I was never meant to lead this life, too young to take the position that was rightfully mine, forced into the shadows instead. But I left my mark on a man who had every right to kill me. A promise that I won't stop until his blood was on my hands.

Tide
I was given this role with no preparation, left in the dark trying to find my way out. Yet, I was born for it, destined to fill my father’s shoes and follow the path he created for me—until she came along. Now I'll stop at nothing until she's mine.
Sink With Me is a enemies to lovers open door dark romance that includes darker topics, explicit content, and profanity. Recommended for mature readers only. This novel is a military romance but not in the way you would think.
wow! This is Trin’s debut novel and also the first military romance I’ve read so I didn’t know what to expect! I will say it took me a bit to get into it, but once I got past the first few chapters I was so invested.. and by the half way mark I was obsessed! This was a very good enemies to lovers story and I loved their banter as well! also can we talk about Tide? whew! I LOVE a man that is obsessed and honeyyyyyy Tide is as obsessed as they come! Sharkie is a very strong fmc! I love when the fmc’s aren’t broken and weak. So that was a plus! Oh and ummm the twist? the betrayal? I feel like I should have saw that coming.. but yeah, that was crazy! I’m excited to read the future books in this world and I really hope Moe gets a book!

interesting premise, but the execution didn’t work for me. the beginning was confusing since there was so little backstory about the feud between the 2 sides and it took me a while to grasp the story. what's even more jarring was the cordelia, she was described as this badass killing machine, yet that side of her rarely even showed. she came across as weak and incompetent. i genuinely wondered if i was even reading about the same character at some point
How do you rate a book that 50 % confused you and 50 % entertained you? Because I still don't know...😅
"Sink With Me" by Trin Savage is a CoD inspired dark military romance. The world-building is rather intense, with secret societies raging secret wars against each other. In the middle of it, Sharkie and Tide.
Tide or Caspian is your kind of man if you like them unhinged. He gets a kick out the fact that Sharkie almost slit his throat with a smile on her face. His first action after surviving her was to keep a picture of her in his pocket 24/7 and dream about making her his. Maybe not the most conventional form of flirting.
Sharkie, on the other hand, is a bad ass soldier with a thing for pickles. And I'm not talking about what's in Tide's cargo pants. Forced into the role of a human killing machine, Sharkie doesn't live life she survives it. Being captured by Tide definitely wasn't something she expected. Being turned on by him even less.
But the secret behind the war between the two fractions quickly forces Sharkie and Tide into a one-sided alliance. An alliance, according to Tide that needs Sharkie to stay in his quarter, in his bed, and in his t-shirts.
Have you ever read something that you can properly comprehend after you read the entire thing, but not while reading it? Because that was my main problem reading this novel. My brain just had a hard time keeping up with the many names, the world building, and all the small details that flew over my head. Yet, I did not hate it...Which in my world means 3 stars, and see you when I get to book 2 (featuring Ghost inspired MMC).
Sink With Me is the first Trin Savage book I've read. I thoroughly enjoyed it even though it took me a bit to get into it.
Once I got past the first few chapters, I devoured the rest!! I love Tide and Sharkie's dynamic. They are the most entertaining yet crazy couple of characters I've read lately and it just makes me fall in love with them even more.
Trin writes a good character backstory for each of the MCs and she does well with character development throughout the book. Even though I would have preferred more...I enjoyed the amount of spice Trin wrote into the book!!
Overall I definitely 100% recommend this book for everyone!! I'm just sad it's over
Sink With Me was a great read. I did not expect the plot twists! I love how obsessive Tide was. I enjoyed how bad ass Sharkie was. If you're a fan of enemies to lovers and he falls first, then this book is definitely for you. Trin Savage is a fabulous writer. I highly recommend reading her book. I'm looking forward to reading more books by her in the future!

