Doreen Virtue frequently hears this question at her workshops, and usually points them to her book Healing with the Angels . Yet, even that book is a bit advanced for newcomers. One morning she clearly saw and heard the title Angels 101 , and Doreen knew that the angels wanted her to write a very basic and elementary book. Angels 101 is a nondenominational overview of who the angels are; their role in various spiritual texts and religions; the ways that angels help us and how to call upon them; information on guardian angels, archangels, and departed loved ones; and frequently asked questions about the angels. No matter where you are on a spiritual or religious path, this book is sure to deepen your understanding and love of the angels—and it makes the perfect gift for someone new to these concepts!
I liked Angels 101. I think Virtue's write was precise and simple, very easy to understand as is her message. Doreen tells us that angels are everywhere and that they are eager to help, we just need to connect with them in some way. Throughout her book she explores the main realms of the angels and how they can help us. She gives tips and advisements. A very cute and practical book for those who believe in angels.
A short but concise introductory book to the realm of angels and archangerls. Doreen conveys her beliefs without making them the final true creed, but rather inspires by believing immensely in her cause, inviting people to take a leap of faith and give the angels a chance to manifest in our lives. I will definitely be reading more from this author.
This is one of the best of Doreen’s books I have read. She presumably will not be writing any further books on angels since she has become a fundamentalist Christian and has changed her priorities. (I’m trying to be nice/diplomatic about this.) Her latest book is entitled “The Joy of Jesus”.
In this book we are given a basic introduction to the angels and are told how to ask them for help. We can either say, think, write, visualize or affirm our request. This is in contrast to others who say we need to state our request out loud, so the angels realize we’re not just thinking about asking for help, but really mean it.
Doreen has never seen anyone without at least two guardian angels by their side (she can see the angels).
Archangels are “very large, loud, and powerful”.
Ariel helps with our physical needs such as money, shelter and supplies. Azrael heals the grief-stricken and helps bring departed souls to Heaven.
Chamuel helps find lost objects and eases anxiety. I often get his help in finding things – sometimes he helps immediately, sometimes it takes a few hours. Gabriel dictated the Koran to Mohammed and helps writers, teachers and parents.
Haniel heals women during their monthly cycles and helps with clairvoyance. Jeremiel deals with emotions and helps us forgive.
Jophiel heals negative and chaotic situations. Metatron used to be the propjet Enoch and heals learning disorders and childhood issues.
Michael protects us and clear away negativity. He is the patron saint of police officers. Raguel brings harmony to relationships,
Raphael heals ailments and guides healers. Raziel heals spiritual and psychic blocks and helps interpret dreams.
Sandalphon was the prophet Elijah and helps people to heal from aggressive tendencies and also helps musicians. Uriel is an angel of wisdom and philosophy.
Zadkiel heals memory problems and assists with other mental functions. (I think I’ll be asking him for help one of these days.)
Archangels are tall and large, the cherubs look like babies with wings, while guardian angels are about three to four feet tall.
Divine guidance is “repetitive, loving, uplifting, and encouraging, and always asks us to improve a situation”.
When we see white feathers lying around, these are signs that angels are present.
Many people see coloured “angel lights”. For example, bright emerald lights indicate that Raphael is present, while pale green lights are a sign that Chamuel is here.
We’re provided with many wonderful and inspiring stories of angelic help; many report having their life saved by angels in car accidents, for instance.
You can also write letters to your angels requesting help. In Catherine Ponder’s books she also advises us to do this and relates many cases of people being helped by this means. We can also write to other people’s guardian angels.
The angels can help us with relationships, career and life purpose.
Nothing is impossible for God and the angels.
There is a final chapter giving answers to frequently asked questions.
I found this to be an inspiring book and would recommend that you read it, if you’re at all interested in the subject.
Angels 101 is just that - a simple overview of angelic beings and how to connect with them. Stories of angelic encounters are shared as well. A good, simple introduction to the subject. I appreciated the section on angel lights. It's something I experience and she suggests certain angels may be associated with particular colors. An easy, uplifting read.
I read "The Lightworkers Way" by this author many years ago and really enjoyed it. She has since had a conversion experience and has been led to believe that all of her spiritual experiences (even a vision of Jesus) were demonic. It seems that she is under the influence of a religious spirit and a denomination or pastor that denies the ongoing dispensation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (prophecy, discernment of spirits, word of knowledge, etc). There are many Christian denominations that acknowledge spiritual gifts, spiritual beings and experiences, and acknowledge angels as God's messengers. In a spirit-filled church someone like Doreen Virtue would be seen as anointed by God - a Seer or Prophet. Its really unfortunate that a spiritually dry pastor somewhere has shamed her and led her to believe that her gifts and all her spiritual experiences and visions are from the devil and not from God.
For a positive Christian perspective on spiritual gifts, visions, angels, etc please see books like "The Seer," "The Prophet," and others by James Goll, "Seeing In the Spirit Made Simple" by Praying Medic, and "The Seer's Path" by Ana Werner.
