Thank you to my loving husband, for not throwing away my Nook, and planting the seed of writing into my mind. I am forever grateful. Xo
Readers, words cannot thank you enough for supporting me along this incredible journey. I hope you enjoy my novels as much as I do writing them. I thank each and every one of you.
I actually started reading book 5 A Beautiful Thought first and something was mentioned in it that had me curious so I stopped reading and immediately picked up this one.
This was a very SAFE sweet, easy and low angst...and I mean very low angst...read about Abbey and Jason. Jason has moved to town to partner with Abbey's brother in his restoration business. Abbey believes Jason will be her boss so is hesitant to pursue any feelings. It is told entirely from Abbey's POV. I don't usually like that but Jason's actions and words made me feel he was all in 100%. Initially, he did all the chasing. He was determined to have her. I would still call this insta-love. The ILY's come later but it's evident it's there pretty early on.
I grew bored a few times because it was very mundane and just about them and their relationship. I don't have to have super, OTT drama, but I do need a little bit more than just day-to-day life. I've got enough of that in my own real life. There is only one "conflict" between Abbey and Jason and it's quickly resolved. It was not anything unrealistic or unnecessary. It was totally believable and I could see both sides.
Pearl was mentioned in Book 5. She is the reason I picked up this book. I love kids in romance and wanted to see what her story is. She is Abbey's 7 year old neighbor that has been dealt a bad hand most of her young life. Abbey befriends her. She is so sweet and I enjoyed the moments with her most of all. I have to say though, I grew very aggravated with Abbey and how she handled Pearl. It was very evident Pearl was neglected, if not physically, then definitely emotionally. I think a normal person would have stepped in sooner and intervened. So, I was a little upset and disappointed in Abbey. She befriends Pearl, but is hesitant to do anything about her situation because, being selfish, she was afraid she wouldn't get to see Pearl anymore. I think a child's well-being is more important than your own desires. Don't get me wrong, she was very good to Pearl and loved her. She took very good care of her. I just think she was a little selfish in her reasoning for not helping Pearl sooner. And, it took an event to push her into making a move. I absolutely loved Jason with Pearl. You could tell he was falling in love with her as much as he was Abbey. He was so sweet to her.
So, with all of that you would think I would rate this higher. It was totally safe and nothing negative within the relationship at all. My biggest problem, was I just grew bored. I started to skim a bit of the more everyday things. Which, I might add, were frequent. I did not need a step-by-step play of Abbey getting dressed and putting on makeup. Things like that were almost like a filler. The other thing that bothered me was the product placement, if you call it that. I did not need to know Abbey put on her Banana Republic dress or Jason bought her a Harley-Davidson t-shirt. Or he put his "Harley-Davidson" leather jacket on her. This is just a pet peeve of mine when brands are mentioned. I don't mind a little but not to the point where it's distracting and I found that here. It stuck out to me. But, like I said, that is just me and probably won't bother most people.
I would recommend this to anyone who just wants an easy and sweet romance.
Beautiful Ties is the fourth book in the ‘Beautiful’ series by Alicia Rae and is Abby Kyle’s sister and Jason Johnson Lily’s cousin’s story. I have to admit I had been meaning to read this one for a while and after receiving an Arc of the fifth book in the series A Beautiful Thought. I knew I had to read this one first as I can’t read books out of order even if they can be read as standalone.
“Love happens when you least expected”
Abby work alongside her brother, she is hard working, smart, sexy and fun. She's looking for love as she is ready to settle down, and when she meets Johnson the attraction is instant, but Jason has just started work with her brother, which means that their relationship should be kept profession, however she soon discovers this is easier said that done.
Jason is tall, sexy, smart and very charming. He likes Abby; as soon as he saw her, she instantly captivated him. He wants her, and he is determined to show her with his sweet charm that you can mix business with pleasure.
I really enjoyed the storyline, told from Abby’s Pov. I was a sweet sexy romantic read. I liked Jason and Abby they worked well together. It was funny and sweet to see how Jason went about proving to Abby that they would be good together, how he starts to break down her guard. That man was determined I can tell you, I like the way their relationship developed, it was fast-moving, but it works for them you couldn’t deny their attraction and chemistry that they had.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one. Like the rest of the previous books Alicia Rae hooked from the start, it’s a well written, well-paced sweet sexy story perfect read for a Sunday morning. I liked the secondary story about regarding Abby’s relationship with Pearl it was touching to read, and Pearl was such a cute character. Love how the previous main charters are woven into the story, always nice to know what is happening in their lives.
