Iris stands on the precipice of her legacy as a Phoenix, her powers flickering to life like embers in the dark. But the shadows still stir, threatening to snuff out the fragile spark of her potential.
Thalia finds herself ensnared in the tangled threads of her family's ambitions. Her fate is not her own, but a pawn in the game of alliances and dominance. The pressure mounts as Thalia's parents scramble to secure a marriage alliance that will fortify their Clan's standing.
The stakes rise as Adrian and Iris navigate the uncharted territory of their fated connection. Bound by destiny, they must grapple with the complexities of love while racing against time to thwart the imminent threat posed by Evelyn, Isaac, and the Court of Shadows.
Will they unlock the secrets that bind them and forge a path towards salvation, or will the darkness consume them all?
This has been the best book of the series so far. I hung onto every word and I was fully transported into a different world. I really enjoyed the chapters where we were able to get more of Thalia’s point of view. The characters are well written and they spark such strong emotions for the reader. I await “Familiar” with bated breath.
I am still enjoying this series as a whole, but sometimes the writing is just a bit off. The story is really good, but some of it is overly detailed and then other parts are not. I will still be reading book four. So all in all it‘s good.
The story of Iris (FMC) and her best friend Thalia is really lovely. The love interest for Iris is also a great supporter… i really like the dynamic between all the characters. There is also some spice.. so always a bonus in my opinion.

This is the third book in this series, which I still have very high hopes for. The characters are easy to relate too (yes I’m aware it’s fantasy), the plot is unpredictable and I really enjoyed the multiple POVs in this one. Keeping that in mind, was this my favourite book so far..no, which doesn‘t mean it wasn‘t good. The main problem I had was that more than half of the book felt like filler, I understand that it provided information that I needed to understand the plot but it just felt too descriptive. It went so hard into detail, that I struggled to keep on reading. Now to the but, the ending was great…great character development, plot twists and the action I was waiting for. If the split between beginning and end were a bit more balanced it would be a 4 if not 5 star read.
It's getting more and more interesting. I'm so sad that the next book isn't already published.
Looking back, there didn't actually happen that much "action," but while reading, it never felt that way. This book was a sort of preparation—not the whole book, but around 80 percent—which is quite a lot. However, because of some things (I think it's kind of a spoiler to say what), the danger isn't distant.
I also liked getting to read from Thalia’s POV, because (if I remember correctly) it’s only Iris's POV in the heirloom and in legacy.
This is my favorite book in the series, at least for now.
4 stars.

Witching hour continues the story of Iris and her best friend Thalia. Both discovered a secret but not yet all the answers to their many questions. While Iris knows she’s a phoenix and of course, that she is mated to Adrian, Iris has to go through the pain of a looming betrothal to a total stranger for clan politics while starting to bury her own hopes of a mate. All while Isaac lurks around and Evelyn threatens to destroy the world as they know it.
It’s an easy to read, fast paced story with some slower parts that I recommend for anyone enjoying mysteries and great characters, female friendships, fmcs, blending the supernatural and the human world.

Iris & Thalia's relationship is as extraordinary as are the two young ladies themselves; and in this book we learn even more about them.
This time Thalia's story comes to the forefront; her parents are determined that she should be married and are now taking the matter out of her hands.
It didn't take me long to pick from the end of the second book and continue on my journey. I would have preferred to a longer ending simply because i found myself asking 'what about this & that'.
Bly's writing just gets better.

Since it had been awhile since I had read the first two books in this series I went back to the beginning and started over and this latest book did not disappoint. Iris and Adrian became the perfect pair and finally Thalia gets something for herself. Silas was unpleasant so yay hopefully he won’t be too much of an issue but Luke yum. The knife is gone so hopefully that means Ewan is back to his complete self. The phoenix legend holds true so for now at least all is well. Can’t wait for “Familiar”.

I was so excited to get this one for free, that I made sure to read the prior two books first to catch myself up to speed.
The last two in the series got only 4 stars from me, but only because of the cliffhangers. This one fixed it! I'm sure that there is more to Iris and Adrian's story, but at least the biggest obstacle seems to be gone. I couldn't predict a whole lot about this series as everything was so unexpected, but I did manage to get one thing right while reading this book. I won't mention what it is, because it may spoil the next one, but YAHOO! I can't wait for it to come out…
Fair warning…read the other books first. It's totally worth it and they give important background information that will make Witching Hour make more sense. That being said, this is a great book! The author does a wonderful job of making this book fit into the previous books. There are several stories in these books and they are all pulled together here. I recommend this book to fantasy readers and I look forward to reading the next book I received this book as an Advanced Reader Copy and I am happy to leave this voluntary review.
This was a great third book and a fantastic addition to this series. Well paced, once again I found myself drawn in with the exciting and enthralling storyline and incredible world building. Our characters have grown and developed and it was awesome to see more of them. There’s lots of drama, lots of magi, there secrets and so much more that had me hooked and hanging onto the edge of my seat. Loved it!
I've absolutely been loving this series so far. I loved getting to read Thalia's POV for the first time in this book, and I hope we get to do that more in the future. The battle was exciting and the ending left me with satisfaction while still looking forward to more.

Iris, Lyra, Adrian and Thailia along with others in their support system train and learn new ways to handle their majic. Aunt Evelyn wanted all the power she could steal - lots of drama earth shattering challenges. Fantastic book.
3rd of the series, and I am enjoying each book. I love how everyone has their own POV. And the storyline is actually not predictable. Leading us up to the next book, which I can't wait to read. I received an advance review copy at no cost and am leaving this review voluntarily. 🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛
Before reading this, I revisited the first two books in this series and I will say this was the perfect 3rd installment!
The plot was pure perfection, with adequate pacing and I never felt a lull at any point. There wasn't a ton of *action* so to speak but it wasn't ever a dull moment, if that makes sense. I love that though, because it made for a great installment where you get to know the characters and world a little more.
Character development was great, and I loved seeing more from Iris and Adrian, and the other side characters that continue to add more to thicken this juicy series up a little.
The world-building and focus on magic systems was perfectly executed and I feel like we were IN the world, without the writing being too fluffy or descriptive, which I feel can sometimes take over the plot.
Overall, this is a great installment and got 5 stars for me for being an exceptional and alluring book that captivated me and kept my attention from page one to the very last line and I absolutely cannot wait until this series is complete.
