I’ll be the first to admit I’m not the nicest person. I’m not soft and delicate; my edges are sharp, and my words can be, too.
For years, I was told my goals, my education, my athletics, my career was the most important thing, and anything else was temporary. And because I trusted my mother’s prejudiced poison, I let the best man I’ve ever known walk away.
It’s been three years. I don’t want to blindside him, but I had my own hurdles to overcome. My head is on straight now, and it’s time to listen to my heart.
I want Tucker back, and I’ll stop at nothing until my gentle giant knows how much he means to me—and how much I regret letting him go in the first place.
Tucker Kingsley is the one for me—and I don’t care how many peanut butter sandwiches it takes, I won’t stop until we’re back together.
BLITZ is a second chance romance featuring a biracial, sex-positive track and field star and the demisexual football player who has her heart.
i usually love a good second chance romance but this one just didn’t do it for me. i didnt hate it, but mason was so annoying, her personality kinda ruined the whole thing for me. it def has potential but the execution wasn’t there for me.
also…for a football romance, there wasn’t a whole lot of football going on, other than a mention here or there that he is on the team (usually it wouldn’t bother me but if i’m reading a football romance i want him to actually be playing football and stuff yk). i thought the first one did a much better job at balancing between their two sports & teams (although i do love an athletic queen so i love that there was some women in sports representation in this one)
I love a good sports romance, especially in a series where I get to know the team. I didn’t really connect much with the FMC. To be honest, I just didn’t like her. There wasn’t a lot of explanation about the backstory for this second chance romance other than “it just does”. She “just had to break up with him and ghost him before they went off to college” even though her twin brother says she didn’t want to do it and was heartbroken. There wasn’t much explanation or resolution between the twin brother and the MMC who were best friends throughout school. There was mention of him being a demisexual, but never having that conversation with her about why he needed emotional attachment. I just was wanting.. more, I guess.
Mason and Tucker dating throughout high school, and right before college she dumped him via text and ghosted him. 2 years later she transfers to high school with the goal of winning him back, only to watch him from afar for a semester. When they do run into each other, it’s not cordial. But did they ever stop loving each other?
Mason broke Tucker's heart right before they went to separate colleges, and he's never gotten past it. I have to say that I did feel for him quite a bit. Now a couple years later, she transfers into the same college as he's attending, and she's hellbent on gaining forgiveness, and maybe just maybe a second chance. I did feel for her but she did do some damage so it's not going to be easy that's for sure. Blitz was a very emotional second chance as Tucker's pain was palpable while reading. I did want them back together that's for sure but will he be able to forgive her?! Both of them have insecurities, and the years haven't necessarily been kind to either of them so be ready for all the feels coming with Blitz! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Tucker, the male lead, was devastated when his long term girlfriend broke up with him at the end of high school, having believed they would continue their relationship into college. Now, 2.5 years later, he’s worried he’s going mad because he keeps thinking he sees her on his college campus. Mason, the female lead, didn’t believe their relationship could survive distance and wanted Tucker to be free to experiment and experience things without worrying about her. But she’s never stopped caring about him and now she’s transferred to his college partially because she wants to try again.
Tucker became a recluse when she left him but she convinces him to give it another try. But there are significant lifestyle differences between them and, whilst Tucker is willing to give ground in a lot of ways, he’s very worried about some of the unhealthy behaviours he sees Mason engaging in…
This story is dual POV, well written, and an angsty, second chance college romance. It is drama ridden but age appropriate. I enjoyed Tucker and, whilst he had some unhealthy coping strategies of his own, I understood the choices that he made. I admit I didn’t really like Mason - many of the choices she made she seemed to have no reason for. I disliked her approach to their relationship, given Tucker was very clear about what he want and why - I felt she was disrespectful. Tucker saved the story for me - he was calm, patient, and yet willing to set boundaries and stick to them for his own mental health. I also appreciated that both characters sought outside help from a mental health professional and that this was normalised. I enjoyed Tucker’s friends and appreciated the support networks both characters had built.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
For all you sports romance fans, this is book 2 in a series, but can be read as a standalone! This had everything I want in a sweet second chance romance. Sadly as much as I wanted to like Mason I couldn't, and as much as I wanted to feel like Mason was the right person for sweet Tucker... I just couldn't.
🏈 Second Chance 🏈 Collage Sports 🏈 First Love 🏈 Teddy Bear MMC 🏈 Dual POV
My main issue, is I wanted more. I wanted flashbacks, to see more of the past so I could understand why Tucker has such a hard time getting over Mason. I also wanted more time getting to know the characters on their own. I didn't mind how quickly things progressed. We just needed more. I found Mason to be a hard character to like. If we spent more time with her, that could have helped change my option of her.
