Claw Haven #4

Snowed In with a Succubus

Rate this book
Jaz stops in the snowy town of Claw Haven with one thing on her getting a tattoo to cover up her cheating ex-boyfriend’s name on her arm.

Luckily, there’s a tattoo studio willing to fit her in right after closing time. And her tattoo artist is funny, kind, and shockingly fun to talk to—even if he is coming down with something.

Sam closes Inky Talons with one thing on his getting home and taking the potion that keeps his succubus hunger at bay.

But when Jaz storms in for a cover-up, he decides he can spare another hour so long as he can ignore how tempting she smells. He’s not a typical succubus, though. Sam’s never fed from a human before, and he’s not about to start now—even if her bright grin and gorgeous laugh make it dangerously easy to let his guard down.

But at the end of their session, they discover they’re snowed in.

It’s only supposed to be one night. But when the studio doors finally open, will they be able to walk away from each other?

[Snowed In With A Succubus is a cozy monster romance novella with medium spice. Every book set in the Claw Haven universe can be read as a standalone.

If you enjoy this novella, you can also go check out longer books set in the Claw Haven universe - the first full-length book, Accidentally Wedded To A Werewolf, is coming in late 2024.]

Pardon me for screaming, but THIS WAS SO CUTE!!!!! I loved seeing how Jaz was learning to love her loudness, and the whole tattoo made me so proud. I'm glad we never saw her shrink herself for anyone's comfort. The relationship moved fast, but it really worked out, and it didn't feel rushed or weird. When he told Jaz he liked her laugh, I wanted to cry. It was so sweet. Just that moment of her remembering always being told her laugh is too much, she's too much, and then he just loves her as she is! What a beautiful little moment. 10/10. I can't wait to read more.

This was just okay for me. I had a hard time believing they developed deeper feelings for one another outside of satisfying lustful urges. Plus Jaz talked waaay too much about her ex boyfriend for a woman who blazed like the sun for me. I also didn't fully understand Sam's aversion to his monster form in such an accepting monster town especially when he got so angry with his best friend and even Jaz at one point over it. I just felt like there was a lot of stuff to unpack here for a cute novella.

I had loads of fun with this! I'm in the mood for some monster romances for halloween and this was a super cute one. It is very high on the fluff and the whole "I hate being a monster thing" but it wasn't too on the nose and the romance was very sweet.

This was a short novella that introduces us to Claw Haven, a snowy town made just for monsters.

Sam didn't think being a succubus was 'all that', taking potions and avoiding relationships, and Jaz unexpectedly enters his life and in a short space of time changes his outlook on himself in a heartwarming way.

(Was he a succubus? Not really, but this is noted at the start so it wasn't confusing when you found out what he does!)

I just wish this was a little longer, I need to know what happens next!

Jaz and Sam are so cute together. Their quirky story makes for a delightfully short and cozy read. grab your favorite blanket, brew up a warm drink, and settle in for this sweet and spicy novella. the pacing is perfectly timed, with just the right amount of spice to keep things exciting. it's like watching a charming little story unfold in a snug warm hug.
the characters are nicely developed, and the descriptions are delightful. I recommend this novella if you are looking for a cozy escape... or a cozy stay-in!

So adorable! A quick, spicy 🌶️ and fun story that had me giggling and kicking my feet at how cute it was.
I loved the way it tackles such relatable topics, like the fear of accepting ourselves as we are and the parent trauma. And of course a strong and bold FMC will always win my heart, such as a sweet and respectful MMC.
It also came with perfect weather, as winter is approaching in Portugal. 🤣

Was a very fun read! I loved how they both were affected by each other and the forced proximity hahah.

I loved when a MC is a tattoo artist uughh soo cool!!
I love short cozy books that have me not wanting to put down the book until I get to the end.

They both were really cute and when they finally admitted to each other their feelings! The town the book is set in is cute in itself! I would love to visit it hahah😂😂

Highly recommend if you want a cute short monster romance!

I am always impressed when an author can write so much story into so few pages and have it not feel rushed.

This story rakes place over 3ish days, but there is so much emotion and healing that takes place.

I received an ARC from the Author which I am INCREDIBLY grateful for!

I wasn't sure what to expect with this book, I was pretty excited to see what it was like and I definitely was not disappointed.
I had a pretty decent smile on my face the whole time I read it.
The tension? Chef's Kiss
The spice? Chef's Kiss
The story? Chef's Kiss

I absolutely would love to read more from this Author in the future.

