Saoirse The rules to the game are simple: find rich men, take as much from them as possible and get out before things get messy.
That was my plan for Xavier Atwood—CEO of one of the largest media companies in North America. The man has more money than God, which should make this the most profitable set-up yet.
As long as I keep my attraction to him under control.
Easy. Right?
But sometimes controlling our desires is the most difficult game of all, and Xavier is not a man who likes to lose.
Xavier Being CEO of A-One Media has become my sole identity. I’ve lived my life with minimal distractions, working hard to leave my past behind me. But nothing hurts more than knowing that my son was left there too.
In my search for him I find myself in Nyx’s path. She’s beautiful, charismatic, feisty and may just be the key to helping me reconnect with my child—if only her very existence wasn’t a temptation to stray off course.
She’s too young… I shouldn’t want her.
Yet I can’t resist the pull I feel, even if the current might drag me under.
WOWWWW I was not expecting to love this novella as much as I did!!! Immediately diving into book 2 because that cliffhanger?! 👀🔥
She’s a dancer who preys on men’s weaknesses and steals their money... until she meets Xavier Atwood, who ends up stealing her heart instead. But after all the lies she’s told... is it too late for redemption?
✨ fast paced 🌶️ super spicy 🎭 high drama 🚨 cliffhanger that demands the next book
"A simple Game By Danielle Sarah ARC Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 "A Simple Game" by Danielle Sarah is a read that grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go until the end. The cover immediately caught my attention and as I started reading, l realized I wouldn't be able to stop. It left me with my mouth open and my heart in my hand with that shocking ending. Oh my God, I need more. I'm counting the days and months until the second book comes out so l can find out what happens next. Btw: The revenge part I loved too much.
Danielle's ability to build the tension between Xavier and Saoirse is impressive; my heart raced every time Xavier was near Saoirse. The plot twists and spicy scenes were simply excellent, and every time I read one of these scenes, ! couldn't help but squeal in delight. I am deeply grateful to Danielle for giving me the opportunity to read her book and share my review. I highly recommend "A Simple Game" to all lovers of dark, spicy, and edgy stuff, and to those who fantasize about having a Daddy who makes their legs shake. "COME FOR ME, NYX. I CAN FEEL HOW CLOSE YOU ARE, SQUEEZING MY FINGERS LIKE A GOOD LITTLE $LUT."
Damn this book. It went beyond what I was expecting and I was here for it. Saoirse had a tough life and in the last 5 years decided to rob old rich man. But everything changed when she met Xavier. No matter how hard she tried, he wasn't just a target to her. Xavier was looking for his son but found Saoirse instead. He was instantly smitten with her. He tried to resist at first but it was no use. I loved them and I just can't freaking wait for the next book
No. I’m so sorry, but this book wasn’t for me. The characters were very unlikable and I didn’t like what they were doing at all. The only reason I finished the book is because it was short. I’m a bit sad as the blurb sounded so promising..
This is the first part of the series and there are so many twists and turns. The entire time I was reading this, the suspense was killing me and I couldn’t put the book down until I finished it. Saoirse/Nyx and Xavier have amazing chemistry and their scenes are hot! There are so many secrets that we have yet to find out and I can’t wait for the next part to see what happens.

This was a fast paced, spicy novella that will leave you wanting more! I read this entire thing in one setting as it grabbed my attention from the first page. It left me with a wide open mouth at the ending and I NEED to know what happens next.
Danielle did an amazing job at building the tension between the two main characters - Xavier and Saoirse (Nyx).
Saoirse is a tricky little character, with a rough past who went from rags to riches. Xavier is your morally grey billionaire who knows what he wants and will stop at nothing to get it.
Thank you so much to Danielle and Lovenotes PR for giving me the opportunity to read this as an eARC💜
I highly recommend "A Simple Game" to all lovers of dark, spicy, and edgy stuff, especially those who are looking for a quick read.
Make sure to read trigger warnings beforehand!

