🤣 but they did it and now I adore him🥹
not to pick favorites because if I'm being honest I love everyone equally but good lord. Harrison?? yes, please. he's my weakness. any scene with him in it I was just enraptured😫
this book had me so stressed out and I've decided it is a good thing I don't do sports anymore cause I could feel the anxiety through this book. 🤣
I appreciate Oz being the comedic relief we all needed. quite frankly I don't think I'll ever forget the name "Little Oz" or the mutilated gummy bears🤣
speaking of things I'll never forget I am deeply haunted by the idea of toilet frogs from part 1. like literally every time I go to the restroom I have the split-second thought of, "Wait what if there's a toilet frog in there"🤣
honestly, I just need more of these guys. I feel like I could live in this universe forever and never get tired.
oh and need I mention the spice in this!?!? omg😫 from the van incident on I was melted. so unbelievably good and a good thing for no celibacy!
I just loved this book so much.
and part one just released so go read that while you wait for this beauty to come out😘

I've been eagerly waiting for this book since the cliffy from book one!
It was so good being back with Meggie and the guys!
This book picks right up from where book one ended and seeing the guys lose their s**t was something else.
I'm so glad we got to understand them all abit more especially Mcquinn!
It made me fall in love with all the guys even more and Meggie was amazing dealing with everything.
The perfect ending for this duet!
I really hope this author duo pair up for more books because their writing together is so seamless!

how could you not love this?! tiny bit of stress /angst but didn't take away from the love and relationships. I laughed, I cried, I, well, ya know. ENJOYED IT! my biggest issue with both books is how long we have to wait for the good stuff....but damn its so worth the wait.

The first part of this duology was great: omega hiding her designation to compete in the Olympics and finding a water polo pack to help her achieve her gold medal dreams. Of course there is a toxic ex that the pack wants to protect her from, of course the alphas find themselves attracted to the new "beta" on their team without explanation - this was all headed in the right direction. I got lost when there was not one, but THREE plot twists of the underground gambling ring/illicit drugs purchase and use/kidnapping variety, that ended on a plot twist. If I had been reading this as it was released I would have been so mad. There was no reason to do all of that and have two parts to this reaching almost 600 pages.

I specifically rated the second portion of this duology lower than the first because it was absolutely unnecessary.

"You're worth everything to us. You hear me? Everything."

Open book. Read. Gasp. Sob. Sweat. Melt. Take a hydration break. Read some more. Sob some more. Smile. Read the duet again! This is the order of operation you will likely follow if you choose (and you should) to read this book. This was the perfect ending the duet and picked up right where Part 1 left off. Meggie and her alphas face their greatest challenges and have to make some tough decisions all while having adorable and off the charts spicy moments.

I loved this book and read it all in one sitting! This duet is hands down one of my favorite books of the year and I will be recommending it to everyone!

Absolutely loved part two! Picks up right where part one left off and kept me on my seat the whole time. Loved the character development, seemed to take the spotlight with conflict taking a back seat at times. I never want this world to end and am hoping this is not the last we see of Meggie and her men! It’s everything you want in a series!! Has everything book one had without the cliffhanger ending! An absolute must read!!! Can’t wait to read more from this amazing duo the is Thea Masen and Jenni Peck!!

Continuation of knot giving up part 1 (wish the titles were different though!)

Technically a spoiler for the end of book 1 and beginning of book 2 but… THAT’S NOT HOW CARS WORK. Most will auto lock doors when you drive which would prevent the whole kidnapping scenario and they don’t have child locks in the front seat (not to mention who takes the time to engage the child locks in the middle of kidnapping someone? It’s not hard but it does usually require the key).

Anyway. Sort of predictable plot but still cute.

Eh.

Downhill from book 1.

I really loved book 1. And was excited about book 2.

However book 2 left me wanting.

1. The bonding was so lackluster... it was a paragraph. Not even worth it. Felt like the authors didn't know how to write it and just didn't.
2. I think his name was Ox?? Why mention he might be attracted Harrison ?? (The pack leader) but not explore it?
3. That epilogue was crap. I wanted to know about more in the future. Did she have babies? Did they overturn thr omega rule. Etc.
4. Felt like the authors gave up on the story.

