BROUGHT TOGETHER BY CHANCE
For years, Addison Moore worked herself ragged to achieve her goals. Close to earning her degree, the contents of a shocking letter rip her world to shreds. In an attempt to forget, she wanders into a bar, unknowingly changing her life forever. Suddenly she’s surrounded by the supernatural she thought only myth and stalked by an evil priestess intent on her death. Her only chance is with an enigmatic man who makes her want to forget everything just to be in his arms.
BOUND TOGETHER BY CIRCUMSTANCE
Myles LaRue was content owning a bar and hunting evil in the French Quarter. He wasn’t looking for love, especially after the tragedy his family already experienced. But when the exquisite Addison Moore walks into his life, he can’t help but be charmed. Despite the dangers surrounding them, Myles comes to one conclusion - against the odds they found each other, and now that they have, he will do whatever it takes to keep her safe.

What the hell, man? Why was this novel the size of a novella? Huh? Huh?
You finally find something even remotely interesting and it finishes before it even starts. What gives! I didn't even get all emotionally involved enough to continue the series. >__<
I'm skipping out to book 3 to read Solomon and Minka's book :p
I see sizzle, I see spark I hear Umaiya's next wolf bark! (That was so lame!! Lol)
A bit darker, more dangerous, and action packed than the Chiassons, I'm loving the characters and can't wait to see what more happens with this world and those that live within it...
3.75 stars-MOON KISSED is the first novella in Donna Grant’s contemporary, adult LARUE paranormal, romance series of novellas, a spin-off from the author’s Chiasson series-the LaRues are cousins to the Chiassons, and like the original series, the LaRues are also a family of supernatural hunters.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Addison and Myles) MOON KISSED introduces the LaRue brothers, werewolves who live, and own a bar, Gator Bait, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Addison Moore, a college student desperate for money takes a job working as a waitress at the Gator Bait Bar when a ‘fortune teller’ warns our heroine that her life is in danger. A second visit from a Voodoo priestess confirms the rumors that Addison is a target of the supernatural beasts. When a vampire sets his sights on Addison Moore, Myles in wolf form, saves the woman he will claim as his mate.
MOON KISSED focuses on family, vengeance, power and control. Another quick read wherein a werewolf shifter believing himself unworthy of love, finds his happily ever after when a stranger walks into his bar.
NUMBER OF HEARTS: 4 1/2 REVIEW: Addison Moore is at the end of her rope. A random chance of walking into Gator Bait is about to change her whole world. If it is for the good or the bad that is yet to be determined.
Myles LaRue has had no interest in getting involved with anyone for any reason. But the minute that Addison walked through the doors of Gator Bait, Myles was completely and total lost.
Great start to the LaRue series. We meet the LaRue boys in book 3 ‘Wild Need’ of the Chiasson series. We learned just a little about the LaRue’s in Wild Need. But in Moon Kissed we learn a lot more about the LaRue family and the curse that follows them.
I really enjoyed Myles and Addison’s story. I am very much looking forward to the next book in the LaRue family. There is just something about these Were’s that makes them so scary loveable.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Donna Grant in exchange for an honest review. This review is my own opinion and not a paid review.
Moon Kissed is the first book in the LaRue Series by Donna Grant but it is obviously a follow series to the Chiasson Series which I have not read so there were some storylines that I didn't understand. They referenced things from the previous series without really explaining what had happened.
However, it is an enjoyable shifter book. This book centers around Addison who is a college student having trouble paying for school so she ends up working at the Gator Bait Bar and Grill. She grew up in New Orleans but doesn't realize that the supernatural community really exists. She is attracted to Myles LaRue who along with his brothers owns the bar and grill.
the LaRue family was cursed by a Voodoo Priestess to be werewolves and they hunt other supernaturals. (There is a backstory with a voodoo priestess from the previous series that I didn't have and would have made this book a lot more enjoyable).
There was plenty of action and fun characters. I will have to go back and read the Chiasson series before I read anything else in this series. Only 3 stars due to the gaps (not really a stand alone or 1st book in a series.)
If you love paranormal your gonna love this book! Werewolves, witches, vampires, demons and voodoo, you name it, it lives in New Orleans. 4 hunky brothers that just so happen to turn into werewolves. Addison is one lucky lady, well regarding the sexy wolf anyway. Book kept my interest until the end. Definitely recommend to shifter lovers!