If you love romance stories that will l pull at your heart about family and friendships, with likeable characters that are low on the drama and angst, but has plenty of the sexy steamy then this one is for you.
Now that I have finished this one I’m excited to move straight onto A Beautiful Thought, which will be Gail Bennett Abby’s best friend and Lily’s cousin Damon Johnson’ s story.

Let me just start off by saying that I absolutely love the Beautiful series by Alicia Rae. I first fell in love with Lily and Kyle, and as they got closer and we were introduced to their families I began to fall in love with those characters as well. I have been waiting to get Abbey and Jason's story, and this one was definitely worth the wait. These books are written so well and are so heartfelt and beautiful. I honestly cannot recommend these enough. If you are looking for must read romance stories that will draw you in instantly and make you fall in love right along with the characters then these are definitely the books for you.
Abbey is a hardworking and successful businesswoman who works alongside her brother Kyle. She has watched him fall in love with Lily and also seen her brother Ryan fall in love as well. She wants the same thing for herself. When she meets Lily's cousin and Kyle's new business partner Jason, sparks instantly fly between them. Abbey is determined to keep things professional though since they work together. Despite being drawn to each other, Abbey does her best to turn him down, but Jason isn't taking no for an answer. Jason begins to win her over though, and soon she realizes that he has a place in her heart. But Abbey tries to balance work and her new relationship with Jason, she also strikes up a friendship with her seven year old neighbor who always seems sad and lonely. As Abbey begins to grow closer to Pearl, she realizes that something is not right with her home life and sets out to make things better for her. But can she find a way to have a relationship with Jason and Pearl, or will she have to sacrifice one in order to keep the other?
I really liked Jason before reading this book, but after this one I loved him. He was so sweet and kind and really thoughtful. He took care of Abbey and respected her as well as her ambition to be successful in her career. He was really great with Pearl though also, and I loved seeing that side of him as well. He was able to be serious and protective, but also playful and loving. Abbey was hardworking and devoted to doing her job well, but she was also so kind and open when it came to caring for others. She was determined to help Pearl because she wanted to and liked her not because she felt like she needed to or out of pity. I thought that her and Jason worked well together and were a great pair. But they also had a ton of chemistry and a really strong emotional connection as well. They were really hot together and had plenty of steam, but they were also able to give Pearl a great place to feel comfortable and loved.
I really loved everything about this book, and Alicia Rae impresses me so much with each new book of hers that I read. I love her writing style, and I always feel so invested in her characters and their HEAs. The characters are always unique and different, and full of depth. I thought that Jason and Abbey's relationship was so real and believable, and their story could not have been written better in my opinion. I felt like everything was so true to their characters, and I really loved how everything played out for them. I honestly can't wait to see what Alicia Rae has in store for Jason's brother Damon and Abbey's best friend Gail next. These books are must reads, and I think they offer something for every romance fan out there. The characters are likable and easy to relate to and will have you rooting for them the entire way through.
Just as I enjoyed the first three books in the series, I knew I would love this one as well. We have met the two characters in the previous books already. Abbey is Kyle’s sister, and Jason is Lily’s cousin. Meeting at the wedding, sparks had already flown between them. The chemistry and the sexual tension was off the charts – problem is that they were about to work together, and he will be her boss. So she needs to put a stop to whatever it is that she’s feeling and put on a professional front.
But Jason wants her, and is determined to have her. She may not mix business with pleasure – but he knows persuasion. With his good looks and his charms, and a whole lot of willpower, he knew he will have her. Perhaps, it will take a Harley Ride or eating the unedible food she cooks for him to get into her heart. Yay. But this sweet, sweet guy just knows how to crumble the walls that surrounds her heart. He knows the meaning of big gestures, and it really helps that he knows how to kiss.
Then there’s Pearl, the seven-year old kid who walked her way right into not just Abbey’s heart but to Jason as well. My heart goes out to this girl, and she had caught my attention. She needs all the love that she can get, and I’m so happy the couple is willing to share their time and attention with her. I wonder all the while what was happening in her life, why her mother or guardian is leaving her in the care of the neighbor most of the time. Hers was a sad tale, and you will have this big urge to go inside the book and give this girl a big hug.