Sam, the male incubus lead (though the author has him labelled as succubus), has always lived off synthetic sources rather than live others, since his parents convinced him that his type of monster is inherently bad. Unfortunately, distraction means he forgot to eat and that’s catching up with him. As he’s heading home for sustenance, Jaz(mine), the female human lead, barrels into his tattoo shop, determined to get a cover up for the name tattoo of the ex-boyfriend she just found cheating and left. Taking pity on her, Sam agrees, only to find that, as they go to leave, the power cuts out and the automatic doors won’t open and his boss borrowed his key that afternoon. Determined not to take advantage, Sam is planning to weather the pain but Jaz invites him to feed from her.

She’s only passing through town. He’s determined to go back to synthetic food. It’s a fantastic night but that’s all it should be…right?

This novella is dual POV, well written (except for the incubus/succubus error), and an interesting fantasy romance which introduces the author’s world. I enjoyed Jazz’s vibrant personality and her willingness to remain herself in light of her ex’s push for her to change. I enjoyed her support of Sam as he was and her encouragement for him to be proud of himself and his attributes. I enjoyed Sam’s dawning self-awareness. I adored his consent focus and his determination to not take advantage of his attributes. I enjoyed the relationship development and the very steamy intimate scenes. I enjoyed the introduction to multiple other characters and I’m looking forward to more in this world.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

😁 Just loved this quick tale of two very deserving characters. I remembered when I got my first tattoo that the artist specified, never get ink relating to a partner! 🤣 Thankfully that never crossed my mind.
I loved Jaz and her fiesty, sunshine character! 🌅 Thus the tattoo was perfect for her in so many ways. Then we have the tattoo artist Sam, a succubus, who holds that side of him locked away with a supresent. He was such a lovely, caring guy and it took Jaz to bring his true self out. The supporting characters were fun as well and enjoyed all their banter in getting Sam to give in to his desires. Though felt feel the X got off lightly, but glad she decided on a future with Sam. 😍😍
There is heat 🌶🌶 and emotion, with humour. I look forward to reading more from this author. 🤩🤩

Thanks to the author for providing me this ARC for an honest review. This was a very warm, endearing read portraying succubi in a more casual, light hearted manner instead of stereotyping them as feral creatures. Something unconventional and out of the box and something I liked a lot! Some parts of the book were still unbelievable such as the female lead deciding to stay with the male lead in the end even after she planned to travel to Chicago all the way from Alaska, a life changing decision , in reality, that would not be taken easily. If you are interested in mythological creatures in fictional books, this is one of the recommended reads for you!! Highly recommended if you are going for a more cozy and unserious vibe!!

This was cute! (Also you can snag it by signing up first the author’s newsletter 👀)

Sam is the perfect awkward golden retriever book boyfriend (plus he’s great at his job - tattoo artist!).

Jaz just had a bad breakup and needs to get a tattoo of her ex’s name removed.

This book has it all
❄️ forced proximity (they get snowed in!)
🎆 sunshine x reserved
❄️ he has a cute doggo!
🎆 one night stand turned into more
❄️ golden retriever energy
🎆 “I see you” vibes

Also? This was the perfect novella length! 🥰

This novella is a gem! It is very well written, it made me feel like I was actually there in Claw Haven.
Loved the characters. Poor little Sam, I'd read a whole book about him! About his childhood, the relationship with his father, the adventures with his Shrimp Cousin, everything. It was also very refreshing to read of such a gentleman.
And Jaz, oh my sweet adhd sun. What a woman!
The right amount of cozy and spice, I truly applaud the author ❤️‍🔥

Cute for a quick read

Doesn’t have a lot of plot. And doesn’t spend a lot of time on the plot it does have. Despite all that it was very cute. Fluffy read and nice all through out. I did hate that he called her too much at one point but I get it. I woulda done the same if someone was being so pushy. Overall a lot of smut not a lot of plot. Good feels through out so yeah nice quick read. Took me at most 1 1/2 hours (probably less)

Monster romance can also be cute!

Omg, this was so sweet! Jaz and Sam's romance is so cute and wholesome that I fell in love with both of them.
The spice was terrific, and the depths of the themes amazing---and it is such a short read.
I devoured it in one sitting, could not put it down.

I'm looking forward to reading more stories set in Claw Haven!

This was a very cute story albeit a bit predictable at times. I understand that she wrote it with the intent on making it unique to the world building....succubus is gender specific. A male sex demon is an incubus. Unless you change little things throughout or put in a reason for a specific change, this is just change for change sake and that is lazy writing.