i found this book through the author's tiktok, and when i saw the words "call of duty inspired romance", i ran to pick it up unfortunately, i was disappointed
let's start with the most obvious part - of course the author couldn't just copy the characters from the game and paste them into her story. but it could be at least somewhat cohesive. i mean, it's quite obvious from the start that tide is inspired by john price (because the author keeps mentioning the cigars he's smoking and how the scent lingers everywhere), but then he's doing the whiskey/bourbon bit that's ghost's. what's even worse, there is a ghost inspired character - sam (aka simon). and yet the only thing that's similar between the two is the appearance. why not give ghost's bit to the ghost inspired character, i have no idea that's pretty much it on the similarities between this book and call of duty. for an "inspired" romance, i was waiting for much more than that
now let's move on to the plot. our couple - sharkie and tide - meet four years before the main plot begins. she knows who he is... and yet she doesn't kill him. why? i have no clue either. after that happens, we travel forward in time and see how much tide's obsessed with sharkie. and at first, i could see why - she's a dangerous enemy that takes out his men. and i could get him being physically attracted to her - i mean, she is good-looking, and it's hard for him not to admire her as a fellow soldier as well. but he's a commander. he surely has better things to do than watch her pictures and think about how beautiful she is all the damn time (since that's pretty much all he does before they meet). sharkie, on her end, is finally tasked with getting into the depth's hq and taking out tide (like she should've done four years ago). and just before she has to leave, she goes into town and meets guess whom? of course, the same enemy she's supposed to kill. for some reason, tide travelled all the way to where she lived just to stalk her from a closer distance than usual. he watches her through the windows of her building and just leaves without actually saying or doing anything. and than it's never mentioned again. sharkie goes to the depth's hq by ship (which she really doesn't like, and the portrayal of her fear is one of the few good things about this book). but when they almost reach the shore, someone sinks her ship. we know from the start it's not tide, so it's not hard to figure out whose work it is (and that's how you don't do the intrigue in your book). tide gets sharkie out of the water (why, though? she's literally your strongest enemy - just let her die) and locks her up in a cell. sharkie's understandably rude to everyone, refusing any sort of medical help and just being a major pain in tide's ass, and tide doesn't even talk to her, sending sam as his messenger instead. later, she's moved into a fancier cell, and that's where the disgusting shit starts happening. i mean, i can understand having the camera in her cell point at the shower - it's a good humiliation tactic. and i can understand his body having a reaction to seeing a hot naked woman. but him actually rubbing one off to the sight of her, getting off on her being tortured like this without her previous consent? absolutely the fuck not. that's not romance - that's simply abuse marketed as such. same goes for everything that happens later in that book. time goes on, and tide decides to finally get a move on the investigation and try to figure out who sunk sharkie's ship and why. and his brilliant idea is to interrogate sharkie (who's just as confused as he is). during this interrogation, they fight, but then she suddenly realises she's aroused and lets him fuck the intel out of her. and here we go, once again confusing a body's physiological reaction with our actual feelings and intentions. her getting aroused during a fight didn't mean she wanted him - it simply meant adrenaline was taking its effects. and what happened next was coercion, if not downright rape. after they fucked, sharkie gets moved to an even fancier cell - tide's private quarters. they start living together, go into town like a couple, have "deep" conversations after they go at it like animals. but not once have i seen anything that shows these two are a good couple beyond their physical attraction to each other. they don't have common goals or interests, they see things differently, they don't open up to each other about things that truly matter. they just find each other hot and fuck. that's it. and then comes the ending, which was so confusing and fast-paced that i had to re-read it several times just to understand what was going on (and honestly, i still don't). karma shows up at depth's hq, gives sharkie the poison for tide so she can kill the man she supposedly loves. after tide's poisoned, karma and sharkie run away to meet up with dutton, and here's where thing start getting weird. turns out dutton was in love with sharkie's mother and tried to get her father out of the picture. karma is his daughter, and moe (tide's brother) is actually his son. sharkie somehow killed tide's parents (well, she gave the order for them to be killed), and tide just forgives her for that like it's nothing. then, all the bad guys die, and our couple lives their happily ever after (and fucks in one of the last chapters because of course this book needed another sex scene)
so as we can see, the plot is a hot mess. and so are the characters. sharkie does a complete 180 for no reason in the middle of the book simply so the "romance" part can finally begin, tide is a gooner whose only function in the novel is to get hard-ons whenever he's around sharkie, and the other characters are so insignificant i never even mentioned them while retelling the plot because they don't influence the plot at all
the book (or at least my copy of it) was riddled with typos and grammatical mistakes, and it could benefit a lot from some thorough editing. in the end, i gave it two stars simply because the sex scenes were really well-written and there were a couple lines that showed us the author actually knows how to write
good concept, terrible execution

I fucking loved reading Sink With Me, it was such a great book. I ended up reading it really quickly. I loved the banter and interactions between the two main characters. There are unexpected twists and betrayals that I didn’t see coming. Love and danger mix. I’m giving this book a 5 out of 5 ⭐️s. I enjoyed the plot line and loved the main characters. I highly recommend reading this book, trust me you’ll love it. I’m excited to read the 2nd book about Sam and Jasmine.