As for Abbey and Jason – it was just amazing to watch them spend time together, and eventually fall for each other. As the story goes, I wonder what would come across these two since they seem to have a perfect relationship. They were so happy with each other when Abbey could no longer deny the attraction that was budding between them. They spend so much time together, and eventually gave a label to their relationship. Jason even spent time with Pearl. I had the feeling that the problem would somewhere rise from there – their relationship was just new, and fresh, can it withstand her need to take care of this girl, or will their new relationship needed to be sacrificed.
I enjoyed reading the fourth installment of the series, and I must say I can’t wait to read Damon’s story and for him to find his HEA as well. Alicia Rae once again wrote a sweet, sexy novel that had me hooked. I love how their love story progressed, it was an easy read but can still touch your hearts, you will fall in love with every character is this book and pin for each one of them.

I have been a dedicated fan of this series since the first book was released. As much as I completely adore the first three books, I believe that this is the best book of them all. This book was an emotional ride and I loved every minute of it!
The first three books in the series are about Kyle and Lily's relationship. Beautiful Ties follows the story of Abbey, Kyle's sister and Jason, Lily's cousin. They meet for the first time at Kyle and Lily's wedding and from there they both set off sparks. The chain of events that follow on from that night are exciting, exhilarating and amazing to watch unfold. They're is a bit of hesitancy from Abbey at first but Jason slowly starts to break down her walls. The progression of their relationship is a bit fast but it makes sense for them as a couple as they are so intensely attracted to each other.
There is another little person that captures your heart in this book and she also steals the hearts of Abbey and Jason. Pearl is Abbey's neighbour and she has had a hard time in her life. Abbey does everything she possibly can to make Pearl feel happy and loved, as her foster aunt doesn't provide her with the love she deserves. Pearl often finds her way to Abbey's house because she is usually left alone to take care of herself while her aunt is at work. There is no possible way that you couldn't instantly fall in love with Pearl. She is definitely the highlight to the entire story!
I am so emotionally attached to this story; I laughed, cried and smiled from cover to cover. This series just keeps getting better and better, and I can definitely see the improvement in Alicia's writing from Beautiful Chances to Beautiful Ties. It excites me to follow this story with Alicia and the characters she has created. There will be a fifth book released in June 2014 and I can't wait to read Gail and Damon's story.
"Whatever this is between us.. I don't ever want it to end."
Abbey is an independent, beautiful, smart woman who works for her brother Kyle. Kyle and Lily’s story is the Beautiful series books 1-3. Lily and Kyle’s big day has finally arrived. Abbey is one of the bridesmaids at the wedding and is paired up with Jason. Jason is Lily’s cousin from Colorado. He is tall, sexy, smart and very charming. Abbey can’t get her eyes off this stud, but she no longer wants flings. She wants to meet someone special to spend her life with, someone more serious than all these men she keeps meeting. Jason and his brother, Damon, are moving to California to partner with Kyle, Abbey’s brother. This means Abbey has to work with Jason, he will be her new boss. There is no way she can have any sort of romantic relationship with him if she has to work with him. Little does she know, Jason makes it difficult to avoid him.
“Whatever this is between us… I don’t ever want it to end.”
While Kyle is on his honeymoon, Jason forces Abbey to work with him more closely on the new building that was purchased for renovation. As Abbey tries to stay friends with Jason, Jason has his mind made up. He wants Abbey and will keep pursuing her with his charms. It’s unavoidable to keep away from this hunk!
“I love it when you laugh. It makes your eyes fill with so much happiness that I can feel it.”
We meet Pearl, a little 7 year old girl that lives next door to Abbey. Pearl always seems neglected, Abbey cannot help but care for Pearl and wants to be there for her. She spends time with her whenever Pearl is left home alone. Pearl is a special little girl, you can’t help but fall in love with her as you read about her.
I enjoyed this book. I did shed some tears, I totally did not expect that to happen. This is a sweet romance with some sexy scenes. If you are looking for a light read, this is a great book to read. I’m rating this 4.5 stars. The heartfelt story line gave a little extra to the romantic story of Abbey and Jason.
This book is a stand alone or can be read as book 4 in the Beautiful Series by Alicia Rae.
This is book 4 in the Beautiful series. I must admit this is the first book in the series that I have read. If books 1-3 are as awesome as this book, I am one clicking them asap and putting them on my TBR list.
Abbey meets Jason at her brother Kyle's wedding and the two have an instant connection. While Kyle and his new wife Lilly go on their honeymoon, Abbey must take over the family business while Kyle is away. Jason is Lilly's cousin who has just partnered up with Kyle. Abbey has a rule...she does not date any of the men she works with. She tries to fight her feelings for Jason but the more they are together the harder that becomes. Jason wants Abbey to be his so no matter how much Abbey fights him he is determined to break down her walls. I loved Jason and Abbey together!!