ARC REVIEW ✨ I was really surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I loved Saoirse and Xavier together ; there was tension between the two from the moment they met. The plot was also very much there and you get hooked by it. I thought it was going to feel so rushed but it wasn’t honestly .
I did want more though especially the fact that it ends with a cliffhanger😭 … i will definitely read the 2nd one once it comes out. If you love a great billionaire romance ; I recommend this.
When you walk in on your mother having sex with your boyfriend, so you in turn sleep with his brother (whom you hate), and it turns into "and toxic as our relationship may be, he’s the only constant I’ve had over these last five years." A Bonnie and Clyde type relationship is formed, that produces a life of relative luxury, but then you both target the wrong man and now he is out for revenge?
But not until after a very spicy museum encounter with your lasted target, and a simple game that turned into much more. Secrets are quickly revealed, and both sides are willing to do anything to get what they want.
NO NO NO NO NO! NOT A FLIPPING CLIFFHANGER! LIKE WHHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?! **sigh** The plot was just thickening up and boom, cliffhanger. I devoured this book all the way up not gonna lie. This was a short and very spicy novella for the most part. Can we get into Daddy Xave though?! A fine piece of specimen to grace this book. Love me a silver fox okay🥵?! Seeing that this was book that touched one quite a few sensitive topics, read with caution. I appreciate a good novella that’s direct and the story isn’t drawn out and not heavily detailed. I guess I’ll wait for next year to see what book 2 entails. Next year, ain’t that something. Lord have mercy. 😭😭😭
This book is short and spicy with an exciting cliffhanger at the end leading into the next book, which immediately leaves you wanting more! What is thought to just be a ‘Simple Game’ turns into so much more in this twisty, suspenseful story.
This book centers on Saoirse a.k.a Nyx who works as a dancer; she and her pseudo boyfriend con wealthy older men and have been at this con for years. At the club, she meets Xavier. Initially, she wasn’t going to go for him as her next target but she is drawn to him and him to her. Xavier has his own motives as to why he is at the club; he is trying to connect with his son, whom he hasn’t seen in years. The story is told from multiple POV’s which adds a level of intrigue as the reader gets to see the plot lines unfold and begin to converge. Can’t wait to see what happens next!
Looking forward to continuing Xavier and Saoirse’s story to see what is in store for them. Thank you so much to Love Notes PR and Danielle Sarah for the early copy!

Thank you to Danielle Sarah for the opportunity to be an advanced reader for A Simple Game!
If you’re looking for a fast paced, tension-filled, ridiculously spicy rags to riches novella with a bit of moral ambiguity that will leave your jaw on the floor, A Simple Game by Danielle Sarah is for you! There’s a pretty good age gap in there (20 years) and the FMC is a tricksy little minx (hehe). It’s like a billionaire romance and a dark romantic suspense had a love child and it’s sooo good. Multiple POV is perfect for this story, it adds to the suspense and I’m always game for seeing more than one perspective. Saoirse and Xavier’s relationship is extremely lusty and happens so quickly that the cliffhanger really got me! I was gaping at the ending. Can’t wait for the next one!
GAH!!! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time! I need the next! Honestly, I thank this book and this author for such a captivating, sexy, thrilling story! I have been headed towards the edge of a book slump and Ms. Danielle Sarah yanked me right back up!
This was a fast paced, fast burn book with high stakes, thrill, spicy and book two is shortly on the way! Eek!
So I picked this up when I signed up for the ARC of book 2—A Simple Lie. This is part of a series and must be read in order to understand what's going on.
Even though this was a novella, I'm surprised by how well the plot was set and also the air of mystery surrounding the entire book. It all starts with Saoirse walking in on her boyfriend cheating on her, which leads to her hooking up with his stepbrother to get even. Over time, the two slowly strike a deal of sorts to work together to con rich men. Given her situation, she doesn't feel too bad about taking what she can from the rich, especially when they deserve it.
However, things change when their latest target—Xavier Atwood—walks into the strip club Saoirse works at. She tries her best to keep herself detached from the situation and treats Xavier as just a target but finds herself questioning everything when it comes to him.
Xavier Atwood has made a lot of mistakes and has worked overtime to turn his life around. His only regret now is his barely-there relationship with his son, whom he hasn't seen in a decade. This is how he seeks out Saoirse, as he thinks that she might have some connection to his son. But what starts off as a way for him to get to his son through Saoirse quickly turns into him feeling an undeniable pull towards her that he can't seem to ignore against his better judgment.
There were a lot of conflicting thoughts Saoirse had throughout the book as her feelings for Xavier got more complicated the longer she spent time with him. She did do what she needed to, but for the first time, she started questioning her actions because of Xavier and how he made her feel. Xavier also has his own secrets that he's kept from Saoirse, which I think we'll be getting into in future books, and I'm eager to find out more.
The spice was spicing so well, and the chemistry between these two was off the charts right from the moment they laid eyes on each other.
The plot kept building as the story progressed, and there's so much going on in the background that neither Xavier nor Saoirse is aware of, and I'm really looking forward to seeing how this all plays out. The book ends on a cliffhanger, and boyyyy, what a cliffhanger it was that I jumped right into the next book the next second.
What was one thing that kept bugging me, though, was
🤭“Is that what you want to hear? That your daddy’s good little whore? Earn that title and come all over my hand and put me out of my misery. I need to f*ck you, but not until I’ve watched you unravel.”🤭
🥵“Eyes open, hurricane. I want you to watch us. You should see just how angelic you look when you’re coming for me.”🥵
This book was a short and SPICY novella! I was extremely interested in the characters from the start! Xaddy definitely has a way with words🤭🥵 the ending had me needing more! And questions I have so many questions😅✨
Thank you @lovenotes.pr and @daniellesarahwrites for allowing me the opportunity to read this ARC!🥰✨

