Pagājušajā gadā tiku saticis kristiešus, kas man parādīja kā lasīt Bībeli. Kristiešus, kas pazīst dzīvo Dievu. Nevis elkdievus, viltus praviešus vai reliģijas, bet īstu, klātesošu, dzīvu Dievu.

Kopš tā laika es nespēju lasīt nevienu citu grāmatu, jo, kad lasu Dieva Vārdu, pasaule apstājas. Burtiski.
Un lai gan Dieva Vārda izlasīšana pēc fakta gan būtu mazākais visā procesā, taču, kad rakstu vietas trāpa ar aktualitāti mūsdienās, vai, piemēram, Vecā derība savijas ar Jauno derību, vai, vienkārši, rakstu vietas atnāk kā gadiem meklētā atbilde, tad tieši tā arī ir, ka neko citu lasīt pat neapsveru, zinot cik daudz pasaulē ir maldu mācības un puspatiesības.

Ar Džima Hornbergera "ESCAPE TO GOD" ir pavisam citādi. Tā nonāca man rokās gluži nejauši, esot ciemos pie jau minētajiem kristiešiem. Grāmata nāca, kad jau labu laiku alku saprast- Kā tas ir, dzirdēt Dieva balsi? un,- Tapt Dieva vadītam teju ikvienā dzīves situācijā? Jo Dievs taču mūs katru ir radījis ar noteiktu mērķi, un neviens nevar labāk pateikt kāds ir mūsu aicinājums dzīvē. Mēs paši varam tikai sadomāties uz savu galvu.

Hornbergera 20 gadu dzīves stāsts atklāj ne tikai to kā sadzirdēt Dievu praktiski, bet atklāj arī daudz pārsteidzošas epizodes par to kā mūs vada Dievs, pie nosacījuma, ja mēs pilnīgi paļaujamies uz Viņa vadību.

Even though it took very long for me to finish this book (as I'm a slow reader when it comes to non-fiction), this book is a great companion and also act as a reminder for me to just seek God as He is just a prayer away. He never changes, never leaves, despite all of our sins and wrongdoings. This book reminds me that in order to live the way God wants us to live, we just have to listen and focus on Him.

The question is do we want to take that step to listen and focus on Him and leave the world behind?

Skvela motivace k budovani kazdodenniho, hlubokeho, uprimneho a ziveho vztahu s Bohem. Absolutni zavislost na Bohu. Podstata krestanstvi tkvi v zivote v moci Ducha svateho - kazdou minutu - vliv na nase vztahy, praci, sluzbu...
Akorat obcas se mi zda, ze se moc slepe modli za svuj prospech - zpozdene letadlo a nebere v potaz, ze PB muze mit jiny plan, dalsi lidi se modli presne naopak atd..
