Of course we had to read this the night before my daughter turned 2 years old. She absolutely loves Mickey...her party was themed for Minnie Mouse!
This book is about Mickey's birthday. He sees his friends with a bunch of seemingly party supplies. But then they each ask Mickey to help with something, but it's never taking him to his birthday party. To spoil the surprise, his friends do end up throwing him a surprise party!
My daughter LOVED this book because all her favorite characters are in it. She also loved seeing all the party stuff - balloons, cups, cake, candles, presents, etc. She was already excited for her own party, and this just made it even more exciting for her.
There were only a couple of simple sentences on each page. It made it a nice short story for bedtime, but long enough to wind down and of course we spent extra time on each page looking at the pictures.
This is a perfect birthday book for the Mickey or Minnie lover in your family!
Can't beat the Mouse! Joe LOVED this one. It has Mickey and friends AND CAKE. We are told at the beginning of the book that it is Mickey's birthday, and see him observe his friends walk by with cake and balloons. The rest of the book is suspense-building: every time Mickey encounters a friend he wonders if this friend will finally take him to his party. You'll have to read the book (it's like a 5 min read) to find out if Mickey ever gets his party!
A very nice story time book read. It is not drawn in cgi style or in Mickey's clubhouse style. It is drawn like the original mickey books, which I find fantastic. It is more beautiful and well thought out. This picture book is especially good for boys because Mickey is the main character. We see what he does since waking up. Girls will enjoy it as well because there are nice drawings of Minnie and Daisy, as well as an entertaining plot. ✨✨✨✨✨
We read this as a collection pack with a total of 6 Mickey & Friends stories. Mickey thought he knew what was going on, only to wind up disappointed when his guesses weren't correct. In reality, his friends where planning better than his guessing could account for. Of course his friends wouldn't forget his birthday though.

Nothing really incredible about this book. It's a fairly generic book of the characters. It's Mickey's birthday and thinks everyone forgot about it until the end when... SURPRISE, there is a party. Big shocker.