I loved the secondary characters in this book, especially Pearl. Pearl is Abbey's 7 year old neighbor who lives with her foster aunt after her foster mom passed away. Abbey realizes that Pearl seems like a lost and lonely child so the two form a bond and grow closer and closer. The aunt seems to always be gone and Pearl always seems to be alone unless she is with Abbey and Jason.
Things between Abbey and Jason are going great until one day Abbey makes a decision without speaking to Jason. Will it destroy their relationship? Will Abbey lose the one man she has come to realize she can't live without?
I don't want to say anything else and give anything away. All I can say is go one click this book now, you won't regret it!! I can't wait for the next book which will be on Abbey's best friend Gail and Jason's brother Damon.
Beautiful Ties is the fourth book in the Beautiful Series, without having read any of the other books in this series. I did enjoy it regardless of that fact.
The story, in my opinion, could be read as a stand-alone because the author includes details from previous books, it was very easy to keep up with what was going on and who was who.
Abby and her brother, Kyle runs a contracting business together when Kyle decides to give his wife Lily’s cousin Jason a job. Abby and Jason met at Kyle and Lily’s wedding a few months back and had an instant connection, but neither had spoken since the wedding. Kyle knew that Abby had feelings for Jason and made her promise that she would keep their relationship on business terms as to not cause problems in the workplace. Abby has no problem with those arrangements at first, but Jason had other ideas.
I really liked Abby’s character; she was very down to earth and extremely hilarious at times. The story was written from her POV, and her reactions to Jason were comical. Jason took her lack of interest as a challenge and only tried that much harder to win her over.
The part of this story that really won me over was when Abby started taking an interest in her next-door neighbor’s daughter named Pearl. This story was every relatable, and really dealt with family dynamics and finding that special someone. I enjoyed every minute of this story and wasn’t ready for it to end!!
I would recommend to anyone looking for a great read filled with lots of romance. I gave this book five stars and will be looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series!! - Billie Jo
I was given this book by Paranormal Romance and Authors that rock for a fair and honest review.
this is the fourth book in the Beautiful series, and I have not read the others, so I was a little wary going in, since I wasn't sure what I had missed, however, this is Abbey and Jason's story. Abbey is Kyle's sister from the first three books.
Abbey meets Jason at Lily and Kyle's wedding and suffice to say, sparks fly! but Abbey will not date Jason while in his employ, a rule Kyle made her swear to when they began working together. Jason tells Abbey that Kyle was insistent that Abbey remain KYLE's employee, and Jason begins to chip away at her walls. Abbey also has befriended 7 yr old Pearl, who appears to be left on her own for long periods, and Abbey and Jason fall in love with her.
things are going smoothly, but when Abbey makes a life changing decision without Jason, can their relationship be saved??
this book, for me, is the darn cutest thing ive read in a long time! I went to bed at 9.45 for an early night and a few chapters, 12.10am, and I'm finished! the plot is good, nothing too complicated, but still very good. the characters are lovable, Gail, Abbey's friend did make me laugh! the story develops and moves along at a good pace. it has hot sex, lots of smouldering passion and HEA with a tie into the next book, which is Gail and Damon, Jason's brother's story.
I should like to go back and read the other three books, just to get Lily and Kyle's story. they appear in this books, as the families are close, and this is a plus for me!
Beautiful Ties was a nice standalone and a great continuation to a great series. Jason and Abbie were sweethearts and such kind hearted people. The way they treated Pearl the orphaned kid was heart rending. They were so sweet to her and she was such an adorable little girl. I loved her immediately. It was so nice to see the rest of Abbie and Jason's family. Kyle and Lily of course and Ryan and Kate as well as the new baby they were expecting. The news that Lily was pregnant told again because of course it was not a surprise to us. The book was a fast read but, it had so much substance and so much feeling it was pretty amazing. Some new adult books just blow you away and this was one of them. I congratulate Alicia Rae for making another extremely thoughtful book which just brings out the good in people. Of course it doesn't ignore the bad like some books do but, she has made sure that the good triumphs the bad which is what should be the case. The characters were well developed. Even though it was one book to explain their feelings and characters. We had got a feel of their characters in the previous books but it was nice to go deeper into Jason and Abbie's lives. Hopefully the next book will be just as good. Alicia Rae has raised my expectations to high standards.
