Lewis tattoos himself on my brain instantly. Too bad this whole situation is about to get messier than spilled ink.

Lewis

Clingy, needy, Too Much

Just a few choice words from men who never deserved me anyway.

I'm not going to make the same mistakes again though. I plan to ride the motorcycle hottie of my dreams just until we both get bored.

Besides, who has time for anything but a quick fling when the jerks at the tattoo shop next door insist on doing everything they can to annoy the hell out of me with some stupid prank war?

Arrow

Possessive, intense, too much

My exes weren't wrong about me. I have a habit of falling too hard for men who never feel the same.

Meeting Lewis in a rainstorm, steaming up his backseat during a flash downpour… maybe this is my sign to try something casual for a change…

And then there's the prank war between my motorcycle club and our new neighbor. Whatever the twink did to get on Jag's bad side, the whole thing sounds a lot less appealing than losing myself in MY pretty twink with a cute butt and big, blue eyes who insists this isn't anything real.

Is he right? Is this thing between us nothing more than a Flash tattoo that time will fade? There's only one way to find out…

If you're looking for a superficial light but hot story and have an appetite for a biker silver fox and a nerdy twink, then this is the book for you.
This was definitely a nice story even if I'm not a fan of the plot. But as the start of a new series, it was a good way to introduce the many interesting characters without going into too much detail. My appetite has been whetted, there are a few characters who seem very interesting.
For this story about the non-relationship between Lewis and Arrow, there is definitely a nice chemistry between them and they are perfect for each other even though they don't know it, even deny it. It's a nice touch, but only if you like a lot of sex scenes in your stories. The book lucked out for me this weekend, normally I like a bit more content. But as always, perfectly written in the author's style and deliciously hot ...

“Does it bother you that this is only our first date and all I can think about is finding a million ways to make sure everyone knows you’re mine?”
Heat floods me, making my toes curl and my cock seize with a trembling pleasure that has just as much to do with his possessive words as it does the way he’s stroking his fingers over my prostate with fluttering taps that have my eyes rolling back in my head. “No,” I answer breathlessly. “I want it.”

So much fun!!!

I absolutely loved how Arrow and Lewis had ZERO chill when it comes to relationships, but they try so hard not to let on to the other that they basically hear wedding bells before they even have a first date 😂😂 The way the whole moving in conversation went made me laugh so much.

I could not stop smiling throughout this book and it had all of the antics you expect from Kyleen's characters. Jag is an absolute menace and although he was so entertaining, I would HATE if he did that to me 😂 I loved Lewis's names for his plants though and now I'm feeling inspired for my own!

When I realised who Lewis was.... I think I'd have died from awkwardness if I was in his position of having to then meet Henry as his brother's boyfriend!!!! OTT as always, but so enjoyable to read and I cannot wait for more from the Ink Slingers.

« I’m definitely falling for Arrow, now I just have to hope he’s going to be there to catch me. »

This was a breezy, easy peasy, super smutty, fun time. The relationship was sweet, the spice hot, the plot entertaining and light. Special? Not really, but I also don’t have any complaints.

Fuck, why is Arrow so goddamn cute? Motorcycle riding badasses are not supposed to be this sweet.

I loved how sweet they were, how they were both falling hard but not trying to show it. The prank war was actually funnier than I thought it would be, and I’m curious about the rest of the Ink Slingers crew.

I love KM Neuhold’s writing style, and look forward to seeing more of this series.

✨ARC REVIEW✨
As with all KM Neuhold books, I got a fun, sweet, smexy love story. It was funny how both MCs fought against their nature, both going against all their desires of building a relationship, trying to keep it casual. Arrows possessive thoughts live rent free and red flag free in my mind for ever. Lewis, with his trust issues and his funny names for his plants, has nothing to do against the charming silver fox biker. The pranks were hilarious and how they failed was even more so. Totally recommended for a light fun read without much angst or relationship drama.

„A lifetime of chasing the wrong men, working too hard for people who didn’t want it, giving away my heart just to have it tossed back in my face again and again… it was all worth it. Every single stupid thing led me right here to this moment with Lewis.“

This was my first K.M.Neuhold book and I’m so positively surprised! Because this book absolutely got me!! I loved the story, I loved the characters, I loved the writing and the humor.