This book has you up against a wall wondering what the hell just happened before you can even blink.
The sexual tension between Saoirse and Xavier is 🔥and only ramps up the more they have of each other. Their insta-lust connection is wrapped up the dark suspense of a revenge story line that goes much deeper than we’re first led to believe.
Did this grab me right from the go? Absolutely.
Am I (im)patiently waiting for Novella 2? 100% (it’s out in January).
I absolutely wish this had been a little longer and with the knowledge that the second book is also a novella, this series really appears to be more of a serial versus a series which makes this a 3 star read for me personally. Why then, you ask yourself, do you see 4 stars for my review? Because the reasons why it's a 3 are personal. I am not a fan of serial reads - I am way too impatient and the ending on massive cliff hangers that is usual for these types of stories causes me too much anxiety. Having said that, Author Sarah did that extremely well and left me wanting more of the story immediately - both for the mystery aspects and the 🔥. If that is your jam and the tropes are up your alley? You better mark September 26th down because you're going to want to read this as soon as you can.

In this first novella, telling Saoirse and Xavier’s story, readers get quite a bit of background on the main characters, although there are quite a few questions still to be answered—I imagine in the next novella.
I enjoyed this shorter story, but I need the next book now! Even though I was annoyed with how Saoirse treated her male victims, I did understand her need to get ahead after her poor upbringing and betrayal by those who were supposed to be there for her.
There’s a lot more to Xavier than meets the eye. He didn’t climb the corporate ladder without learning a trick or two. He’s a very interesting character, and I liked his character buildup.
Two suspense elements are explored simultaneously—1) Xavier’s estranged son and what will happen to him. And 2) The con Saoirse plays on Xavier and how things will eventuate. Both are intriguing, and I look forward to reading the next novella to learn more details.
A Simple Game, the first novella in the A Simple Game series by Danielle Sarah, will hook you right from the start. Be warned: this book ends on a cliffhanger, and you'll definitely want to dive straight into the sequel, A Simple Lie.
This novella introduces us to the turbulent beginning of Saoirse and Xavier’s story. Saoirse is an exotic dancer who’s had a rough upbringing—her mother is a drug addict who shows little concern for her, and her father, an abusive alcoholic, has been out of the picture for years. On the night of her twenty-first birthday, Saoirse walks in on her mother in a compromising situation. That moment is the final straw, and she cuts ties with her family, turning instead to the town bad boy, Gage, for support.
Saoirse and Gage have a dangerous game: conning wealthy older men out of their money. Their next target is Xavier—a man with a complicated past of his own. Xavier is trying to reconnect with his estranged son, Harrison, and isn’t expecting to cross paths with someone like Saoirse. From their first encounter, the chemistry between them is intense, and the romance quickly turns spicy.
If you're into age-gap romance with a strong dose of daddy kink, this novella will definitely appeal to you. However, it's important to note that the book contains several trigger warnings, including drug abuse, cheating, and public intimate scenes—so make sure to check those before reading.
This book was a solid 4-star read for me! It’s a dark romance with Daddy vibes, featuring both a strong male and female lead. One quote from Saoirse, the female lead, perfectly sums up the vibe: “Romance. The dirtier, the better.” 🔥 You know exactly where this story is headed from that moment on!
The age gap—45-year-old Xavier and 25-year-old Saoirse—was really well done. I loved how it added tension to their dynamic, making their relationship feel forbidden yet irresistibly tempting. The multi-POV format, featuring Saoirse, Xavier, and his estranged son Harrison, gives you a deep dive into each character's mindset, and it worked so well for the story.
I was really hooked by the suspense element, especially around Xavier’s mission to find his son and Saoirse’s mysterious involvement. The twists kept me on edge the entire time, and the ending left me with so many questions! Will Xavier find his son? What will happen to Saoirse? You’re left wondering about all the possibilities.
The dark romance aspect is intense, and the spice doesn’t disappoint. If you're into billionaire romances with a side of secrets, revenge, and a morally grey FMC who isn’t afraid to play dirty, this is the book for you.
Overall, A Simple Game is a sexy, suspenseful, and addictive read that’s perfect for fans of dark romance.

5 ⭐ 4🌶️ Fast, spicy, and dangerously addictive. A novella that proves a simple game can lead to anything but simple emotions.
Okay, wow. I went into this one expecting a quick, spicy read — and ended up completely sucked into the danger, tension, and emotional layers tucked between the pages.
A Simple Game is one of those novellas that pulls you in fast and keeps you flipping pages like you’re playing your own risky little game right alongside the characters. I devoured it in one sitting.
Saoirse (aka Nyx) is the kind of heroine I love — smart, confident, and a little morally gray. She plays by her own rules, and watching her go toe-to-toe with Xavier (CEO, powerful, brooding, and carrying a whole lot of pain under that sharp suit) kept me on my toes. Their chemistry? Off the charts. It’s high stakes energy with a side of danger and emotional damage.
Even though it’s a shorter story, Danielle Sarah manages to give it real depth — a mix of seduction, guilt, and unexpected heart that hits just right. And when the twists start unraveling… yeah, even though I saw it coming, I still wasn't prepared. I’ll definitely be finishing the rest of the series soon.