I really liked seeing old characters again. In this book, we don't spend as much time with the roommates as we did in book 2. I liked the dual POV, and a huge Teddy Bear football player. Tucker relationship with his family was nice, I'm down for a spin off with his brother. 😏 I still have questions about Tuckers friendship with Masons brother. I feel that was a huge thing, then it was touched on and then the book was over.
Tucker swears he's seeing things, surely the beautiful girl before him is not the girl that broke his heart, walked away and never looked back. She headed off to college in the opposite direction and there is no way she'd transfer to his campus... or is there?
Blitz is a wonderfully written story of second chances, personal growth and forgiveness. The history that Tucker and Mason share is filled with hurt, regret, and some lingering feelings of love. When Mason decided to switch schools it was mainly for a new beginning, but to also mend what was broken between her and Tucker. She misses him and wants him back and is willing to do just about anything to win his heart again... if it means suffering his wrath. He is a wounded man, not willing to forgive and he has a lot of hostility to work through. It's a messy and emotional reunion, one I am very happy I had to the chance to read.
This new to me author continues to impress me with her words, this second installment in the series is all heart, angst, and feels and I loved every minute of it. This second chance doesn't come easy, and at times you'll be left wondering if it'll happen... but have a little faith, these two eventually find their way. If you like emotional new adult romances than I have no doubt you'll enjoy what you find between the pages here, Mason and Tucker have quite the captivating and heartfelt story to tell! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest and unbiased opinion.
Mason and Tucker have a history. They were high school sweethearts and best friends before that. Right before they each left for college Mason broke it off. We see them meet again after several years at different colleges. Mason has transferred to win Tucker back. What she doesn’t expect is that Tucker has changed and is not interested in even being her friend after the pain of the break up. When they are forced to work together several times a week on campus they must try and put aside the past and maybe see a future.
This book deals with some very heavy topic- addiction, mental health, trauma to name a few. Like Game plan (previous book in series) it is dealt with in a very thoughtful and honest way. Both Mason and Tucker must address various issues they have before they can move forward together or single. I love the honest approach that it’s ok to seek help. I love the conversations about getting help and setting boundaries.
Mason was tough to like throughout much of the book. She wavered on her resolve on many occasions. She refused to have conversations with Tucker when they were needed. It wasn’t until he gave her an ultimatum that as she even acknowledged her part in the problems.
I think that her and Tuck do have great chemistry. They are able to balance each other out, when they actually talk and communicate their needs to each other.
Being dumped by your high school sweetheart can really hurt, for Tucker Kingsley, it was something that he just couldn’t get over. He thought he had met the one, his person, but when she dumped him over text message, he was heartbroken. Mason thought she was doing the right thing. Tucker and her were getting ready to go to separate colleges, girls throw themselves at Tucker, how could she ever compare to the other beautiful girls Tucker will be around. So she let him go, this way he could explore his options, or so she thought. Tucker was devastated after Mason left, he only got together with one girl, and for him that was a drunken mistake. Two and a half years later Tucker never thought he would run into his ex-girlfriend on his college campus. All Mason wants to do is talk to Tucker, but he makes that task impossible. He does everything to either ignore her existence. He can’t even look at her. I received this book as an ARC. I’m still dipping my toes into sports romance, but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The characters came with strong backgrounds and you easily got to know them though their actions. If I were Tucker I would have made Mason wait a little longer before I talked to her, let alone date her again. I was happy to see the character growth on both Tucker and Mason, especially Tucker being the big strong football player going to see a therapist for his issues. I am excited to see where this series continues to go.
“Blitz” is a sweet and emotional college based second chance romance that brings all the hardships of being a college student/athlete while trying to figure out your life.
Tucker is on the football team and has been living day to day after his relationship with his girlfriend ended over two years ago. Throughout the semester, he thought he had seen her around campus but she had been attending a different school, until now. Mason has transferred to his school and wants another chance with Tucker. But like any college student, they face some obstacles along the way.
I love that this series is focused around the other side of the football line, the protectors. Tucker is a sweet guy who wants to give the world to Mason. His insecurities are so relatable to most, especially being adopted. Mason is an interesting character and it took a minute for me to warm up to her. She has some insecurities like Tucker but was using the normal coping mechanisms that college students use. I knew she loved him but I felt like she was using him too. The last couple chapters helped me clear up any negative feelings I had about her. There’s definitely a lot of emotions and angst which add to Tucker and Mason’s story. We get more scenes with the rest of the team and I can’t wait to read their stories.