I read this book in 2-3 days as it was very easy to read and very positive. I like Doreen's writing style, her loving and encouraging voice will guide to discover how angels can be of help to people. Very easy to read and the examples are often very cute. The next book to read if you liked this one would be Archangels 101.
Though it's quite short I found this book so insightful and informative. I found the stories inside very inspiring and made me feel safe in the knowledge that angels are looking out for us. I recommend this book to anyone who's curious about Angels.
There were some interesting parts to the book but God was used a little too frequently and some aspects to the Archangels was a little limiting, especially that they had to have specific colours and that ancestors couldn't be Guardian Angels and possibly of no real help at all.
A clairvoyant from an early age from Christian Science background, Doreen Virtue, once a psychotherapist says more than 30% of the adult population has seen angels and more than 70% believe in them. She has enough titles on Amazon to choke a horse. This example does not have one bad review on Amazon… until this one. Virtue also conducts seminars and can be heard on Hay House radio.
According to the author, angels look after us, especially our one or more guardian angels, and all angels are interdenominational. Angels have many powers such as healing, but only if you want them to. Not content merely to heal people, angels may also be implored to heal your pets. They even watch you when you you know what! The descriptions and nomenclature of angels is multitudinous and Virtue explains it all in alphabetical order… without footnotes. Even though angels empower relationships (the soul mate), the author has been divorced at least four times. The fourth husband Steven Farmer claims to be a shamanic practitioner, psychotherapist and professional healer. He also is a prolific author of Hay House titles as listed on Amazon. You name it. Angels can help you improve the situation. They also leave many signs including numbers, which might explain the 666 imbedded in my library card. And, feathers… They leave feathers! And, I always thought feathers meant some poor bird had met up with a predator. So, why do bad things happen to a majority of living things? Beats me… Included are several undocumented anecdotes of angels protecting many mortals who only have a first name. Angels even improve the author’s travels ensuring she has a nice flight attendant, avoids lines at the check in, receives room upgrades, and that her luggage arrives promptly. Angels help believers find lost things, get a good job, nice home, and swell friends. I am not making that up! Total bullshit!
Moral of the story: If you say something a few times, many people will believe you and even send you money. Keywords: Faith healing, angels, numerology.
This is an inspirational self-help book that is intended to give pointers to people who are looking for ways to improve themselves. The author shares her perspectives on her 15 favorite archangels. I was not aware that there are fifteen archangels. My studies on angelology identifies on seven, but I guess opinions vary.
What I found most enjoyable about this book were the stories that Doreen Virtue included by others who have had experiences with direct contacts with angels, events that include miraculous healings, protection from harm (such as car accidents) and sometimes useful advice. Many of us have a fondness for angels, a hopeful belief in their existance, and of course, they are mentioned in the Christian bible and in the Koran, among other religious books. This book is an encouraging piece that shares that perspective.
I enjoyed the book. It was extremely informational, interesting and very easy to understand. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn or have a better understanding on angels. The book is a very easy read but educational. Who better to learn the material than Doreen Virtue the author of the book.
Great book, it's just such a shame Doreen had to do a complete 180 on her spiritual beliefs. I just hope either Radleigh Valentine or Kyle Gray come out with a replacement, as I won't recommend this book anymore. Took a star off to reflect this.
A great concise introduction to working with angels. Still saddens me what happened to Doreen Virtue but the information she channeled in the past still rings ever true!
Listened to this twice on audio because I enjoyed it and wanted to remember more. I felt it was a great introduction for beginners (as it was intended).
Interesting not only for the information on finding your own personal peace and help, but also just to learn more about angels in specifics and the personal stories provided. I also like that the writing is not simply catering to/providing for Christians.
I use this book daily because I see repeated three-sequence numbers every day. Lately, 111, 222, 454, 555, 644, 707, 818, 909, 959 and of course still 444. My job is changing due to the local hospital buying our clinic. I'm helping take care of my mother-in-law who is affected by Alzheimer's. My daughter and her fiancé just moved from the east coast to the west coast so that he can work at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory for N.A.S.A. Every time I see 111, I picture my book title on a movie marquee.
An amazing book about connecting with the angels that surround us, protecting and embracing the world with love and care. At all points of time, there are atleast two guardian angels protecting you, and archangels who are always available at your beck and call to heal the world of pain and suffering. So, reach out to them, and believe in them. Work together with them, and you will win the world. God bless Doreen. This book was enlightening.
The content, itself, was interesting but it tended to meander to stories of the content matter and not specific ways to contact angels, prayers, meditation. It's supposed to be Angels 101, and the only information I got from this book was a list of angels that I could have researched on Google or Wikipedia.
A nice book that introduces Angel Therapy via Doreen Virtue style. A definition of the Angelic Realm, how to connect, which angel to connect to, signs from the Angels, to reaching from help and healing - each chapter is broken down in a color scheme. A nice book, easy read, filled with information that can be found in deeper depth in another one of her books.