At the beginning you could tell Jason and Abbey were at ease with each other: "Did she just do what I think she did?" Jason asked with an amused expression. "You mean, intentionally leave the two of us here together?" I questioned humorously. "Yep." I let out a deep breath. Jason is just so sexy, "promise you what?" he challenged in an absurdly sexy and gruff voice. The tone sent a delicious shiver pulsating from the tip of my spine down to the base. Before I could form a decent response, he continued, "promise you that I'll keep my hands off you?" He tightened is hold on my waist and gently bit on the bottom of my earlobe." He's just a sly guy when it comes to getting Abbey to agree to that date, "Jason slowly shook his head from side to side. "Baby, last night's Hamburger Helper tasted like paste," he stated good-naturedly. "Besides, you've cooked three evenings in a row. Please let me treat you to a dinner out on the town." His just so damn yummy, "the way you were just looking at me..." he trailed off, shaking his head as if to block out the vision. "I would effing give anything to strip you out of that skirt and take you up against the hood of your Chevy right now." I can't wait for the next book in this series.
Beautiful Ties is a wonderful novel to read as a stand alone or as a part of the Beautiful series. I have not read the first three books, but they've now been added to my TBR pile.
Abbey is an independent woman who's content to be alone. Most of the time. When she sees how happy her brothers are, she yearns for the same thing. But she has Pearl, the seven year old who lives nearby, to keep her company. Pearl is the sweetest little girl. She's also really smart and extremely lonely. She knows she's not wanted at home.
Abbey meets Jason at her brother Kyle's wedding. He's Lilly's, Kyle's bride, cousin. They hit it off and start dating. Jason is caring and funny and loves art. He's also stubborn as a mule. He falls in love not only with Abbey, but with Pearl, too.
Beautiful Ties is such a sweet story about finding a family. It's a good book for everybody.
In Beautiful Ties we have the story of Abbey and Jason. Abbey is Kyle´s sister and Jason is Lily´s drop dead hot cousin. These two met at Kyle and Abbey´s wedding and you could see that the attraction was instant and undeniable.
At the beginning Abbey did not want to feel what she was feeling for Jason. She wanted the feelings disappear but Kyle was persistent. He was determined to have her. As they started to spend more and more time together is was getting harder and harder to resist him.
Watching these two interact and develop their relationship was sweet, beautiful and for sure hot.
This book pressed all the right buttons for me. I was captivated from the beginning. Alicia made me fall in love with her characters.
I look forward to reading more by her.

Book 4 of the Beautiful Series is just as good as the others. In this book, we hear the story continue where it left off, by Kyle's sister, Abbey.
Lily's cousins, Damon and Jason, have become partners with Kyle. While Kyle and Lily are on their honeymoon, Abbey takes charge of the business. Between business and the little neighbor girl, Pearl, Abbey finds herself very busy and her best friend Gail, wants some girl (shopping) time. But something about Jason intrigues Abbey and she needs to find out what that is.
I love how realistic Alicia Rae makes her characters in her stories. I can't wait to read the next book in the series, which will be told by Gail.
Wow... I loved this book. Abbey was one of my favorite characters from the previous books and pair her up with Jason another one of my favorites and I was in heaven. This book is totally not what I expected, but much better.
I loved every moment of this read. I can't wait for the next book in the series (but I am getting ahead of myself here). I loved how this book continued with all the characters I loved. I really enjoy when I get to carry on reading about characters I love even after they get their happily ever after.
This book was a really great read. I couldn't and wouldn't put this book down. I am a huge fan of the series and this very talented author. If you haven't read this series it is well worth your time.
3.5 Stars A sexy and sweet romance for Abbey and Jason. Abbey is Kyle’s baby sister. She’s tired of one night stands and relationships that go no where fast. When she meets Jason she takes him for a player. She plans to stay far away, be friendly and professional. Little does she know what she is up against in Jason- determined would be an understatement. I thought several times it’s a good thing he is family or he’d be damn close to stalker!
What ensues is a fast and intense love affair. Add in a child needing love and a stable home and Abbey may just get everything she has ever wanted- if they can get survive the fight :)
It was beautiful! I like the whole series but this one was my favorite!
I think because it was one book, it had a better pace! It also had steamy scenes but it had an interesting plot to go with them! I loved the dynamic between Abbey & Jason... Of course Pearl was the cherry on top! Very sweet!