I’m gonna steal Tucker Kingsley. This MMC is an absolute teddy bear of a man. He has feelings and emotions and he’s not afraid to take time and space to heal. As much as I liked this book it was mainly because of Tucker. I can honestly say I hate the FMC not only did she hurt the best man she could ask for so she could have random flings and get blackout drunk she waits two and a half years to come back and forces him to admit he still loves her then becomes so emotionally distant that he starts doubting himself and binge eating to make himself feel better. Tells him she loves him and wants nobody else but doesn’t want an emotional connection with sex she wants it to be meaningless. I honestly wish they wouldn’t have gotten back together. He tried to meet her half way their entire relationship and she didn’t. She pushed and pushed even when he asked her to stop. If she was a man and roles were reversed it would be considered harassment.
Blitz by Allie Lasky. Yay we get to read Tucker’s story. I was intrigued by Tucker in the first book so I was excited to have his journey next. This is his and Masons story and I for one was eager to get my hands on it. Mason broke Tucker before he left for college and she was supposed to be away from Boston and in D.C. yet she is in his town and in his college. Now they are both working for The assessment center dude by side. I mean what can go wrong right. I mean come on with this author. She got me with Game Plan which if you haven’t read it it is Miles story which is so good and heartbreaking. However Tucker oh my Tuckers book is a full blown roller coaster ride of emotions and I did not want to get of this ride. I loved every second of it. I high recommend you grab this book and read it it’s so darn good. I’m can’t wait for Barrett’s book and well all of the guys.
“I want to be romanced. I want to be courted. And maybe it’s a function of modern college dating, but I can’t help to feel cheated that I don’t get the fairytale romance I see in movies or read about in books.” *** This was such an interesting and emotional book. I enjoyed the first one and equally enjoyed this one as well. It’s a college football romance, but it’s a bit more emotional than I expected a college sports romance to be. I really liked Tucker’s character, but didn’t love Mason. I think this speaks to how well Allie Lasky wrote Mason’s character. I definitely went through a rollercoaster of emotions while reading and was really impressed by the writing style. It has made me more intrigued to continue reading Allie Lasky as well. I definitely think this series is worth reading!
Mason is so annoying I cannot deal with her at all. No redeeming qualities tbh, she was so narrow minded and selfish. She should have STAYED in Georgetown. Tucker deserved better ngl. I had to continuously stop due to how idiotic mason was and her twin was just as bad lol. Would have loved to see Tucker find someone who communicated and wasn’t constantly belittling him, ie. saying he was a recluse and she didn’t want to “waste” her youth. Like I’m the long run this couple is gonna end up in divorce lmao! It should have ended when Tucker broke up with her and she didn’t go after him and continued to paint herself as the victim, even though Tucker was trying so hard to compromise and understand her. Hiding behind the guise of being “too young” is such a lame and pathetic excuse in my opinion.

So I struggled a little bit with this one, mainly because I didn't really care for Mason. Don't get me wrong, this was definitely a good read, I was just so darn mad at Mason for hurting Tucker and how she just crashed back into his life. Tucker on the other hand was so sweet and I feel like he was taken advantage of by her. I am glad though that they were able to mend the breaks in their relationship and get their happy ending because Tucker definitely deserved it. I was just a little sad that I didn't like her character and never fully came to be happy with her. Who knows, maybe I was too all up in my feels. I am looking forward to more in the series and can't wait to see what else is in store for the guys!
This is the 2nd book in this amazing series, and this is Tucker and Mason’s journey. Mason broke Tuckers heart on the eve before they left for separate colleges, and now 2-years later, Mason has transferred to the same college, and is hoping to make amends and get a 2nd chance, but can Tucker forgive her, or is it too late? This is a well written story which is a sweet and emotional roller coaster, with end chances, angst, romance, drama, insecurities, regrets, turmoil, forgiveness, and love, which leads to a compelling and poignant page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
This is a very well written sweet and emotional college based second chance romance that brings all the hardships of being a college student and athlete, all while trying to figure out your life. He’s a football player, living day to day after a broken heart due to his girlfriend breaking up with him two years ago to go to a collage across the country. Throughout the semester he keeps thinking he caught glimpses of her around campus and then learns she transferred to his school and wants another chance with him. The story is written in dual POV and it’s a a very well written angsty second chance college romance. I enjoyed the characters a lot, especially him, he was calm and patient.
