Pros: Not your typical zombie book, thank GOODNESS. I've said that about this whole trilogy, though! I'm so excited to FINALLY have answers too, as well as an ending that is pacifiable.
I would've liked to know what caused the virus to begin with, but the fact that this trilogy as a whole is the most "realistic" zombie story I've ever read, I'll be fine. I loved that it could almost make sense this kind of happening could happen.
Zombies in their nature aren't sensical, but when a book makes them seem they could be... Count me in! I loved that these zombies weren't able to move around if their guts were falling out. I loved that a virus needs a living host and these humans were prime real estate!
Cons: This is a very action heavy book, which I know isn't really a con. It fits the theme and genre. I just ended up skimming through some of those parts because the plot itself with character interaction was too good to pass up!
Conclusion: If you're ready for a zombie story that isn't too far fetched and would make you scratch your head if it could happen (such as when ants are infected by fungus), read this series! Same if you like zombies but need a palate refresher!
I always hate to see a Piperbrook series end. He always writes such great post-apocalyptic stories! He's one of my favorites in this genre! Absolutely loved this series. Great conclusion to the story with loads of suspense! Great ending for Hannah and Cody. Don't want to give away any spoilers though. I'll be looking forward to the next series!
My only critique is that the overuse of metaphors - “like” and “as if” was extremely distracting at times. But the storyline was good and I loved the ending!
This one was slow. I just couldn't get into it. I wanted the main characters and supporting characters to make it, but I couldn't wait for the story to wrap up.
