Nancy Madore achieved enormous critical acclaim with her ENCHANTED series, which includes ENCHANTED, ENCHANTED AGAIN and ENCHANTED DREAMS.
Now, following her life-long interest in ancient history and mythology, Nancy Madore is launching a new series in the historical and science/speculative fiction genres, called LEGACY OF THE WATCHERS. So far, the series includes THE HIDDEN ONES and POWER OF GODS. Madore is currently working on the third book in the series.

Madore, Madore, Madore, I want MORE! I was mistaken in thinking that Masquerade was the final instalment in Nancy Madore's Watcher series, and that mistake will haunt me until the fourth book is out.
Book three is a step up from her previous installment, with every page full of intrigue and mystery; With all of the characters at the breaking point trying to fight for what they believe in. By this time you will have a favorite character and you'll be rooting for their success. Nadia has taken a side and become more active in the fight against the djinn or any act of terrorism. Lilith is free to do what she pleases, and her determination to set her love free stops at nothing. You meet new characters who are sweet (Beth) and prideful (Poseidon) and their point of view on things are... insightful, to say the least.
Madore knows how to keep her readers begging for more. There is not one instance in the whole book where you get the whole story, and as the characters are piecing the puzzle together, you are trying to find alternative reasonings. When an idea strikes you, you almost wish that you could debate the point with Clive, Gordon or Will. Her masterfully woven tale is impeccably addictive and you will not be able to rest until the story wraps up.
By the gods! I have to wait until February for the next book!
Miss Nancy has done it again! She transports us back in time, giving rich detail and backstory to our legends. She fills in puzzle pieces and makes me want to study the legends more.
She gives heart to the 'monsters' and vilifies the 'good guys'.
Another great installment to the series!
I guess you're supposed to disclose if you received a book for free? Well, I did receive this from the author, but it wouldn't have mattered I'd paid full price + shipping, I genuinely loved this book! And, thank you again, Miss!
Max Wessler was head of DoD. The other T.D.M.R. employees were: Ethan Blevins (computer technician), Gordon, Greg Ritter, & Finbury.
Delta Junction, AL.; Beth (32; Elizabeth) Timmons started back drinking vodka again pondering was Wayne Timmons (husband; T.D.M.R.; djinn) really dead? Had he left her very wealthy?
T.D.M.R. had confiscated all his belongings including her mother’s old computer. But they did not know about his secret room. Wayne had taken out a $200,000 life insurance policy, she was the sole beneficiary. Their marriage was going downhill but was he whacked by someone from T.D.M.R.? Beth decided it was time to go into the secret room. She later managed to crack the password & what were the clues of $8,703,365.94 on a bank statement, & what would Highgate Cemetery (Brisbin) uncover?
Off to London Beth went.
Nadia Adeire 1st generation) decided to move BEACON from Manhattan to Jolly Beach, Antigua. She met a local Yolanda (waitress). She was beginning to lose interest in the organization she had once founded. Was Nadia just running away from her past bad memories (PTSD)? She was having a panic attack & Clive called 911.
Nadia was checked out & sent back home. She was wondering how she could patch things up with Will (Nadia B/F). Clive also reminded her she was the 1 who could help solve the problem of Lilith & the Poseidon (djinn) & the Armageddon (war of the angels, California earthquakes, 9/11/2001) they created across the US.
Nadia was going to have a telethon to help raise money for those victims of the California Earthquake disasters. For the Masquerade Ball at the plaza (Manhattan, NY) she decided on the name of Farewell to Hollywood. Nadia & her staff would solicit other surviving big name talented performers, actors & musicians. Georgia (assistant; Lilith) was helping everyone get things organized. IDCE a network also offered their services. The benefit will cost PPL $50,000 a plate.
Gordon got in touch with Nadia & informed her he/Clive were going to investigate T.D.M.R.
Lilith would only exchange the Poseidon (god of the sea) for Asmodeous ring. Asmodeous (Edward Adeire; Nadia father) was securely in T.D.M.R. (potential threat; troubleshoot/categorize) facility. Ornias (djinn; 3rd generation) was also in the dome. He has a valuable ring also. Nadia had quit & Gordon was fired from T.D.M.R. The DoD will be watching their every move. BEACON would be the perfect cover (front). The DoD was also investigating T.D.M.R.
Lilith (djinn) was coming to visit Nadia. But when/where? Low & behold Georgia (assistant) is really Lilith. She gave Nadia the real ring. The trade in return is Poseidon (djinn) for her father Asmodeous (Edward Adeire). Phillip Benderman also shows up he is really Poseidon. Georgia is later found at the library back to normal.
Nadia is going to meet with Jeremy Nasterson (CEO; New Energy Technologies (NET). Is it about the telethon or could it be something else?