I really liked this conclusion to this duet! I honestly didn't know how ANY of what was wrong was going to work out for Pack Hart and Meggie, but I think that all the loose ends were tied up and I love a good HEA. I enjoyed this reverse harem, Omegaverse book and it's up there with some of my other favorite Omega books. It's got great components to it as well. Lots of drama, sex scenes (all kinds too! MM/MFM, group sex, kink exploration, etc.), getting through a heat, and a HEA. There's no way that you shouldn't read this if you read the first part of the duet - and if you haven't started the duet, you definitely should! I'm not a fan of most sports related books, but this was one that I really enjoyed. Even though the focus is heavily on their Olympic sport, it doesn't feel like it's up front and center and shoved into your face, which I liked about this book.

Even if I did feel like it was a little unfair, since Meggie and the guys have all been lying, breaking rules, and even breaking laws in some cases. They feel like all of it was justified because the rules are kind of shit for Omegas, but a lot of other teams followed the rules and Pack Hart, while the heroes of this particular story, do seem to luck out in all cases. If they hadn't had help from Ava when Meggie went into heat, they definitely would have been found out sooner by any other Olympic athlete or the IOC. If Emily hadn't been romantically involved with a DEA agent, Meggie would have been in a ton of shit and likely gone to jail for taking illegal suppressants. McQuinn accidentally gave Glenn what he wanted because of Dante's shoulder injury and doesn't have any consequences for placing illegal bets on his own team. It just seemed to all work out for Pack Hart without consequences. I mean - they promised to not compete in the next Olympic games, but they were already not planning on coming back, so was it really a consequence? And they even get around hiding the fact that Meggie was an Omega without any kickback by Harrison's connections to his reporter mom.

I'm glad that McQuinn finally got his head out of his ass and accepted his feelings for Nils AND for Meggie. I'm not sure why Meggie kept giving him chances to change his damn attitude, but I'm glad that she seemed to understand that he was just scared and emotionally closed off. Because their group sex scene on the roof? Chef's kiss.

I feel really badly for Ava. I mean sure, she seemed like she was a total crap bag. But she's the one that saved the pack when Meggie went into heat. And she did it for the woman who was banging her ex. If that isn't a beyond good person, I don't know what is. I think she's just misunderstood and doesn't know how to change how people see her or act differently. If I were her, I would have let them rot. Especially after Harrison dumped her and they seemingly chose Meggie over her. Not that that's what happened, but it definitely seems like it to an outside person.

I still just don't get why the pack couldn't fucking wait to be intimate with each other. Even after Harrison ordered them all to stay away from one another, they still fucking snuck around. It was only 11 damn days. Keep your shit in your pants and you can get to it later. That was the part that was really irritating to me in this book. I was a huge fan of all the sex scenes, but their "I just can't help it" attitude was childish. Think of the bigger picture! This is all of your dreams and you're throwing it away from hormones and a quick fix! Jesus.

There are some things that I would like to know more about! How does Nils do in medical school? Does Oz ever explore his "situationally bi" feelings, especially with Harrison? Does the IOC take away Pack Hart's silver medal? I think these questions could have been answered in an epilogue or with a bonus scene by signing up for a newsletter from the author or something. We don't get any view into the future with the pack, and I really would have liked to have seen what that looks like, even if it was just a brief one!

Even though it seems like I was more irritated than anything else based on the above review, I really did enjoy this book. I think it was well (if not conveniently) written, and you have to assume that a HEA book will take giant liberties with consequences so that our heroes/heroine get their HEA. That's kind of the point of the book. Definitely read this one!

Very cute! And perfectly coinciding with the current Olympics in Paris. It was fun to read this after having watched the Olympics irl this whole time.

It's been a while since I've read a why choose with so many love interests. My ability to suspend disbelief of this actually happening usually caps out at 4 love interests, but goes further when it's a polycule like this one.

So confession: I actually only skimmed the first book because I started it earlier this week and then I wanted to see if the OW drama got bad once I realized there would be some, and then I just kept skimming the highlights. I did myself a disservice because I think I actually would have enjoyed it, but I can't re-read things after I read (or skim) them once because the suspense is what keeps me reading.

So with that said, I still decided to read this today when it came out. And it was not disappointing. I loved reading their worries and troubles of trying to establish their pack while also trying to follow their dreams. The ending was a little bittersweet, but not for the reason I expected. And most of all, the pack seemed very established and working well together by the end, which I love. I love reading it all come together.

I did feel a couple of her alphas could have done with a bit more apologizing. She just kept accepting their curt behavior towards her and only wanting to see the best in them, which I guess can be a good thing, but still I wanted them to come to her on their own and not because she was so persistent she wore them down until they realized what they were missing. They were very sweet to her once they got over their issues though, so it wasn't that big of a deal by the end.

