It all started with a sex scene…

Well, I was failing to write a sex scene.

As an author of over fifty smut books, I was struggling to do what I did best. So, for fun, I asked one of my best online friends for some help.

I really shouldn’t have done that…

He wrote the scene far better than I ever could, and seven months of platonic, yet-flirty friendship were wiped away in ten minutes.

He asked to meet me in person…

We’d previously agreed to keep things digital, to remain faceless friends—since he was forty-two, and I was twenty-six, but neither of us could resist.

When I saw him at the airport, I was instantly attracted to him.

But I knew, right then and there, that we could never be.

It turns out that the man I’d been talking to for the past several months was the last person I expected.

The last person I should ever think about…

He’s my dad’s best friend.

Here’s all you need to know about this book:

It’s short (a novella).
It’s smutty and sexy, but not over the top.
It has a hint of a forbidden vibe (lightly forbidden).
There’s an age gap romance: the heroine is in her late 20s, and the hero, her dad’s best friend, is in his 40s.

The writing includes the author’s signature wit and her well-known email correspondence style, but it’s not her strongest work. The beginning felt a bit choppy, and it seemed like the author tried to squeeze too much into a small package.

That said, it’s great for a quick, sexy read. Perfect for when you need something light and easy between heavier books!

5 ”Dane, yes please come over” stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“I walked over to the door and opened it. “Thank you so much for—” My words stalled in my throat at the sight of Dane.
“Hello, Bella,” he said, his voice deep.
I gasped, unable to say anything else when he was standing so close to me. His lips were curved into a smirk, and his beautiful eyes were locked on mine.

I’m no stranger to this author’s books. Her writing is witty, funny, sexy and damn steamy. When my eyes landed on this and then the blurb, it was no brainer for me and I enjoyed the hell out of this. Her naughty bedroom collection is going to my auto-buy list. They are going to be smutty and forbidden and perfect for a bedtime read. It’s definitely off to a great start.

Christina/Bella is a erotic book writer and usually spends her time on an app called words & letters where she has a bunch of friends and also fans. That’s where she meets Dane/Ryan and has no clue that he’s her dad’s best friend. Their beginning interactions were pretty angsty and damn hilarious and I knew they were going to be perfect for each other.

Each time, it felt more than right and I didn’t see him as my dad’s best friend. He was Ryan/Dane, the man I’d slowly fallen for over the past seven months and I had no desire to ever let him go.

They started out as friends, consistently staying in touch with each other through the app. I appreciated that the author didn’t waste time writing all these letters. Fast forward seven months, Christina gets writer’s block where is unable to write the sex scenes, not getting any inspiration. Some of the lines she wrote had me laughing out loud. Here are some below:

”And then, with his eyes locked onto hers, he slipped his throbbing member into her juicy wet folds.”
“Then, with his heated gaze blazing, he slid into her vagina ever so slowly, passionately.”
“His cock impaled her all at once—like a freight train, consuming her whole…”
Shaking my head, I tried to convince myself that those lines weren’t as terrible as they sounded, but the truth stared me right in the face.
Throbbing member? Impaled like a freight train?”

When she shares her predicament with Dane, he offers to help and sends her a draft. And oh man...what he wrote was utterly filthy and dirty. She was surprised how much better he wrote and he takes the heat to another level when he attaches a sexy picture too( you guys can probably guess what it was 😉). This also leads to them planning to finally meet.

My cheeks burned as his stunning blue eyes met mine, and I realized that this was no game or coincidence.
The man I’d been talking to for almost a goddamn year was standing right in front of me. My dad’s best friend.
Ryan is Dane? Dane is Ryan? What. The. Hell?

Christina was fucking hilarious. I simply L.O.V.E.D her. I would simply love to be friends with her. When she realises that her Ryan is actually Dane, she sees him in a new light. I mean she always knew he was attractive but after talking to him all this time and especially that draft he sent, the attraction reaches another level. She runs away without telling him that she’s Bella when she realises before him who he is.