Lewis and Arrow both have my heart for the first moment. I enjoyed their dynamic and how both struggled and pushed themselves out of their comfort zone. I just wished they would have talked sooner and avoided the coming up mess what they got, but the whole story was endearing and I couldn’t put the book away and stop reading. I also have to say I adored the sex scenes, yes they were kind of hot and spicy but they also were full of emotions and tenderness. You could really feel their connection in their and how much they longed for each other. It was truly beautifully written.

“Those are cliché, they have no personality at all. I could call anyone ‘baby,’ but only my man is my little tater tot.”

Arrow and Lewis were super cute and funny and I loved the prank wars between the ink slingers and the flower shop! Low angst, feel good book 🤙

This was sweet, tender and waaaaay more spicy than I expected (not that I’m complaining)💯

I picked it up while looking for something quick, dirty and familiar and it hit all the right spots. The story is low-angst, the characters are engaging and Arrow’s silver fox vibe was fucking delicious🥵 To top it off, Tim Paige and Liam DiCosimo did an excellent job with the narration.

Looking forward to trying my hand at a few other entries in the series.

Look at the man on the cover of this book. Can you imagine calling him Jason? No. Me neither, yet here we are 🤣 Actually, his name is Arrow for most of the book, but for some reason, Neuhold has him use his real name when he and Lewis take things to the next level. It's one of those things that happens that I usually don't think about it, but it felt so out of place when it happened I had to laugh. After that, Lewis still refers to him as Arrow, but then throws out Jason occasionally. What was the point of the whole Jason thing? And seriously, JASON of all names? 💀 I'm not sure why I'm even pointing this out, but it was so odd to me that I'm still thinking about it more than anything else that happened in this whole lot of nothing book 🙃

Was the book bad? No. Was it great? No. It was fine, exactly what I expected from a KM Neuhold novel. A light, low-angst, superficial storyline that fills a gap when you don't want anything too heavy. It's something to read that sounds good on the box, but is never quite as satisfying as promised, and not something I'll remember. Except for Jason. I'll probably remember that 😑 With the exception of Meet Me There (which I adored), most of Neuhold's books hover around 3* for me. That being said, I still come back for more eventually, so something must work well enough 😂

Solid opening to this spin-off series

3.5*

Like all of this author's books, there's a lot of sexy times and a fair bit of humour.

Couple that with the strong found family and small town community vibes and they're always an easy read.

This one is no exception, although it could have done with perhaps a few less sex scenes and a couple more "getting to know you" ones which would have strengthened the immediate spark between Arrow and Lewis.

Still, it's a good opening for the new tattoo shop setting.

4.5 This is some peak K. M. Neuhold.
Perfect balance of fun, heat and shenanigans.
Lewis and Arrow are overflowing with chemistry, and the Ink Slingers crew brings the same kind of hectic energy as the Four Bears and Big Bull Mechanics that i simply adore.
Can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Jason "Arrow" and Lewis

This is a cute, funny, sexy, we-didn't-even-know-we-were enemies-to-lovers romance with plenty of spice, and a happy ending.

For me, it was absolutely unbelievable that two men wouldn't have immediately or subsequently talked about what they did for a living, and wouldn't have brought it up multiple times either as part of a conversation or a brag. Both Arrow and Lewis own businesses they're very proud of and even though there are quite a few times naturally where they could have talked about it the running gag of the story is it somehow never comes up until they're head over heels for each other, and I just found myself having to suspend more and more disbelief, especially because for both men their careers are such important parts of their lives, but eventually I got on board with the gag and just enjoyed the ride.

It's a quick, fun read with a great new cast. I am definitely picking up the next book in the series when it's released.

2/5⭐

70s Porn with zero believable plot or characters. But it wasn't totally awful, so 2 ⭐ it is.

Also I feel like the author is trying to milk the hell of of their original series but setting this series (3rd one) in the same town as Caulky. With of course some insane ridiculousness from Stone.

"Arrow" and Lewis meet in the rain, one afternoon when Lewis’ car breaks down in the middle of nowhere...in a thunderstorm

Lewis doesn't want to call for a tow truck or a friend, as he doesn't want to explain that he was watching porn in the mechanic’s shop. That's something he would never live down. Then when a sexy "silver fox" on a Harley stops to help, Lewis thinks his luck might be changing. Arrow gives Lewis a ride back to his apartment and not wanting to lose track for the cute guy, Arrow leaves him his number. Of course, Lewis is too embarrassed by how "needy" he thought he came across ...he just can't take the chance...so he can't bring himself to call him.