Allie Lasky knows how to describe a sportsman student's life perfectly. This series is a really good journey into Sport Village and her occupants mainly focused on those who usually are far from interesting, the defensive squad of football players. They are big guys with delicate personalities who are mostly overlooked by football fans and other students. Their romantic adventures, struggles and challenges are the perfect pastime read. Tucker and Mason's story is full of valuable thoughts and reflections about healthy habits and life goals. The book is a good size but there are some repetitions to the main reflections and descriptions which can be annoying. Otherwise, it's an enjoyable read.
I thought that this book was full of hurt and sorrow yet ends in love. Tucker is upset with Mason who broke up with him years ago and then comes back into his life, wanting to get back together with him. There is so much pain here and yet, I really couldn't get into this story 100% as I really did not like Mason. However, the story flowed fairly well and I wanted to find out what happened in the end.
I received a free advanced reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest review.
Is there a future if the past actions can't be forgiven?
If you love college sports romance then I recommend Tucker & Mason's story "Blitz". Their story is an emotional rollercoaster ride. Mason broke Tucker's heart the night before they were due to go to seperate colleges. Now attending the same college, Mason wants Tucker back. Can they leave the past in the past for a chance at a future?.

In Blitz we meet Mason and Tucker. Back in high school Mason broke Tucker’s heart trying to save them from heartbreak later on. Ever since Mason broke Tuckers heart, tucker has been surviving not living. You can feel Tuckers pain while reading Blitz. Both Mason and Tucker have insecurities and the tears apart haven’t been kind to either of them. What happens when love gets a 2nd chance? You get tears, more heartache and the ultimate second chance at a happy ever after.
Look. I never expected to be a sports romance fan even if I was the epitome of a kick growing up. There's just something about the way @allielasky writes these amazing football players. They all have such intriguing back stories and personalities. Mason and Tucker are such an amazing duo and their HEA is far from without bumps and dips in the road. Plus, he's a diehard PB&J fan making him a man after my own heart.
I gave this book a three star because I was not impressed with the female lead, Mason. Her attitude and behavior towards Tucker was childish and selfish. Tucker is such a great guy, and she messed him up royally with her flip-flopping feelings. I am glad he chose to stand up to her and get himself some therapy. It was a good read, but not one I would read a second time.
Mason (FMC) is legit awful. She never knew what she wanted and was so wishy washy, she couldn’t compromise and meet in the middle it was always her way or the highway. She wanted Tucker back and when she got him back she immediately went back to her old ways. The book should’ve been Tucker never getting back with her judgmental ass and him finding a new person that actually respects him. Mason can go rot in a frat house for all I care
I’m not the target audience for this book, but let me tell you…even folks with ZERO connection to sports can enjoy this! The story is sweet and a little sexy, heartwarming and easy to read. It felt like getting to know a new friend, cozy and comfortable. Plus, I love peanut butter, so the MMC and I had a lot in common 😂 Super sweet read, 4.5 ⭐️
This is a more sweet than steamy type of love story. There is some spice, but not as much as I usually prefer. The story is about Mason and Tucker. Mason broke Tucker’s heart, thinking she was doing the right thing and this was devastating for him. The story is about them coming back together. It is a swoon worthy read that gives you the feels!
I liked that the football players this series is based around aren't the stars of the team and collectively all prefer a quite life. I'm didn't like Mason as much, she seemed oblivious to Tuckers feelings and I'm not sure of the cause of her insecurities.

Such an amazingly written second chance romance! I’m always impressed by Allies characters and how well their written. I absolutely loved the dynamic between Mason and tucker and the well written angst in this book. If you love a grumpy man then you need to read this book, filled with cute moments and Mason trying to win back Tuckers love this was such a fun read.
This book was cute. It took me a bit to warm up to Mason but I lovedddd Tucker! I enjoyed the second chance Romance bit and of course love this friend group so much. I enjoyed that both Mason and Tucker had stuff to work on separately and they were willing to put in the work. And I love how inclusive this book was (and the rest in the series has been).
I thought this book was great and loved the fact it is a sports and second chance romance. I have been really into sports romances lately and this one does not disappoint. I thought the characters were great and I liked how it showed how much they both grew when deciding to give things another chance. I can't wait to read more in this series!
This story was good but I couldn't give it more stars due to the fact I didn't like Mason, at all. Tucker deserved so much better! I was hoping he was going to meet someone else. She had zero redeeming qualities. I have the next book in the series and am hoping it'll be good like the first