What does the message “A dark angel came for me, and stayed behind to guard the key to his immortality.” on the grave in Highgate Cemetery of Lieutenant John Brisbin (1904-1981) mean to Beth?
Who/what is the mysterious beautiful woman Isabella (T.D.M.R.) that appears at Beth’s house?
How is Asmund a key to this mysterious T.D.M.R. puzzle?
A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. Another very well written cat/mouse adventure fantasy mythological book. The 3rd sequel (trilogy) also flips back/forth in time to the ancient world of Israel (ethnic/cultural/religious) then back to the present day. It was very easy to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. No grammar errors, some repetition (book filler), but no out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. To be continued. This could also make great adventure movie, animated cartoon, or mini TV series. Another easy rating of 5 stars.
Thank you for the free book (Goodreads) Tony Parsons MSW (Washburn)
I received the book from the author for an honest review.
As more questions arise within the book, the more Nadia, and the men in her life, were more determined to find the answers to them. Each time the story delves deeper into the mysteries of the dijnn, their purpose and reasons for living. In book 1, we learned about Lilith, the creation of the Nephilim, and the times before the flood. In book 2, we learned more about the dijnn after the flood and their survival as they tried to build the land once again with the help of humans, taking us to the build of the Temple in Biblical times. In book 3 we learn more about the Greek Mythology, especially the role of Zeus and Poseidon and the ultimate distruction of Atlantis, the Greeks gods and what it has to do with Armageddon. From book 1 - Book 3 the question remained the same: How did Asmodeous plan to stop Armageddon? The way that the author brought all the history known to man together to create this exciting series was truly very creative and unique. I, for one, just loved this whole series.
Nadia, and her team is back, although Will's roll was more at the background, while Nadia, Clive and Gordon tried to find the answers and solutions for the impending disaster. Striking up a bargain with one of thee richest men in the world didn't spell good, and Nadia had to pull all her resources to "win" the day. But, as with every man made plan it backfired and now we must wait for book 4. My word, but Ms. Madore knows how to write!
I really enjoyed the mufti-facet story from beginning to end. Each time we meet a dijnn, I am in wonder about her descriptions of each of these "spirits". Some was heartfelt, and some pure evil. But, at the end they, too, were controlled by the power and greed of human kind doing the will of the one that had the ring.
The never ending love story between Lilith and Asmodeous really touches the heart. Their devotion to each other and the cause the thread that kept everything together.
I must say that I really liked Beth's role as well. She really became a strong character as she, too, try to find the answers to her husband's death.
Really a great series, filled with mystery, the ever present question: is God really out there? Capturing the imagination as you walk through history to discover a world within a world.
Masquerade is the third book in the series by Nancy Madore. It continues where the second book leaves off in the story of Nadia and three secret agents who try to stop the evil plans of the "djinn". While this book would be enjoyable by itself, I suggest reading the first two books first to become familiar with the story and the characters.
In this book Nadia is planning a masquerade ball fund raiser to benefit the victims of an earthquake in California. She, Clive, and Gordon are also working behind the scenes to stop an evil plot being carried out by an obscure government agency. Nadia and Will's romance is still going strong, but Nadia finds herself hiding details of what she's actually doing from him. Can Nadia and her friends save the earth from a catastrophic attack by using the Djinns? Or are they just pawns in a plan that was put in motion centuries ago?
I enjoy the author's writing style, with believable dialog and multiple plot lines that keeps me reading until way past my bedtime. I've always enjoyed books written in a series because you begin the next book familiar with the characters and invested in the storyline. There are a couple of new characters introduced in this book, but the rest feels like old friends.
I'm looking forward to book four, which will be released in 2015, to find out how the story ends.
I read 2nd Book of this Series a while ago & the only reason why I avoided reading this 3rd Book is because I wanted a Book to fall on to after reading some sucky ones & Nancy Madore never disappoints.
Book 3 starts with Nadia planning to host a Charity event for victims of Earthquake in California, while she & her team mates Clive & Gordon extract some mind-numbing information from Poseidon. Alternately Elizabeth, whose husband dies in a Gruesome manner, finds out some shocking revealations about him. Both this stories are connected to T.D.M.R, which was responsible for Earthquake in California & is also planning a huge ruckus in Japan.
Nancy Madore is Aphrodite of Words. She engages you first in the plot & then teases you by upholding information, throwing you bits & pieces here & there. You realise her sorcery on storytelling while reading Poseidon's version of History. I have read a lot of Mythological books, but no work has enthralled me as much as Nancy's take on Gods. The Kind of Research Nancy has done on this Book is Phenomenal & she justifies it by weaving it perfectly in this Book. Eagerly awaiting for the Next Book.
This review is for the first three books in the series.
