I wasn't sure what to make of this when i bought it as the sample pages don't give much away and other reviewers only left star ratings. I'm glad i did though because it provided me with a lot of resources and ideas/prompts.

I wasn't sure about the short chapters but actually it's helpful because i can find what i was looking for quickly. A few chapters plug her other guides, which are also discussed in a page at the end, no need for the mentions in the actual book imo. There is some repetition between chapters and ideas but that's too be expected.

I found much of the genre descriptions really valuable, ideas and guides which i know will help my brain generate more as it percolates. Genres and subgenre have changed since i last gave creative writing a go and this handy little guide has helped me navigate it all.

Will i purchase more? Yes i suspect so :) The author has a friendly and informal way of explaining things so it's like having a friend leading you into the adventure.