There were a few things that happened that I was pleasantly surprised by. The OW from the first book took a surprising turn that I liked. And it seems like the bsf might get a series of her own? The ending was also one that I really liked, even though what I was rooting for to happen didn't happen. It almost felt more realistic and also more meaningful because they immediately made a decision in that moment that in book one they all argued heavily about. It showed growth as a pack and showed where their priorities were by the end. Love that.

Definitely recommend if you're looking for an omv with Olympic themes. My only wish is that we got to see the outcome of what happened a little further into the future.

that'll be a yes from me 😁❤️

I don't do book reports ( as others will do it much better than I can ) .... but if you enjoy omegaverse and want to get lost in another world for a while ...
Grab a bunch of snacks and do yourself a favour and read this duet ....

Looking forward to reading more from these talented writers ❤️

⭐️ because the author deserves some recognition and kudos for taking the time and energy to write this - (but please don’t make me read it again) … however correct word use / spelling / grammar / punctuation / professional proof reading and editing are a vital necessity all writers need to fully embrace like a long lost and greatly desired lover and never let go of …

⭐️⭐️ so close and yet so far for … loved the concept just not the delivery for various reasons … but most likely because of the glaringly obvious lack of professional proofreading and editing skills … and /or … one … if not all … of the main characters made me want to slap them (and not in a good / fun/ sexy way) because they were utterly annoying or worse boring …. but i am sure some other readers will love it… just not me ..

⭐️⭐️⭐️ things that make you go hmmmm …. but not : oh my god yes give me more … and because correct spelling/ grammar/ punctuation and professional proof reading and editing of a book are essential for any story to flow smoothly …. still worth the time to read … who knows you might love it …

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ definitely worthy of songs of praise and numerous re reads …
but not quite a 5⭐️ simply because of editing/ spelling / grammar / punctuation/ wrong words used / wrong names or wrong physical descriptions of main characters / minor story line issues (all things that are a pet hates of mine and make me grumpy) which interrupted the flow of the story and forced me out of my happy reading bubble and back into reality …

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ gah… I’ve found the meaning of life and couldn’t stuff the story into my greedy brain fast enough …. loved it so much i will willingly make snacks / give massages / oversee human sacrifices if it helps the author ( who is a true god/ goddess of story telling and worthy of worship and copious amounts of adulation ) write more books immediately so i can buy them and hoard them like a wanna be dragon ….
in other words … drop everything and read this book right now and you can thank me later 😁

“I’m so glad i lost that swim competition and didn’t make it onto the Olympic swim team. I’ve never been so grateful for a failure before. But that failure brought me here. To my men. To my home.”

✔️MMMMFMM sweet omegaverse why choose romance
✔️Olympic water polo team
✔️secret omega and six alphas
✔️low angst
✔️teammates to lovers, forced proximity
✔️first (surprise) heat, no cheating, choosing or breakup, scent matches, bonding

4.75⭐️ rounded up

This is the perfect conclusion to Meggie and Pack Hart’s story! The pack has to finally decide once and for all — do they bring Meggie to the Olympics even with the major risks to their reputations and her safety, or do they leave her behind and risk the pack bonds they are forging? Meggie is strong and won’t go down without a fight, and of course, everything works out as it should for their family.

Some readers may not like the way that problems are solved so easily in this story, but that is actually one of the things I like the most about it. Pack building and relationship bonding really is the focus in this story, everything else is really just background to keep the plot moving and a reason for there to be a story in the first place. I like the unexpected ally twist that was thrown in there toward the end and the character growth we see from McQuinn and Harrison (but especially McQuinn). His relationship with Meggie has always been strained (really, almost non-existent) but his reasoning makes sense and the way they solve it together between the two of them is so sweet. The heat scene was hot and emotional and the build up to this pivotal pack building scene paid off.

I love a good low angst, spicy, cozy & sweet omegaverse and this duet fits those vibes. Both books are fairly quick reads and though there are a lot of members in this pack it really doesn’t feel overwhelming like I thought it would when I picked it up, and each member brings something different to the family. I am excited to read the holiday novella next and get a peek into their happily ever after!