Who doesn’t love a possessive, obsessed, unhinged, and psychotic MMC. The FMC is a badass, she’s strong, determined, brave, stubborn, smart and twisted. He’s sick and she’s twisted, the perfect match.
‼️Make sure to read the trigger warnings ‼️

This was a first time read from Trin and I will say this book was a great read. It swallowed me whole once I started reading there was no turning back. Every time I thought about putting it down I ended up grabbing it again just to see what happens next.
“Go to sleep, little siren.” -tide “Why do you calm me that?” -sharkie “You have the dangerous allure that makes me want to get lost in you..””…even when I know youll lead me to my demise I can’t resist being drawn in like a sailor to treacherous cliffs. You’re my siren. I shouldn’t want you but I do.” -tide

After everything she struggles to trust not only the ones she grew up with but her enemy that makes her also feel safe. They each will have to learn to either trust each other and work together to get the truth or they will be each others end it it all.
Sink with me is a Military romance that follows the story of Sharkie and Tide. ~ It did take me a couple of chapters to get into the swing of it but then I couldn’t put it down! I love the crazy dynamic between the MMC & FMC, they are a wild duo for sure 🖤 ~ I love a feisty FMC in books and this has it in SPADES. I absolutely loved the FMC in this! ~ The nicknames, the spice, the twists and the tension just kept me turning the pages.
4 stars ✨ great dark military romance read! Badass fmc and an obsessive brooding mmc, I must admit I got a little lost with certain information etc but still, this was worth the read!
~ “Make me the monster. Let me be the one to scare you.”
Oh wow this book had my attention continuously! I loved the chemistry between the characters and The storyline had my emotions all over the place it was insane!!
The writing was so well done, everything was explained so well and it made me feel like i was in the story itself and just the way the characters were written was *chefs kiss*
I cant wait to see more from this author 🖤🖤
Tropes 🔥kidnapped 🔥enemies to lovers 🔥obsession 🔥touch her and ☠️
FINALLY! A good Call of Duty based series! When I first heard of this author having actually played COD herself made me very excited! & she did not disappoint! He’s a mix of Soap, Ghost & Price! She’s a little like Ghost herself. They have the 2 factions! This was amazing! I absolutely LOVED this! As a COD girly myself, I APPROVE! 🖤
So I got the pleasure of reading this book and I loved it! I really enjoyed the plot and how it was enemies to lovers. I also loved that it was military and inspired by COD. Also can we take a moment to just appreciate the actual cover of the book 😍
…No I’ve read better on A03 and they don’t get paid for it.
This is all I’m going to say because I’m not about to write a whole college essay. If you’re going to write about a book with a certain topic PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD do research on that topic with the whys, how’s, withs, ect.
I’ve never thought to delve into military romance’s before and boy, oh boy, have I been missing out! Don’t get me started about the tropes, it gives us enemies to lovers, touch her and die, captive/captor, obsession, revenge and so much more!