Okay, not to be weird here, but the acknowledgements made me squeal here! Anywho… Moon Kissed… aahhh yes… Moon Kissed is Book 1 in Donna’s LaRue series. I have loved Miss Grant since I picked up her Druid’s Glen Series…. Even though her norm for me is Scottish numminess… I loved this one soooo much too! This is an awestriking and sexy series starter set in deep southern United States! Donna got the details here so spot on for me that I could nearly feel the humidity! I’ve lived in Georgia, Florida, North and South Carolinas and visited Alabama a few times, so I really enjoyed getting to read the details as accurately as she portrayed them. Donna doesn’t disappoint with her brothers in this steamy series either. The paranormal edge? Oh, they just so happen to be werewolves.. 😉 I didn’t like the size of the book, mainly because it didn’t give us time to get deep into the story before it was coming to an end. I did appreciate that the relationship didn’t feel rushed or forced, but rather took it’s time a bit with as much time as we had with the novella before it’s ending. If you like paranormal shifter books, you’ll enjoy this book! I give this book 4 out of 5 shields.
This is the first book of this series. I adore this author & her work. She can weave a story so rich in character & depth that you feel like you’re actually in the story. This is the story of Miles & Addison (AKA Addy). He’s a werewolf & owns a bar called Gator Bait in NOLA quarter with his brothers. His family was cursed to be werewolves they could only change during a full moon. Luckily, they work with other supernatural beings in the quarter & entreated some witches to cast a spell so they can change into a werewolf whenever they want. Their primary purpose is to guard the quarter & police the supernatural community. They’re in a war with Delphine, a witch with a power hungry demeanor & very few scruples. Addison is enrolled in Tulane University & is in need of a job. She finds one in the Gator Bait as a waitress to supplement her needs. She’s drawn into the war in the supernatural community, as she has untapped & unknown power that Delphine desperately wants. Miles is going to protect her, no matter the cost. She is his mate… Que "Bark At The Moon" by Ozzy Osbourne.
Because Myles family has been cursed by a voodoo priestess, he has no plans on finding a wife or bringing anyone into his life. But in walks Addison after having a bad day, she gets a job in a bar that she happened to walk into for lunch. They are attracted to one another but Myles is trying to keep her at arms length to keep her safe.
When the voodoo priestess gets wind that Addison is there, that puts her in danger and Myles has to ask for help from people he's not sure he can trust.
I loved the world that Donna Grant created and I will probably read more of this series and the previous series because of this book. I've read Donna Grant before and I love her books. I thought that Myles and Addison were so sweet together once they decided to give into their feelings. This was a short novella but it just wet my appetite for these characters. There were werewolves, witches and other paranormals in this book which I really liked.
Super thrilling read. New Orleans have very large populations of Super Naturals. It is the responsiblity of the Larue Brothers, as werewolves, to keep the different factions in line. The Larue brothers are very interesting. It gets more interesting for them when Addison walks into their bar.
Addison's life has become very challenging. To continue her education she needs money. She has no problem woring at their bar. Maybe that will change when she discovers what the are.
Addison is thrown into their world. A preastess wants to take her life in order to become more powerful. Others want her killed so it can happen. You never who is going to be around the corner. You never know what will happen on the next page, in the next chapter making for a thrilling, exciting read. .
"Moon Kissed" by Donna Grant. Book 1 in the LaRue series.
I really liked this book about Myles and Addison. This book is highly connected to Ms. Grant's Chiasson series. The LaRues are the Chiassons's cousins and both show up in each others' series. You can read this book as a stand alone but I suggest you read the first three books of the Chiasson series so you are familiar with all the characters and cross-series story lines.
Myles is a werewolf. And he's the accountant for the bar him and his brothers own called Gator Bait. Addison is a human. She takes a job as a waitress at the bar Gator Bait to help save money for another semester of school. When she meets Myles, there's an instant attraction between them. Addison is not the kind of girl to make the first move but Myles isn't making a move either. When Addison is attacked by a vampire, Myles is there to save her...in his wolf form. She doesn't know anything about the paranormal world. So when Myles learns that Addison is being targeted by the evil Voodoo priestess Delphine, he just has to protect her.
I don't want to say too much more about the story line. I don't want to spoil it for you. The story is a novella and moves along quickly and flows very well. The characters are interesting and intriguing. The romance between Myles and Addison was very well done. They have excellent chemistry together.