”Ahhh…” I moaned as he used his hips to pin me still.
He bit down hard on my bottom lip and sucked it between his teeth when I tried to control our kiss. Giving me a look that said, “Don’t try that again,” he slid his tongue against mine, taking full control of my mouth.
I grabbed fistfuls of his hair as he continued dominating me.

Dane doesn’t takes to long to figure that out. And when he confronts her, it was H.O.T. I never expected him to be this dirty and alpha. He was so dominant and sexy. The way he took control, it was sizzling.

There wasn’t too much drama. Only sexy and fun times. They didn’t beat around the bush and knew what they wanted. For a short novella, the development and plot was perfect. All am gonna say is give me MORE. ♥️

I'm a sucker for everything this blurb sells:
✔ the online romance
✔ the age gap
✔ the erotica novelist heroine
✔ touch of taboo with the dad's best friend trope.

Whitney G doesn't disappoint here, "Can I Come Over" delivers exactly what it promised and more: a cocky and arrogant hero, a fanciful heroine, witty and flirty banter between online friends, smoking hot sex with of forbidden romance and a HEA.
Straight to the point, this novella was hella sexy and not afraid turn into derision the genre itself. Ryan/Dane literally went there, making fun of Bella/Christina's profession.

“Bella J. Swan’ has indeed published fifty titles on amazon, although I’m not sure that I can call them “books,” per se. With the exception of "Deep Inside of Me", "His Big Cock", & "Filling Her Softly", all of the page counts are well below seventy.”

“I clicked on the ‘Look Inside’ feature for His Sexy Bride, and the book is so damn short that the free ten percent sample only gives me the table of contents.”

The necessary shortcuts to wrap this story in less than 100 pages were easy to overlook on my part, the story unfolds pretty swiftly from their building friendship online to flirty banter but still sufficiently paced to build momentum for their first meeting. That scene reenactment when the hero barges into her room? *GAH*
"Can I Come Over" was the perfect short story to curl up to. It's enrolled in #KU at the moment or available for only 99 pennies.

Fun, steamy, and forbidden—Dad's best friend

This novella was just downright cute and humorous: An online friendship turned smut writing assistant—strictly virtual until boundaries are discarded to find the man she has been corresponding with is her Dad's best friend... and she's attracted to him?

No lies... I devoured this novella. I was laughing my ass off at the fmc and mmc's correspondances and their dynamic the entire read. This however is definitely written very wattpad-y but like in a good way? Of course, every sort of taboo or forbidden kind of romance has to have some sort of drama but everything came together so perfectly at the end.

Things move pretty quickly in this book so it did lack at certain points that ultimately I wish was elaborated or explored more. Overall this was a quick and easy read I enjoyed but could also be a little cringe haha.

3.5-4 'Words & Letters' Stars!
Copy kindly provided by the author.

A quick, sweet and sexy treat from Whitney G.! If you are in the mood for a taboo novella, Whitney's newest release will do it for you. Pen pals exchanging sexy messages through an app / falling for my dad's best friend, it sure sounded good to me. I am a sucker for age-gap romance and I believe Whit did a very good job with Can I Come Over?. I really enjoyed the back and forth between Bella/Christina and Ryan/Dane and how that burning chemistry developed.

I wish we got a bit more from them but since it's a novella, I have to say it was pretty great! Definitely will read more from this new series of sexy treats from Whitney G.!

So cute!

I was craving an age-gap romance and this totally hit the spot! It was short, sweet and spicy. I actually wish it was longer. I think there was a lot of room to expand this story and I would have loved to have gotten to know Christina and Dane better. I thought the ending felt rushed because this was so short. But overall, I really liked this!

LOVE ON-LINE BETWEEN ALTER EGOS IN A FUN, SEXY, AGE-GAP ROMANCE

“It all started with a sex scene …”

What a sexy and hilarious look at an online, age-gap romance via letters -- instead of texting or talking -- all through the filter of secret identities, some smokin’ hotness, and surefire issues. When the MCs break their rules to finally meet, and the truth of their identities comes out because he is her dad’s bestie, it all blows up over the irony that they actually know each other.