Sink With Me had me hook, line and sinker, from the twisty plot, to the steamy sexual tension, to well written main and side characters. Everyone had a purpose to serve in the book, no one felt like they were out of place or didn’t quite belong. It took a few chapters for me to get the feel of it but once things started ramping up, I was 100% invested.
We have our badass FMC Sharkie, real name Cordelia, who is part of Bay, a secret faction to help keep the world safe. She’s an absolute machine at what she does and she does it well, leaving battlefields running red to avenge her parent’s death at the hands of Depth, another secret faction. But more specifically, she’s gunning for Tide and nothing will get in her way. She’s strong willed, sarcastic, vulnerable but in no way is she weak or fragile. She just needs to be shown it’s okay to slow down and be human every once in a while, to feel things other than the burning need of revenge.
We have our obsessive MMC Tide, real name Caspian, Depth’s leader. After taking over Depth after his father’s death, Tide has vowed to turn over a new leaf and have his faction do good again. But after an encounter with Sharkie that left Tide with a very memorable scar on his throat, he’s been obsessed. She should’ve killed him, could’ve killed him, but she didn’t. He needs her, he keeps her photo on his person at all times, he’s been waiting for her and with her new mission being to infiltrate his base, he’s got her right where he wants her. But if he thinks she’ll come quietly, he’s got another thing coming.
I loved the banter and interactions between characters, main and side, it all flowed nicely and gave the characters depth. The slow burn, the tension, the back and forth, I was getting antsy with the all the edging. But when the tension broke, holy moly, it broke and I was left extremely satisfied.
The plot twist and betrayal came out of nowhere, I did not guess it at all. I had some suspicions but I was still left gobsmacked when it was all revealed. I couldn’t tell how the book was going to end after it all went down but what a ride it was. I can’t wait to get stuck into book 2, that follows Sam and Jasmine’s story. I am now 100% adding more military romances to my TBR and I can’t wait to see how the rest of Trin’s books play out!
Sink With me is a dark military romance, which has become a part of my subconscious thanks to TikTok. I love military setting in books. And when you add the enemies to lovers trope, I was a fish trapped in a net.
However, I have to say right off the bat that I was thoroughly annoyed by the book and it took me an incredibly long time to get through it. I was absolutely unable to bite into the book in such a way as to hold my attention for more than a chapter. I guess I was missing some element in the story that would hook me and not let go.
Even though I discovered the main villain quite early in the story, I have to admit that the author still managed to surprise me with some elements, and I loved that about the book. Like this review, my feelings are pretty conflicted after finishing the book, so I'll try to summarize. The story wasn't bad at all, the setting was cool, and you could tell Trin had definitely done her research well. Sink With Me is pretty much packed with interesting passages and quotes that I saved. And yes, I understand that the shifting of those thought processes - or feelings at odds with the training needed to be fleshed out and I totally get that FMC was quite conflicted, but it had more of a spiralling effect on me in places and I would have easily enjoyed more of some danger, some more intrigue or action instead of these descriptions.
And even though Sharkie and Tide had super chemistry with each other and fit together like two puzzle pieces, I still don't really know what exactly triggered his insta-obsession with her.
So I'm staying somewhere around the middle with my rating. I really wanted so badly to love this book. It definitely wasn't a bad one, but it didn't blow my mind like Leave Me Behind did either.
I finished reading 'Sink with me' written by Trin Savage. This is a dark military romance and the first book in the 'Chaotic Love' series.
"Keep on swimming, little fish. I'll catch you soon enough. I just hope my hook doesn't cut too deep before I get the information I need."
This story was really surprising to me and also very unique. It took a bit for me to get into the story, but when I was in it, I was really in it. I didn't want to stop reading. Some parts were a little hard to understand, but it didn't make the story less fun to read.
"If you're a walking machine, the most dangerous thing can't hurt you: other people."
This story is about Caspian and Cornelia. Caspian is part of Depth and Cordelia of Bay. They are part of different 'factions' and they are in war with each other. They hate each other, but it's not just hate, it's obsession.
"A boy will let these demons haunt him; a man will feed them to the sharks and move on."
