I loved the MJ scene and the Spider suit mark 2. Glad he turned it down. However, while each chapter is great, there is a lot of telling. I want more action, and Peter’s spider sense needs to work better.

Another great issue but honestly at this point, aren't they all?

This was fun cause see MJ get more screentime and she's great in this as is Ben and Jonah. Then we get Peter and Harry teaming up and it's honestly wonderful cause you know the trainwreck that is coming but can't stop reading. I also really enjoyed their villain this issue. Overall very good.

The issue is a fun read, and really interesting in terms of character development. But if you're looking for a knockdown drag out fight, then this isn't the issue for you. Interesting new developments, a lot of stuff happening, great character moments and amazing art. This continues to be a special book.

⁷"You need to know something, Peter. If I'm put to the choice and one of them is about to kill you... I will never hesitate"

The second story arc of USM continues to surprise me with its maturity, depth and how deeply Hickman understands Spider-Man and use his characters and antagonists in a conpletely different way. Otto's failed attempt to get Pete to use the Spider-Armor, Harry's grit and desire for vengeance against the perpetrators of his father Norman and Aunt May's deaths, and Peter's staunch stance on trying to keep a sense of honour in a world where his enemies have no desire to show him any.

Harry almost kills The Black Cat to save Peter and doesnt hesitate because he would've killed Peter without hesitation, breeding Osborn's more open moral compass, and JJJ + Uncle Ben's plans for The Paper continue to develop as a really interesting side narrative also.

Im continually loving this series, and Im so grateful that we have this amidst the politiking and writer sabotaging thats happening over at Amazing Spider-Man!

This series makes me smile. I could wax poetically about Hickman’s writing or Checcetto’s art, & I’ll get to those in a bit, but at the end of the day I could read this series in any mindset & I’d instantly have a smile in my face. This book is exactly why I read comics. Is there a better feeling than that?

Between Ben/JJJ/MJ figuring out their business model or Peter & Harry discussing their ideas on crime fighting, Hickman is creating human stories. Strip away all of the superhero aspect of it all & this would still be captivating dialogue. Hickman is also laying the groundwork for these character dynamic to take multiple paths. Will JJJ remain a more joyful version of himself or will the Spider-Man stories overshadowing his investigative journalism be what pushes him to come full circle & hate Spider-Mqn? Can Harry continue staying a benevolent Goblin or are starting to see the cracks form on his path to villainy? Hickman has done such a great job that any direction he chooses will feel earned.

Checcetto on this book may be the best writer/artist pairing Marvel currently has — & they have some strong teams! Every panel looks cinematic. The character designs, Spider-Man’s poses, the action sequences. His use of shadowing during the scene w/ Otto gave me goosebumps. Matt Wilson’s colors ooze with drama & lettering by Cory Petit & Joe Caramagna provides depth. The “sploooosh” onomatopoeia after a water tower collapses was splendid.

Ultimate Spider-Man’s debut issue instantly proved this new Ultimate Universe had leg. It gave the other series a platform to explore familiar concept in new ways that didn’t feel like cash-grab gimmicks. Nearly 10 months later it remains the Universe’s crown jewel & continues to impress & build on its own success w/ each new issue.

Ultimate Spider-Man #9 keeps building on Hickman and Checchetto’s grounded, reimagined universe. Peter gets another suit upgrade, Harry and Peter clash with a sinister new threat, and we get sharp character moments—especially a fun exchange where J. Jonah Jameson and Ben Parker get marketing lessons on The Paper from MJ.
There’s also an intriguing update to Doc Ock’s role. The pacing is still on the slow side, and Peter’s casual attitude toward danger feels a bit off. But the world feels lived-in and fresh, with clever twists on the familiar. A solid entry that rewards longtime fans while charting bold new territory.

Catching up (at least with what is on the Marvel Unlimited app, at this time).

As someone who is deep in the Spider-Man fandom, algorithm, web, as you may say, I have found this book to be a little overhyped up to this point.

It’s still very good though. Hickman’s always terrific writing, Checcettos’s always terrific art elevate what imo is a just good remix, into something special.

I especially love the stuff with Uncle Ben and JJJ.

I’m feeling 4 stars on the series so far (which is very good) but the last few issues, jigsaw pieces are falling into place.

The series (no surprise here) continues to be great! The art is fantastic, the pacing is well done, and the characterization is top-notch. I really like how the friendship (and clear differences) between Harry and Peter took shape here, and how Peter's new suit sets up some possible conflicts for the future.

4 estrellas.

Damn damn !!

Iron Spider suit reveal was amazing and I love how it looks. Ben and Jameson got their shit going on and the duo of Spidey and Goblin continues to flow well while having moments of tension that makes it feel like something will eventually combust between them. I love the friendship between the two and how much depth Harry has in this series. This has simply been peak…

Misleading cover, still good.

The issue was a great issue, but the cover is definitely misleading as the Sinister Six never make an appearance. They aren’t even mentioned. That said though, still a fun story that was told in this issue

Far better than many issues of the past - which makes me quite excited, seeing how three more issues remain to conclude this fascinating arc.