Overall, this was a very good novella. I really liked it.
Their family line was cursed by a voodoo priestess generations ago. Now, they work to keep the peace between all the supernatural beings in New Orleans.
Miles has no intention of bringing a wife into their world. It's bad enough being in the radar of the current voodoo priestess in New Orleans. That is until he saw her.
Addison was having a very bad day. Then she walked into a bar for lunch and came out with a job. It didn't hurt to have his blue eyes trained on her either.
Fate isn't done with Addison. She's been targeted by the voodoo priestess. Miles, sworn to protect her, is on the hunt to find Addison after she's been kidnapped for a voodoo ritual.
Moon Kissed is a quick novella that'll leave you howling for more.
This is the second novella that I have read by Donna Grant and this series is an offshoot of that one. The LaRue's are cousins of the Chiasson's and they too hunt the things that go bump in the night.
I enjoyed this novella more than I did Wild Fever. It had a bit more structure and the characters were more well rounded. It was 50 percent longer and I think that helped. I really liked Miles and Addison$ they were well flushed out characters that had vibrant personalities. I'm also a sucker for a story set in New Orleans so that helped too.
This series is intertwined with the Chaisson series. So I would advise that you read that one first. The book is short but packs a punch. This story involves the La Rue's keeping the five factions of New Orleans at peace. The problem comes in the form of Delphine, a Voodoo Priestess. Myles is one of the La Rue brothers. They are cursed with shapeshifting into wolves. He meets Addison at their place of business and is instantly attracted to her. The evil Delphine has to then insert herself into Addisons life.
Addison had one more year before she had het degree. She gets a letter and everything changes. She walks into a bar, asks for a job, and gets it. Myles is a werewolf and he and his brothers own a bar in the Quarter. They were cursed by a voodoo priestess to be werewolves. The LaRue brothers help protect the Quarter from other bad paranormals. Myles and Addison fall for each fast. A voodoo priestess is after Addison and Myles will do anything to protect her.
Great story. Not very long. Vampires, werewolves and witches oh my. A little sex. Action.
When I started this book I felt like I'd kinda jumped the cue, there seemed to be a back story to the La Rue brothers I was missing. However I soldiered on and got the jist of their history once I got into the story.
I liked that this was a quick satisfying read with mild drama and suspense, a fairly good romance story between Myles and Addison, and the story line was fairly good.
The first book in Donna Grant's LaRue series was good. I enjoyed the two main characters. Even though it is a novella, Donna wrote it in a way that made the relationship develop slowly and steadily. The conflict was strong with an already set up villain from the Chiasson series. I enjoyed the passion, the action, the characters, and the overall story. I look forward to more of the LaRue brothers.
The LaRue siblings are the cousins of the Chiassons. While the series are intertwined it is not necessary to read all of the Chiasson books before this one. I love the fact that the LaRues are hunters as well as werewolves. It added a different twist to the story. Myles and Addison were just perfect for each other and even for a shorter book very developed characters.
Loved the story, loved the characters, loved the setting. What I didn’t love was the author’s use of bad grammar. I don’t notice people complaining, but the author should know that she probably loses readers because of it. Please let me and other readers give you the five star ratings your story deserves if your writing is edited!
I liked the story and that there is an intriguing plot going on that is clearly going to carry on through the series. I think my only issue is the dialogue at times seems a bit odd between the characters. Like forced words if that makes a bit of sense.
I like this novella. I do feel I am missing somethings by not reading the Chiasson books first but not so much that I feel left out. I think more for background then missing the plot. It was a good start to this series and I look forward to more books.
Addison Moore was having a bad day, deciding to treat herself to some food she goes to a bar and grill called Gator Bait. While waiting for her food she meets Myles LaRue one of the owners. They both have an instant attraction to each other, but Addison has no idea what he is or what she's in for.
This short supernatural romance is action packed. Despite being short it's well rounded.
Myles being a werewolf and Addison being a human doesn't make any difference when it comes to love. They are a lovely couple. Accepting each other as they are. A good read.
I loved the development of these characters. Not only the main characters but the supporting ones as well. The story develops quickly. Longing and danger wrapped up with intrigue. Fast paced but well worth it.
The LaRue boys own the Gater Bite a bar in New Orleans. Addison is a college student looking for a job. The guys are wolves and help keep New Orleans free from bad supernaturals.