I love reading a good 'enemies to lovers', like a lot of my fellow book lovers. And this story is the champion among 'enemy to lovers' stories. It's full of tension, adventure, action, fear, strength and so much more. With a love story that's insane.
"I just know it's easier to die for someone than to live for them."
This story is strong and it's actually written with a military style at the beginning of every chapter. Giving it an extra charm. These aspects in combination with trauma and still trying to find some light along the way make a story very enjoyable to read. I give it four stars.
This is based on Call of Duty. What version of Call of Duty? I'm assuming whatever one has the hot masked men. I've never played the games. I have watched all of the cut scenes and some important gameplay because I, too, have a crippling fascination with masked men and the Ghost x Soap ship (judge me not, heathens!)
So I read this and I guess I can see where the inspiration came from but the world building was so terribly lackluster in this, you could say it was inspired by any paramilitary based game and it would have fit that as well. The lack of world building had me hung up from start to finish. Where were these factions actually based? Why are these factions a thing? Are they government sanctioned? Why are governments just letting them blow up multiple ships with no recourse? It was just so vague that it crippled the story for me. Couple that with the fact that there is no plot beyond Tide/Caspian being obsessed with Sharkie/Cordelia and trying to orgasm her into submission.
So many times there were fight scenes or just scenes with more than three characters interacting and I found myself lost on what all was happening. The writing just didn't flow clearly or concisely. It's clear this is a debut novel and I don't mean that as a complete insult. The writing talent is there; it will just take more work to clean it up for great novels to follow.
"If she's ever going to cry it'll be for me. Each tear, smile, and scowl will be mine." ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌶️🌶️ I don't know exactly what I was expecting when I started but it wasn't this. Sharkie and Tide are like a military coded Romeo and Juliet. There's what I think is a secret society hidden in reality as we know it. The world building is slightly confusing but it feels intentional to keep the reader off balance. The feeling of being disorientated and off center really comes through in Sharkies POV, which again, feels very intentional given what we learn about her background. Sharkie bounces from thought to thought without much to follow but it still all fits together. The conditioning and subsequent psychosis she goes through is rough, even if we only get a glimpse of it. Tide on the other hand, is a bit easier to follow even if he does flip flop pretty hard with how he feels about Sharkie. The underlying commonality he has the entire time is how obsessed he is with her, he just can't decide if he wants to keep or kill her. I did thoroughly enjoy this even if I was a little lost at times. The chemistry between Sharkie and Tide is fantastic, the fact that neither of them can decide what exactly to make of one another, really sells this for me.
As a Call of Duty fan, I knew I had to get this book since I knew that the author used to be a Call of Duty fanfic writer. When I read the first couple of pages I was hooked, and I really enjoyed how it was laid out, how each different POV got a different picture according to their call sign. I love Sharkie and Tide's dynamic. AND THE OBSESSION?!?! Yes please. Tide kinda reminds me of Simon Riley and John Price (iykyk). This is now my ultimate favourite book and read. Well done to Trin Savage for an awesome book. And I LOVE their names!! Cordelia (Sharkie) and Caspian (Tide)! So cute!
The story is about two soldiers from two opposing factions, the Bays and the Depths, which arose after the War of Chaos. One to protect the land and one to protect the sea.
As a debut novel I thought, WOW! She writes so well! This is the first military romance I have read and I am glad I chose this one to begin with. What a story. I cannot wait to read the second one in the series (Burn for Me), I just know it’s going to be great. Can’t wait for number 3!
🌊touch her and die, obsession, he gets a tattoo for her 🥺, he falls first, enemies to lovers. 🦈great FMC, both in military, age gap, stalking, enemies to lovers. 🌶️3/5 ⭐️5/5
Obsessed That’s the best word to use for this book I absolutely loved it! It kept me on my toes with so many twists and turns! As the story progressed and things became clearer on what happened in the past, I had assumed one person was the cause of it all, to only be wrong and it was actually someone else (with the help of the other person). I hope that makes some sense because I don’t want to leave spoilers.
