In a race against time, who will love or heartbreak?
Finally settled in a new city, Jason Finnegan-Hart was prepared to stop running and ready to lay his sins to rest… but what happens when the smoke and mirrors fade and ghosts from his past come back to haunt him?
Jason hoped this final chapter would be filled with the silence and darkness he craved. In a surprise twist, he found himself thrown into the radiant and cheery world of Ava Brooks, an author who dared to believe that love could save him.
Each grappling with their own demons, the two set off on an unlikely friendship; one riddled with silent promises and harsh truths that forced Jason to face every version of himself, even the ones he thought he’d long buried.
Follow along as we start at the end, with a heartbroken Jason as he tells the story of how he fell for her.
If there was ever a duolgy that I wish had infinite books it's THIS ... I love discovering gems like this on KU! Of course goes without saying once again thanks to my bestie for recommending this book... THEY HAVE MY HEART FOREVER 😭❤️🩹😭
I loved book one so when I saw there was going to be a second book in Jason's perspective, I was excited but this was a let down. It was basically just a carbon copy of book one, just from a different pov. Only a handful of information was new to the story (ie.jason looking back on his childhood etc.) but the rest was copy and paste of scenes and conversations from book 1. This book was unnecessary and really didn't need to be written, it provided no new incite to the story, I basically just re read book one again. And to be over 400 pages was just overkill. Definitely could've been cut a hundred pages and been fine. Should've left it as one book.
I am utterly broken by this book. I knew how it was gonna end yet still it broke me. Jason deserved better. He was only filled with anger because he didn't have the childhood he deserved. He lost more than he gained. Although after reading this duet I'll need therapy, i still highly recommend it. I have 0 regrets reading it.
I’ve been waiting for this ever since I read falling for heartbreak. Let me just say this one broke me just like FFH did. I cried nonstop from the beginning to the end. This is one of my favorite duets.
