The fight with the Oracion Six comes to a close in this volume. Then we kind of go off kilter as most manga's and anime do to setup what's next.

Alright, slightly over one-third of the way through the series! Fairy Tail and Edens Zero aren't too far off!

SIEG AS AN ALLY HOLY FUUUUUUUUU-

After all the Big Things happening, the volume ends with some lighter, comedic episodes. First, the weird hermit Alice and his mystery elixirs. Then, a village full of Nakajima's people.

I guess that's it for the Symphonia Arc? Arcs in this manga seem pretty short overall, I guess. The stuff with the Doryu Ghost Attack Squad must have been just a minor diversion to a) show Let as an ally and b) have Ruby join the team. Otherwise the Main Ideas were 1) the arrival of Lucia, 2) the arrival of the remaining Oracion Six, 3) the interference of Sieg, 4) the minor restoration of Elie's memories (including knowledge of Kaim). And I guess 5) Lucia joining the Oracion Six to fill his late father's position. So... I guess actually a lot of things happened in these couple volumes. According to the fan Wiki, the chapter with Saga's prophecy is part of the next arc, but I'd disagree, except that it's set outside Symphonia so idk. Anyway, we're moving south to get the next bit of Rave!

****

Reina on the cover of Chapter 89...! We're getting closer to the rampant sexiness of Mashima's later work!!

"I've peeked on her in the bath... Peeked on her changing clothes... I've even stolen her panties. Elie's such a good friend!!"

Haru and Musica making the face at Let, then Let doing it back, then all three men turning to face Elie 🤣

"Daddy got a new job as a beetle." 🤣

I guess Lucia is sixteen to parallel Haru in reference to their respective fathers. But... he looks too old.

I sometimes get Jegan and Sieg confused, so when Sieg appeared in the battle I was like "What's Jegan doing...?"

Plenty of unexpected action, minor but fun twists, two chapter filler in the end, and an over-reliance on the 'Etheralion' makes this a pretty average but ongoing Volume in the series.

On to more..

Hiro Mashima, Rave Master, Vol. 12 (Tokyopop, 2001)

The culmination of the battle with the Oracion Six (okay, five) is upon us, and with it, the appearance of an old enemy. Once all that's dispensed with, the crew head for a city of fortune tellers to figure out which Rave stone to pursue next-- but when they get there, Haru finds himself having flashbacks to Garage Island, and they're sent on a quest to recover poi. Poi? Yes, poi. The weirdness continues! ****

DC Reborn

We had a lot going on this volume. Our heroes were soundly defeated, old enemies resurface and align with new enemies. We also got to dab into Elie's past and markings.

I rarely read graphic novels and found that this one was quite interesting. oddly enough I started the series on this one and plan to go back and read from the beginning. I would recommend this book to people like action and adventure.