It had a unique feel, I have not read a book with this type storyline before and it was not repetitive! OMG, loved the Epilogue! I think Alicia Rae keeps getting better with each book!
We now move onto Kyle's sister Abbey and her passion in life. She meets Jason at Kyle's wedding and they are drawn to each other quickly. Pearl is an integral part of the story that made me fall in love with the characters. Wonderful read- can't wait for another book in this series.
Abbey & Jason story. Abbey is Kyle sister. Jason is Lily's cousin. These two strong personalities sure brought together. Abby's heart for Pearl. Wow! Loved it!! Please get the next out!!
I have been trying to be more determined in my reading by getting rid of books that have been sitting on the Kindle for quite a lengthy time. This one was an older read as you can see it was published almost ten years ago. Beautiful Ties by Alicia Rae was one of those sweet romance love stories with a little bit of tears as this book is just filled with pure love and heart. The book starts at one of the most romantic types of settings, a wedding - Abbey's big brother Kyle is getting married to Lily. At the wedding, Lily's cousin Jason catches the attention of Abbey. The thing though is that Abbey is sick of one-night stand bad boys and Jason looks like one of those guys. She also has a long-standing rule of not dating someone she works with and Jason is about to begin work with Kyle and Abbey. Jason isn't going to give up on pursuing Abbey though and will pull out all the stops to show her he isn't going anywhere. The other storyline in this book that pulled my heartstrings and in places made this book a bit of a tearjerker was Abbey's relationship with Pearl. Pearl is a side character who is seven years old and lives near Abbey. Pearl is living with her Aunt and is often neglected, We read in this book that both Abbey and Pearl may get what they want - a family and love.
I hadn't read the previous books in the series before starting Beautiful Ties (they are on my TBR list now) but thankfully it works well as a standalone. If you have read the first three books you'll probably remember Abbey is Kyle’s sister and Jason is Lily’s cousin. If like me, you're new the series then it's very easy to catch on to who-is-whom.
Abbey and Jason share an instant attraction, but because they'll be working together, Abbey is determined to keep things professional. She's also convinced Jason is a player and heartbreaker. Jason is determined to prove her wrong.
It was fun reading their banter and Abbey's (somewhat futile) attempt to resist him. The events do happen fairly quickly and I kept expecting Jason to have some 'bad guy' qualities or huge secrets - my cynical mind did find him a bit too good to be true at times (this is prob just me and wasn't a reflection on him or the writing). That being said, he can ride his Harley over to England any time he likes!
If you're a fan of Lily, Kyle etc then you'll be pleased to know they do make appearances in Beautiful Ties.
Another aspect Alicia Rae adds to the story is Pearl. Pearl is a little girl who lives next door to Abbey. She's super cute and I loved how involved in their lives she becomes - so sweet! Pearl has been through a lot and she's only seven. Although her story is really sad, Pearl brings a lot of sweet and happy moments to the book. I had my predictions over what was going to happen, but I'll leave you to make your own.
I would have liked to see the story develop over a longer time frame. Plus a few elements were a little convenient, but as I said earlier, perhaps it's more down to me being cynical rather than anything wrong with the story. It's a sweet, contemporary romance that is perfect for reading on the beach, or as I did, on a rainy day in Edinburgh.
I received a copy in exchange for an honest review!
Beautiful Ties is book # 4 in the Beautiful Series and is the first book about Abbey & Jason.
This book is really nice, its warm fuzzy and a lot like a hot chocolate on a cold day, heart warming and comforting.
Ok so the good bits...
• Jason & Abbey are a seriously cute couple.
• Jason rides a Harley!!
• Pearl is a real cutie.
And the not so good bits...
• This book is almost too nice!!!
Now don’t get me wrong I enjoyed this book but it was missing something for me. It’s a lovely story about two lovely people falling in love and then becoming a family with a child who is desperate for a family.
Seriously what’s not to like, well nothing in theory but for me some adversity makes a love story all the more sweet, for me that’s what this book lacks.
Jason & Abbey meet and get together and fall in love and that’s lovely, it all happens very quick like a matter of weeks quick lol.
I love Pearl she’s the saving grace for this book for me, she seems like the brightest and most articulate seven yr old in the world but I still love her and the way she seems to draw people to her.
This is the perfect easy Sunday afternoon read; it’s warm and fuzzy and would go perfect with a glass of wine. It is an easy read when you are looking for an old fashioned romance novel.
