Don't let the dusty cover and publication date of 40 years ago fool you - this book is a great addition to your DIY library. If you plan to build your own shelving or cabinetry, then this book is a great starting point, as it breaks everything down for you - selecting materials (lumber and hardware), tools and how to use them, basic design principles and procedures, and several step-by-step projects. Many of the projects can easily be completed in a weekend by a novice, but some of these are more ambitious and require more advanced techniques, more experience, and above all, patience to see them through without getting frustrated.