I think I’m in love with Sharkie 😍 She is a badass solider who was trained by being tortured and has a dark past. She holds her ground and battles her enemies as well as her own demons. She fights as hard as she can until Tide takes over her thoughts
Tide, Tide, Tide… Oh how I love how obsessed he is over our little Sharkie She’s his enemy without knowing the full truth of why they are at war He saw her and instantly became obsessed while still thinking he was still going to ☠️ her if she didn’t ☠️ him first. Once he saved her life and threw her in a cell, there was no going back. He was keeping her until one of them died
I’m starting Sam and Jasmines book next because I am obsessed with their world 🖤
When I first started this book, I really wasn't enjoying it. I ended up reading the first chapter and putting it down for a bit, opting to take a break and try again later. I finally went back to it and I'm SO glad I did!!
It turned out my struggle to fall into the story when I first started was due to it being so different from what I had finished reading a few hours before, a fantasy/supernatural setting. My brain just wasn't adjusting to the more real world/present time setting immediately after finishing something so different. Getting back into the book after a mental reset, I was immediately sucked into the world of Sink With Me!
I came across this series on TikTok, probably as a result of my #booktok #callofduty history. I am a big Call of Duty fanby! I play the games and read fanfics so I was excited to hear Trin Savage started her writing career writing her own. I definitely HAD to try a series with the MMC's "based" on the COD men. It did not disappoint! I loved the enemies to lovers transition as well as the surprise twist at the end (no spoilers).
I read this book twice in this time frame because of somethings going on in my personal life. Anywayyyy, needless to say, I’m happy that I did! There’s not many books that can hold my attention twice. (Insert cheeky emoji here lol) I will say, there were some parts I was screaming at Sharkie. I won’t say because spoilers but iykyk!!! Little pick me energy… which now that I think of it… makes total sense for her age. There is also a plot twist (or two) that got me! Wow, wow, wow! I really enjoyed this book; and dare I say, Trin Savage is now one of my favorite authors. I am continuing the series and I’m excited to read more of her work.
Trin, if by chance you ever read this, please continue writing! Your attention to details and story telling are phenomenal. You seamlessly made the MMC the perfect character that exemplified the 3 COD characters you were aiming for. Just ordered “Hide From Me” and started “Burn for Me” today!
***honest review and bought this book myself. I’d buy it again :)
“Maybe one day I will be with a man who looks at me like I’m the only fish in the sea, just as he does her.”
I was expecting a military romance(light grey but not dark romance) and I definitely got it. Not in a way I thought I would but just as good! By that I just mean it’s not like the other dark military romances I’ve read… it’s a different type of military than our actual military! I would think of it more like S.H.I.E.L.D………….. This is definitely a great book and I loved the characters Sharkie was great I loved how dedicated she was to doing her job and she didn’t give up on her task not even in the end! Tide he’s your typical morally grey man that would kill any man or woman that even looked Sharkie’s way! I enjoy that they are both doing their best for their parents sake and that everything worked out in the end. I was definitely kept on my toes nearing the end of the book. The hints of things getting ready to take a dramatic turn!! I really started thinking when tide saw the red bun but didn’t question it just wrote it off! Definitely took many turns after that! In the end i absolutely loved the book and i highly recommend it!! 🖤

🦈 Sink With Me is like getting caught in a rip current of lust, danger, and so many plot twists that you’ll need a map to find your jaw on the floor. Sharkie and Tide? Oh, they’re the perfect mix of chaos and chemistry, her, a badass with a kill list, and him, a morally grey heartthrob who can’t decide if he wants to kiss her or kill her 🦈
❤️🔥The banter had me grinning, the steam had me fanning myself, and the twists? Don’t even get me started—my head’s still spinning. Sharkie’s unraveling mind and Tide’s obsessive, possessive vibe are a wild ride you won’t want to get off of. If you’re into dark, delicious romance with a side of danger, Sink With Me will pull you under—and trust me, you won’t want to come back up for air!❤️🔥