This series is fantastic. I enjoy mysteries and historical fiction and this has both. There are some paranormal elements but they read more like science fiction. It's not only believable but this author actually got me believing. I was impressed with how she took myths from around the world and tied them all together. It makes you wonder. The main story takes place in the here and now, but your repeatedly taken back to the past through these “souls” that are trapped here. The story of how they got here is fascinating. I couldn’t tell fact from fiction by the time it was over. The author ties in the myths with current events really well. She takes on big oil and HAARP, corruption, greed, taxes. You name it. Nothing is off limits. The 1st book has a lot of background but its also a complete novel with a great ending. All by itself, I probably would have given it 4 stars. Then I read the 2nd book, which bumped it up to 4.5. Book 3 sent it over the top. The way the author tied all this together was no small task. I couldn’t put it down until I finished and I've been thinking about it ever since. I especially liked the characters from the myths. There’s Asmodeus, Lilith, Gilgamesh, Zeus, Poseidon, the list just goes on and on. They seem like real characters to me now. The only negative thing I can say about the series is that it isn't finished. I thought this was a trilogy and that’s why I agreed to review it. The ending of book 3 left me on the edge of my seat. This new series is definitely one to try.
"Masquerade" is book 3 in the "Legacy of the Watchers" series by Nancy Madore. After the disaster that destroyed California, Nadia wants to host a masquerade ball to raise funds for the victims, with the additional motive to hunt down the people responsible for allowing the disaster to take place. Nadia, Gordon, and Clive strike a treacherous bargain with the sea god Poseidon to achieve their mission, all while risking their private lives in a deadly game of deception.
I'm rather confused about this last book because the back synopsis says "the shocking conclusion" while the very last page of the book says there is a book 4 that was supposed to come out back in February 2015. I looked on Goodreads and did some Google searching and apparently a book 4 does not exist. Absolutely no information in regards to this series. I honestly would not have minded a fourth book because this third book certainly ends rather abruptly with a massive amount of loose ends. I guess we shall never know.
Anyway, this third (final?) book was another fun installment. My one complaint with every book is that the good stuff literally always happens in the last 10% of the book and always ends in such a way that's abrupt and kind of frustrating and we never actually get to witness the major stuff go down. For instance, things are getting wild at the end of this book and Nadia just happens to go unconscious during an incredible pivotal part of the narrative and I was screaming because I wanted to actually see what happened rather than being told about it. Nancy Madore tends to do that a lot with the whole series. She does a lot of telling rather than showing which can be very frustrating. What was fun about this installment was that we get away from the more Biblical elements that have been present in the previous two books and we head down Greek mythology territory. I really liked how Nancy Madore tied in the Greek gods with the lore she'd already established with the Nephilim. I also liked seeing Nadia actually doing her job. Since book one we know she's the CEO of a company that provides aid to disaster victims. So it was nice to see her in her element as she's coordinating this masquerade ball and having to rub the egos of people she doesn't particularly like so she can get their charity money for the victims of the California disaster that concluded the second book. Speaking of the masquerade: I would have loved for that to be more present in the story. Like I said, the good stuff, which is the masquerade, takes place in the last 10% or so of this book and I would have loved for that part of the narrative to really go wild and crazy, but instead it abruptly ends as it's getting good. I also liked the addition of Beth in the story, the wife of one of the men that was killed in the previous book. Beth is a grieving, drunken widow who comes to discover that her husband had some secrets and he wasn't who he said he was, which in turns ties in quit nicely to characters like Lilith and Asmodeous. Seriously, I think Beth's chapters were my fave because at least her narrative was moving more than Nadia's was. Once again I continued to like Clive and Gordon, who have way more personality and page time than Nadia's love interest Will, who I'm still confused about. Again: this man kidnapped her and she's in love with him over the course of a month? Will is not a bad character, I do like him, but it's the execution of their romance that rubs me the wrong way and I needed more of a buildup to it.
That's pretty much all I can say about this book without heading into more spoiler territory. This installment was fun with the masquerade and the possible threat to the future of our main characters as it appears they might be about to commit treason. There's lies and deception. Politics and conspiracy. Greek gods! Overall, an okay conclusion to some extent, but it definitely left me hanging because it seems like a fourth book was supposed to tie everything up.
I loved reading ‘Masquerade’!! Reading about the new djinn Poseidon is entertaining and engaging experience.
But when it ended, it left me a bit sad as I wanted to know more right then. I didn’t want to stop reading the book but… we’d have to wait for the fourth installment.
For all the fans of myths and fantasy this series is highly recommended.
I'm very sorry to give up on this since, it was a book I received it from the author i exchange for an honest review. While i liked the main plot, it moved forward very slowly, in part because of the way it was interrupted by the secondary story. I had liked Nadia and Will's relationship in the previous book I was uncomfortable with all of the secrets she was keeping.
I'm not all that into history but this series caught and held my interest from the beginning. The writing was excellent. Could see this really happening. This is science fiction at its best.