A month goes by, and Lewis is opening his new business...a flower shop that is next door, with only a wall separating him from "Heathen's Ink", the tattoo parlor. Lewis is easy to get along with as a rule, but the blasting music coming from the tattoo shop is so loud, the walls are shaking...and it's the same sound-track, over and over again. This gets Lewis and his neighbors off on the wrong foot, which leads to an all-out, hilarious, prank war that Lewis is determined to win.

Aarow knows nothing about Lewis being the owner of the flower shop and Lewis doesn't know that Arrow is in anyway connected with Ink Slingers. Lewis and Aarow keep going out together getting closer and closer. Lewis has been told enough times by of his exes that he is too clingy and needy, so this time he is determined to play it casual and not drive Aarow off. Arrow is a relationship kind of guy, and he knows that he falls too hard and too quick...so he's not going to push. He and Lewis keep meeting up, going out and falling more and more in love. They are both thrilled with how things are working out...still neither knowing about the others' presence at their workplaces.

This series takes place in a shared world with K.M. Neuhold’s "Four Bears Construction" and "Big Bull Mechanics" series, but neither series needs to read before this one. The guys all belong to this low-key motorcycle club...but the club is mostly background filler...it does several charities and other good deeds...all likeable guys that just like to ride. I just wanted to clarify in case a future reader was expecting a dark motorcycle club book with morally gray characters, as is often in that genre.

I really like what this author has created...not just in this series but her many others. Overall: it had minimal angst, plenty of spice, and lots and lots of humor.

Flash is the first book in K.M. Neuhold's Ink Slingers series. Although this series is a spinoff of her Big Bull Mechanics series, you don't need to have read that to enjoy this book. Here's what you can expect from Arrow and Lewis:

💛 MM contemporary romance
💛 First person dual point of view
💛 Guaranteed happily ever after
💛 Low angst
💛 Silver fox bixer
💛 Snarky twink
💛 Insta-lust
💛 Possessive and needy main characters
💛 A prank war and the most wholesome bike club
At least if he murders me, I’ll die doing what I love: drooling over a man who’s clearly nothing but trouble.

I've really been looking forward to this series ever since we briefly met Arrow in Rear Ended, and let me tell you, it didn't disappoint! This book was funny, steamy, and perfectly swoony. It's a great low angst read which is perfect for avoiding a dreaded book slump or lightening up your TBR a bit.

Needy characters can be over-the-top sometimes, but the way this book was written balanced Arrow's possessiveness with Lewis's neediness quite well. It made them perfect for one another, and I loved when they just embraced those traits in themselves and gave in. Watching them try to keep things casual was almost comical. It was also a great introduction to the guys at Ink Slingers, and I'm very much looking forward to Virgin Skin to get to know them even better. With a lot of Neuhold's recent work, this is relatively low angst and had it's funny moments. But can we talk about the spice between Arrow and Lewis? Arrow was so possessive and growly, it was incredible. This book was just a lot of fun, and a relatively easy read. I can't wait to see cameos of Lewis and Arrow in the upcoming books in the series! Also obsessed with Arrow's nickname for Lewis, Tater Tot, and how it stuck with all the guys.
“Every word, every moan, every breathless fucking gasp you gave me are mine. I told you I don’t like to share, and I’m not just talking about your body. I don’t want to share any-fucking-thing you’ve given me.”

This was a nice, light read. While some of it worked for me (the relationship dynamic, the relationship progression in the second half of the book), some of it was a bit less successful. Any time a new series starts, there is a tsunami of new names and people to remember. I think KM Neuhold did a decent job of introducing a lot of people over the course of the book, as well as having cameos from some other series.

There is a lot of sex in the first third of the book. It wasn't surprising, since the blurb pretty clearly explains the setup for the book, but I wish there was just a little bit less. By the time I made it to page 96, I went back and counted and 25% of the pages of the book were sex scenes. That is going to entice plenty of readers (which is why I'm including it in my review!) but I would prefer to see more than just extended scenes introducing side characters followed by hookups to draw me in at the start. However, once you get through the initial hookups, the story becomes much more about a growing relationship and is perfectly enjoyable.

My second challenge with the sex was the writing. Everyone is different, but some of the descriptions and terms used just didn't work for me. "His cock starts to pulse against mine, hot bursts of his cum slicking his fist as he continues to stroke us both, covering my shaft in every sticky rope of it that I’ve earned." Some of the other writing feels very millennial ("my favorite chaos gremlin") and over the top (same as a lot of other Neuhold) which will also either work for you or not. I didn’t mind it. Altogether, this is a very solid 3-star read.

