This was a fantastic little book and one that’s chock full of interesting tidbits of information. It will certainly give you a whole new appreciation for plants!

It’s a massively overlooked aspect of our lives and they do so much for us. This book (or audiobook in my case - fantastically narrated) is great for kids and also their adults wanting to know more about just how amazing plants can be. Plants in medicine, plants as food, plants as generators for our planet: don a cape and they’d be super ultra protectors of earth! Superman who? (/insert your favourite superhero of preference).

My favourite bit was hearing Chris say ‘fun fact!’ because they were always followed by a great and insightful bit of knowledge.

It’s also got a handy little glossary at the back to expand a burgeoning botanists vocabulary. I can imagine the illustrations are fab too and it’s a perfect book for a young naturalists shelf.

Thank you to the author and publisher for this audiobook on NetGalley in return for my honest thoughts and review.

This children's nonfiction book about plants is an engaging and colorful introduction to the world of botany for young readers. The illustrations are vibrant and captivating, making the learning experience both fun and visually stimulating. The author does a fantastic job of breaking down information about plants into simple, easy-to-understand concepts, ensuring that kids remain interested and curious throughout the book. However, the book could have benefited from a bit more detail in certain sections. While the basics are well-covered, older children or those with a keen interest in plants might find themselves wanting more in-depth explanations and additional facts. Including more detailed information about plant biology, growth processes, and the different types of plants would have added greater value to the book. Despite this, the book serves as an excellent starting point for young readers to develop an appreciation for plants and nature. It's a great addition to any child's library and can spark a lifelong interest in the natural world.

Thank you so much to the author and Netgalley for providing me with an audio arc in return for an honest review.

This is a great little book for children at the top end of Junior school (10yo). It would be great on a car journey as there's a lot to talk about. It's split into ten parts, so you could easily pause after each part to talk about the points raised. It only lasts 34 minutes, but there's a lot packed in there.

It's not patronising in any way and introduces children to a part of their world that may be unfamiliar to them. I'd definitely look for more in this series of books.

This is a really great stater book for grade school children wanting to know more about plants. Chris seems very passionate about his field and it radiates through this book with really cool facts

I often think about how I can reduce my impact on earth but the depressing fact is that majority of pollution is created by big company’s and it’s not something a little child can fix. This gave me a great deal of anxiety as a child. I feel like there is room to teach children about being advocates beyond their own life but also holding governing councils accountable.
