This is one of the “U.S. Armed Forces” series and focuses on Navy SEALs. Each spread has a page of text accompanied by a large photo-illustration. The text is no more than 2-3 sentences per page, and it describes the jobs, weapons and organization of the SEALs. This format is ideal for emerging readers and special populations. The topic is popular, especially with boys. And the photographs are awesome. Back matter includes a “More Facts” page, glossary, publisher’s website and index. The title is a worthwhile addition to any children’s library.

My 7 year old son recently borrowed this book from his school library.

It gives a brief description on who the Navy SEALs are, their jobs, and their weapons and machinery.

My son needed very little, to no help with reading and understanding this book. Each page also contains colorful pictures. Non-fiction book for young readers.

I loved this book because it has short paragraphs in large print on each page. My primary students will be able to read this!