Thank you to the author for the ARC copy for my honest review.

“I’m needy,” he whispers against my lips, convulsing and moaning again as I match his pace and start to stroke him.

“I like needy,” I rumble, my words sounding more like a growl than coherent speech as I kiss along the smooth edge of his jaw with little nips. “I also like pretty twinks with big blue eyes and cherry flavored lips.”

Sweet and hot! I loved how gentle Lewis and Arrow were with each other and while I rolled my eyes a bit at the absolute lack of communication re: their jobs it was funny how long it went on for. The pranks were silly but each side managed to benefit from them as a nice twist. Overall very easy read when you want something simple and spicy.

This sweet and low angst story full of pranks and fun plant names was exactly the perfect start of a new series. I felt both Arrow and Lewis real in their own struggles. The neediness and the possession were portrayed so good that I could totally relate.
I loved the cameos and how we were introduced to this new chosen family. Can't wait to read the next one, and maybe a bonus story about Lewis getting his first tattoo.

Flash by K.M. Neuhold

💙 Florist x Tattooist
💙 Feisty Twink x Sweet Biker
💙 Hookups to Lovers
💙 Size Difference
💙 Neighbouring Businesses
💙 Prank War
💙 Found Family
💙 Big Bull Spin-off

This story was the epitome of a cute, quick, low angst read. Arrow (Jay) is known for being obsessive, possessive and 'too much' in relationships. He finds it hard to be casual and is yet to find someone who embraces his intensity. Lewis is needy and clingy. His previous relationships have failed because of this and left him with trust issues. Though the two men are perfect for each other it takes a flash storm, casual hookups and a prank war for them to get to their happily ever after.

I've been looking forward to Jay's story since meeting him in his brother's book (Rear Ended). I was excited to see that Flash is the beginning of a new series and hope that we will be getting books for all of the Ink Slinger guys.

The only issue I had with this story is that I would have liked to have seen more of a connection built between the two mc's, as it felt like everything moved very fast. The story would have benefitted from being a little more fleshed out, especially in the second half where the book ended quite quickly.

Overall I really enjoyed Jay and Lewis's story, it delivered the low angst, easy to read, sweet and funny formula that I've come to associate with K.M. Neuhold's books. I'm really looking forward to the next book in the series and hope that we might see Jag or Rowan as MCs!🤞🏻

Overall: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
Humour: 🤭🤭🤭
Intimacy: 🫂🫂🫂.5
Angst: 🥺🥺

First person dual pov 👀

CW: panic attack, violence, physical assault, mention of jail stays in youth for drunken brawls, domestic assault of a side character, mention of self-harm scars (not on either MC), homophobic protestors.

"All my past mistakes are unpracticed, shaky line tattoos etched into my past, but Lewis is the cover-up. He doesn't erase what was there, but the scars underneath don't matter so much anymore."

Ahhh the beauty of two stage five clingers falling in love. It was actually pretty funny. Both Lewis and Arrow were terrified of the other finding out about their cling-on personalities, having no idea that the other was exactly the same way. They suited each other extremely well, it just took a bit for them to finally feel able to show their true colors. Once they realized how well their red flags matched, they moved full speed ahead and both of them were deliriously happy about it all.

"I always end up more invested than the other person. I push too hard and make things fucking weird eventually."

I enjoyed getting to know the guys at Ink Slingers. Jag's story is DEFINITELY going to be begged for by many. He reminds me of Riggs, except batshit cray on top of being an intimidating twink. I have a feeling miss Neuhold may make us wait on him for last like she did with Riggs as well. I also liked Rowan, Lewis's bestie. I'm hoping the big ginger teddy bear snags a tattoo artist of his own.

There's few things I love more than a book universe, and Flash is a wonderful addition to the Neuhold EU. The delighted squeal I let out when it was revealed that Lewis was the customer who inadvertently left his phone connected to the Bluetooth in the 4th book was so loud. AND THEN to re-discover that Henry is Arrow's brother?! This series is basically a backdoor pilot from book 4 of Big Bull and I AM HERE FOR IT!!

Lewis and Arrow have both been burned by relationships in the past, so they're both a little hesitant to put their hearts on the line again, but fortunately they're not hesitant to get naked with each other! Is there anything better than a Slow Burn Love/Instalust story? (the correct answer is: No, there isn't!)

