one of my new favouriteeeee books!!!!! i have been interested in psychology for a while, and i have been wanting to read a book about it. This is exactly book i was looking for. The explanations are so clear and easy to understand, while still using key terminology. The layout is easy to use and understand. The tone was conversational, feeling more like a friend explaining the subject before a test than a textbook. The images are add so much to the explanation and helped me completely understand the text above it on a whole other level. They also highlighted the contrast between the two topics, aiding to understand the difference between the two very well. Another thing i liked about this book which may sound a bit unimportant was that it was written by a British author. The book uses statistics and quantitative data(term explained in the book😉) from the UK which helped me picture the information a lot better. It also used British linguistics which made it relatable and made analogies more memorable and meaningful. When i walked into urban outfitters, i was planning on securing a copy of “The Secret History” by Donna Tartt. I am glad that it wasn’t available in the store, as i enjoyed this book sooo much. (This opinion may change once i finally get my hands on TSH, but until then, i am glad I picked this book up)

This is a very good book to read if you are vaguely interested in the study of mind and behaviour, or if you are considering working in the field of or a field related to psychology. This is also a good book to understand your decisions, mind, feelings, and emotions. (Yes there is a difference between feelings and emotions - all superbly explained in this book😉😉)

Highly recommend!

I liked this book. The explanations were clear and the tone was conversational. I also enjoyed the basic structure of pairing words. The illustrations are cute and frequently helped contrast the differences between the paired words. I did find the writing somewhat uninspired and I wasn’t always sure about the word pairings. I do think however that this book is a good introduction to psychology and is a good starting point for further exploration. Thank you to Edelweiss and Ivy Press for the advance reader copy.