There’s so much that could go wrong in the cutest way when smut romance author Christina aka “Bella” (26) seeks online help from platonic stranger Dane aka “Ryan” (42) to get past writer’s block on a sex scene. Their unconventional relationship builds from witty, snarky exchanges and comebacks that tickled my funny bone, as much as equally funny bits about Christina’s feuding divorced parents -- the (hysterically) bitter mom, and remarried dad to a younger woman who keeps popping out kids like a Pez dispenser. Eventually, their exchanges cross a line where being platonic is no longer an option.

There are all the usual clichés, like both are HAF and the inevitable face-to-face meeting that exposes their real identities. And Dane is insanely rich, the hunkiest piece of man meat around and a real catch; while struggling writer Christina is the smoke show of his dreams. [Note: she’s become a real woman since he last saw her.] Not to mention he’s kind, generous, and patient with her immaturity.

The truth is, I only loved the story best when it was just the two of them – online or in person. All the rest were random bits – characters, situations thrown in to contrive some semblance of plot or issues that really weren’t there. They exchanged letters and met. End of story. The meet-up part served no purpose other than to create temporary conflict and set up the conclusion which was a sweet, but mean, trick. The story didn’t end up being everything it started out to be. Although I loved the MCs, overall it was average. All in all, a fun, sexy, and short romance with a cute gimmick, but not memorable. Not one of my faves by this author.

My thoughts when I finished: “Well damn … so much potential” *sigh* and then I went on to read something else LOL So here’s the thing, this story is cute. The unfolding of the story was cute. But I wasn’t expecting cute. I was expecting dirty. Actually, no, I was expecting filthy . I’ve read that blurb about five times now and it just screams filthy dirty naughty good time to me. I could be wrong *shrug*

All that is to explain that while I loved the potential, I only liked the execution. For me, the book rates 3 on delivery of blurb promise (we got some dirty but zero filthy) but 5 on cuteness and barely a 2 on other stuff like conflict, conflict resolution, secondary plot points I am still trying to figure out why they were taking up space in the story … etc.

This was a fun quick read. Bella J is the pseudonym of Christina who is a smut writer. She ends up meeting someone online by the name Ryan and they exchange letters for months. Nothing ever comes of it until she requests help to write a sex scene she is stuck on, and he provides more than she bargained for. He writes the entire sex scene and sends her a dick pick lol

This leads to them wanting to meet each other finally and once they do it is a shock of their lives because Ryan is Dane who is Christina's father's best friend! The way she finds him waiting at the airport with a sign for Bella and she knows it’s HER but he is oblivious and just assumes she is there to visit her father….later putting two and two together band goes after her.

They cannot help their attraction and end up together during her trip but sadly once her father finds out it doesn't go as planned but we are misled by Whitney G and Dane wants her and will not let anyone or anything stop it and follows her back home.

There were a few issues in this book, how Christina was shocked at her father’s wealth and Dane’s? Idk it felt weird. She is 26 and her father remarried and had more kids so their relationship maybe is not what it should be but it’s still odd?

Anyways, I advise anyone reading this to not dive deep and focus on the taboo relationship haha
The novella ends with them getting married.

4 yummy stars!!!

This was a that novella!!

I really loved that this was a new take on the dad’s best friend trope and age gap trope.

Rather than having a common theme to many of the novellas/books I’ve read thus far, this one stood out due to the inception-feel you get by reading this.

The plot thickens when it becomes an erotica about an erotica. Yup. That doesn’t make sense right? Well you’ll have to read it to understand just what the heck I’m trying to say.

What I will say is that the smut on smut on top of smut, was super smutty!!

So aka—I totally enjoyed this read.

Also, that ending? Such a dirty trick my dear Whitney!!!

Amo a la autora, he dicho.