This installment introduced a delightful band of tattoo artists with big hearts that I can't wait to read more about as the series progresses. It also provided some fun cameos from the Big Bull and Four Bears crews that had me smiling. If you're looking for a fun, light read with minimal angst, this is a great choice.

Tattoo Artist and Flower Shop Owner perfection! This book was a 3.75ish but I am rounding up. I adored Lewis and Arrow. I loved that their whole vibe was both of them felt like they were always "too much" in relationship so they elect to be casual meanwhile both of them in their heads want to be super NOT casual. Lewis' trust issues were so warranted I felt for him so much when he had thought he was the butt of a joke. Arrow's reassurances were sweet, and the way he made Lewis feel special was so wholesome. I wish there had just been a little more *more*??? I wanted them to talk a little more about why they always felt like they were too much in relationships but overall this was fun and I can't wait to continue this series! Jag/Rowan anyone????

also i slid in to the authors dm's to ask about the characters ages - Lewis is 35 and Arrow is 48 lol for anyone curious!

Lewis has been told previously that he’s too much and way too needy, meanwhile Arrow has been told he’s too intense and possessive by former partners. So, after a couple hot hookups, these two nincompoops try to do the casual thing *snorts*

Lewis and Arrow have literally no chill and fail spectacularly at being casual with each other, and I loved them for it. Their story was just as silly and fun as I was expecting it to be, and prank had me rolling! Can’t wait for more of this series

i read this in one sitting and it almost felt like a short book which is always a good thing because it means that i was completely captured.
i also liked all the cameos, even though i couldn’t remember shit about the characters. but that’s on me and my squirrel brain.

there is a little but, i just wish we would’ve seen more of their “crazy” possessiveness/neediness. but i get admit that for a contemporary romance you can’t get too crazy. it’s just something i personally like.

i read an arc and this is my honest opinion

This was delightful. One guy afraid of being too needy and one afraid of being too possessive. A match made in heaven, right? Well, not when it’s two knuckleheads trying to be everything they’re not.

I loved the sassiness of Lewis. His little plant puns were adorable and his neediness was perfectly done. Arrow was just the right amount of biker/tattoo artist with all the bravado and this beautiful layer of vulnerability underneath. The chemistry they had together was through the roof and super sexy

Another strong start to what looks like an awesome series. I’m so excited to see how the rest of the stories shape up.

Twink Lewis is driving home on a rural highway when his car dies. After calling for a tow he waits, only to have a hot biker daddy stop to help. Arrow is tall, grey bearded, tattooed, and everything Lewis likes in a man. After a few minutes of awkward crushing, the two of them wind up in Lewis' car because it's raining hard. Then they have sex.

The two part ways, and a month later meet up at Woolsey's Bar by chance, and after a few minutes chat, they sneak into the bar manager's office and have sex again. Then they agree to meet up again and have more sex, casually. Only both of them are really liking each other, and they're really getting into their own heads as they have sex, thinking about it.

Interspersed with their ... lengthy interludes, unknown to each other, the two work next door to each other. Lewis has just relocated his flower shop next door to Arrow's tattoo shop. A "prank war" escalates between Lewis and one of the twinky bikers (Jasper) after the two have a disagreement over Jasper's loud and repeated playing of the Barbie soundtrack.... a battle that very predictably crashes when Lewis and Arrow (who wasn't involved with the pranks at all) realize they were work neighbors all the time.

This is the first in a new series loosely connected to the author's Four Bears and Big Bull Mechanics... with some cameos from those characters. Arrow is brother to Henry (Rear Ended). But other than that, this was pretty bad. It felt very generic and forgettable. The first 50% is mostly boring sex scenes that are interrupted by their own thoughts. I wound up skimming large portions of the last quarter of the book rather than DNFing it, just to see if any scenes might stand out. (nope.)

Quick pet peeve: this needs more proofreading. I noticed spelling and grammatical issues. Rowen vs Rowan and the like.

There was barely any character building, especially on Lewis' side. We get a bit of a reveal that Arrow has had anger issues, and worked hard to resolve them... but almost nothing about their background or why they went into their respective careers, or what defines them. I don't recall their ages being mentioned. Described as a twink, Lewis would be approximately early twenties while and Arrow is probably in his mid 40s. A bit age-gappy but no mention of this.

I would have liked more non-traditional characters but when the author basically uses copies of characters from other books... it gets really old.

One star. And I've decided: No More Neuhold for me.
