A MESMERIZING AND TWISTED TALE!!!
TICK, TICK, TICK. Clocks that beat like a pulse through the day are like metronomes underscoring, perhaps directing, the rhythms of our lives. When you can't shut the sound out of your mind, it can be annoying. On an office wall, it can be distracting. Or far worse. It's a good thing digital clocks are silent. "Tick" is another psychological twistful thriller of a tale by Jerry McKinney, an author whose imagination knows only leaps, no bounds, and whose talent for storytelling -- as well as writing prowess -- keeps me and other fans lining up with hungry eyes for more. This is the story of Colin. He has lost his wife, is having nightmares and has developed a clock phobia. Slowly over the course of the story his life unravels to the point where he can no longer continue.
This was slightly longer than some of Jerry's stories I have read and it made for a nice change. I felt I really got to know Colin through the course of the story and his slow but sure mental decline. The story was quite sad in a way, but as is usual with Jerry's stories there was a twist. Once that twist was revealed, my feelings changed somewhat! The ending was quite sudden and unexpected, but was brilliant in its shock value.

Tick, tick, tick. I can relate to poor Colin as he has a major meltdown listening to the clocks pass the time away around him. Growing up with a father who collected clocks, many times I just wanted the clocks to all stop so the sound would just go away as the peristent ticking filled the house with their unending noise. Colin has many issues in his life and this relentless noise seems to be the piece that connects everything in his world. He just cannot seem to get his life together as with every turn something else comes hammering at him. Another great piece by Jerry.

Very creepy little tale. What's really weird is how I never noticed my living room clock, until now.
Colin is tired. Can't sleep, can't get along with the boss and missing his dead wife. Nothing is going right for Colin and now the clock won't stop ticking....anywhere.
Another intriguing read from a master story teller.

This is a wonderful horror suspense book. Poor Colin, he has a lot going on in his mind, between missing his wife and not liking his job he can't get the tick of the office clock out of his head. This causes his to do some very extreme things.
Once again Jerry McKinney takes you straight into his world of words where you are held in awe until the book is finished.