I came for the sexy times but left feeling....dissatisfied

Quickly
This was ok until they met
NO CHEMISTRY....none! Not even while they were texting because he wasn't all fired up to meet her anyways
The set up that led to their meeting was cringe worthy
All that build up, I mean she's a smut writer...he's helping her with a scene....that should lead to kindle melting sexy times dammit!
Ugh the way he proved his love....like bro what wassssss that????😂

All in all this wasn't MY cuppa

Whitney G. offers a deliciously sinful forbidden romance.

The Plot: The blurb pretty much sums up what this novella successfully delivers, a flirty and clever banter between a cocky hero (which Whitney excels at writing) and a charming heroine. They meet online, keep it platonic for several months but after Dane helps Christina with her writers block writing a very compelling sex scene they agree to meet up in person only to find out they already know each other because Dane is Christina’s father’s best friend and what follows is sizzling hot.

Even though this is a novella, the story unfolds with well developed characters whose online friendship has a great push and pull, to their first meeting and everything that comes after.

The Hero: Dane is arrogant and cocky and perfect. “His sarcasm often toed the line between brilliance and assholery.”

The Heroine: I love Christina’s smutty author pen name Bella J Swan.

The Feels: Crazy hot.

I love Whitney G. novellas! They’re perfect for curling up with and enjoy over a glass wine.

Can I Come Over is a standalone erotic romance by Whitney G.. It’s told from both points of view with a happy ending.

4.5 stars- dad’s best friend/age gap

Ah. Whitney G. I just love reading anything she writes. She makes me giggle, swoon, AND blush. I just wish it was longer.

Christina/Bella’s (26) Been emailing a friend for seven months now, Dane/Ryan (42). At first, their emails were on the aggressive/mean side, but then their email relationship evolved into one of genuine friendship. Now, Christina’s having a hard time finishing the book she’s been writing. As Bella, she asks her penpal Ryan for help in finishing/fixing her smut scenes. She needs inspiration, and Ryan gives it to her (along with a picture attachment 😅😉🔥).

Dane’s felt a connection to “Bella” for a while now. After they have a picture exchange 😅🔥, he asks to see her in person, and she agrees. But he had no idea that the woman he wants under him is none other than his best friend’s daughter 😅😬.

Their first encounter- holy f- Dane’s alphaness came out to play 🔥. I’m a sucker for aggressiveness in the sheets, especially when the H’s assertive, and Dane delivers 🥵. The way he tells her to watch as they f is so damn sexy 😅🤤. Annnnd… he has a dirty mouth (could be dirtier, but hey, I can’t complain 😉). I’m a sucker for clothes-ripping and desperate romps while people are on the other side of the wall 😅🥵 (ahem- at Christina’s dad’s event 😬). Gah. They have 🔥 chemistry!

I loved it! I just wish it was longer. The side characters were hilarious 😂, especially Christina’s mom and best friend lol.

Eh, the idea was cute but this would have been better as a full novel where all the issues could have been better explored and where we could really have felt all that angst regarding this forbiddenish plot.

It still was a steamy, quick read so if you're into those, pick it up!

I usually feel disappointed reading Whitney G books because they are always too short and they leave me needing more.
But this time I have to say I really enjoyed this novella 🤩🤩🤩
The idea behind the book is great!!
I loved the letters the main characters wrote to each other: they are so funny.
And obviously it didn’t lack in the hot department  which is always good 😏😏
Maybe the love part should have been developed a little more....
but it’s still a yes for me.

Boring. I didn’t like the sex scenes and I wish the dual POV was more equilibrated, but we get more of her thoughts than his.
She is a 26 years old woman that instead of talking to the guy she spend all night and day fucking decides to leave the hotel without telling him even though they made plans to meet again. Later, they are at her father house during a party and she is hiding from him (???) like i don’t get that shit, be a grow up and communicate
They had been talking online for seven months before meeting in person and the last time she had sex is six months ago and even though they were only friends this author has a thing for making the H the one who has a more active sex life so I wish he talked about the last time he fucked someone too, because we only hear about him going to bad first dates.