This duology was literally such a perfect way to take my mind off of being sick and one of my saviours from my fever dreams last night when I was getting frustrated about not being able to fall back asleep due to the constant heavy stress my body was under. Such an enjoyable, emotional, hot and heavy duology. I loved Meggie and I loved the guys, although sometimes I could not get behind the words that came out of Harrison’s mouth and wanted to rip the sticks out of both his and McQuinn’s asses. They drove me slightly mad at times, but I do still like them both.

”This moment would be perfect if only Harrison and McQuinn didn’t take the seats farthest away from me, and if Em didn’t have ingrown hairs. Oh, and if I was legally allowed to be here.”

Like I said briefly in my review under Part 1, there were things I wish were more fleshed out and given more time to develop, and since there was a lot of other stuff happening in this part, I think it would’ve benefited from being a bit longer. Especially towards the end it felt like things were maybe a bit rushed and I would’ve loved to see them out of the Olympics, relishing in their new bonds a lot longer. I also wish some of the relationships in the pack had been given a bit more daylight and on-page development, and although it was funny as hell that Oz got some kind of late bi-awakening at the end (no, but he’s totally straight though, he just finds Harrison’s body and his moans super hot, no homo), it was a bit random because it obviously didn’t have time to get explored at all (assuming there’s no third part incoming).

“Have any of you ever stacked donuts on your penis?”

But one thing these books nailed was humor. From Oz’s sudden bi-panic, to the rest of the guys having to splash water on their pack alpha while he’s balls deep in Meggie to get his head straight, to funny one-liners, I was definitely entertained. I loved the characters’ personalities and their dynamics together. There were laugh-out-loud moments, there were swooning moments, and sometimes I was a puddle on the floor.

Overall, a solid read by my omegaverse standards, and for how rare those are, I thank whatever goodreads spiral or rh subreddit rec had me find this. I was getting so frustrated with not finishing any of the books (even the good ones that I was enjoying 😩) I had started.

I received an ARC from the authors and I am leaving a voluntary review.

**

3.5 stars (rounded up to 4 for the app).

The second book starts right where the first book ended, which is nice as we don't have to wait to see how the cliffhanger is resolved. We also get to follow the pack as they make it to Paris and start to fight for that medal.

The plot and the book move really fast, it feels almost faster than the first book. There's also a good amount of spice as some of the pack dynamics are established and Meggie and her men are feeling the pull towards one another a lot.

I liked how the Olympic Village was depicted in the book and I still feel the pack dynamics work. There is some tension between the men (both good and tricky) but the love all pack members feel towards one another is still clear. I like how we get to know McQuinn a lot better in this book when his backstory was revealed but I would've wished more from the other men as well. All in all, I didn't feel as much connection to everyone in the pack as I would've hoped. Meggie is still lovely and I enjoy her as the omega of the pack. Her friendship with Emily is also painted well and I love the support she gives Meggie and the pack.

There are a few secondary characters that got left a little shallow but it wasn't a major thing. I do think the pacing and all the subplots got a little confusing at some point because of two-dimensional minor characters and I think the main story would've been stronger had it stood on its own. The ending was good and I do like how things got wrapped up for Pack Hart though, so it's all good in the end.

This was a fun omegaverse to get drawn into. It is book 2 of 2 in the Knot giving up Duet.

It's about this wonderful girl named Meggie who has dreamed of nothing but the Olympics all her life. She has to hide her designation in order to make them happen, and even still her chance is taken away from her by mere milli seconds. Not all is lost though, because her BFFs Big brother needs a good swimmer to join his water polo team, and Meggie is just the girl to fill the spot.

The water polo team, also a pack, consists of Ellis, Dante, McQuinn, Nills, Ozren and Harrison. Ellis and Dante are an established couple, McQuinn and Nills have a.. semi established relationship, while Oz and Harrison are the straighter ones of the group.

Because this is book 2 - The following will involve some spoilers.

The start of the book picks up right where we left off, with Meggie going missing and Daniel being the one that took her. It gets solved very quickly, and non violently (for the most part) and no harm comes to Meggie at all. So yay for that. During the second book, the pack has decided to compete and keep her secret, but when everything begins to go right, a lot of things go wrong, including police officers with drug sniffing dogs, illegal suppressants going missing and an unexpected heat. Also included, which was one of my least favorite things, is a lot of Jealousy within the pack, from a certain someone. It happens in the first book too, but I'd really prefer if he took the stick out of his behind much sooner than he does. when you read it, you'll understand.

Amazing book, fun sports twist - Never read a water polo romance before. Highly Recommend.
