So good! Just when Holly is awkwardly reacquainted with her mother and Pat's leg is on the mend, Meadowview comes under attack, killing a primary and many ancillary characters, things get tense. The mysterious group working to set the prepper community provides tainted venison to half the town, and we are left with quite the cliffhanger ending. Best book in the series so far! This review is of the ARC program, it goes on sale in 2 days.

Sam has done it again. Endless twists in this one of a kind post apocalyptic series. Her characters have great character growth and I can’t wait to see what happens next.
Holly and Cass as always are stepping up to help the town. Isaac and Javier are trying their best but feeling short of what they can do with what’s going on.
The ending is a shock but it makes me impatient for the next book and can’t wait to see what happens to those in Meadowview next.

I'm listening to the Audible version of this series.The author has essentially switched to a new story with new character additions, a new town and a whole new plot. I personally don't like the new plot, about Holly's home town and it's drama. Our original main characters, Pat and Holly, are hardly present in this book. I'm confused as to why this new material wasn't made into a stand alone series. On the positive side, at least we didn't have to listen to Pat tap his fingers incessantly.

I'm tired of writing reviews, so I'm going to keep this one short..

I wish I'd read this sooner, instead of waiting for a bit so that the cross over characters were fresher in my mind than they are and I could remember the dynamics better, though I do recall bits and pieces.

The attack on the village is slowly starting to make more sense now, fingers were pointing towards the prepper community but maybe they need to look a bit closer to one surrounding them. I'm enjoying the build up of a war on their hands. Friends or foe will make themselves known.

Just when Holly had faced freedom in the face, this cliffy may just take it all away from her. I can't wait to jump into the next book to see what happens and if the village bands together to fight or more leave as they have been doing.

I really liked the multiple POVs, especially the one from Anton.

The pacing was good and I appreciated the recaps that were subtly added throughout the first few chapters.

The characters were developed well and it was nice to see certain characters grow and start to rebuild relationships.

I was disappointed that a certain character chose to risk themselves when there was so much they would miss out on.

I was surprised by who the mole was and I still don't know the full reason for the infiltration and the betrayal but I'm looking forward to finding out

Another enjoyable, well-written, entertaining 176-page Post-Apocalyptic read. “I was a given Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." Next up Grip of Eternity: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Thriller (After the End Book 7) due out in January of next year. The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. Another Fantastic addition to the series, Holly is back with her son Isaac but the nightmare still continues, there's explosions around the town, people are being killed, but by who and why?. Sam is an amazing author, who always leaves the story on a cliff hanger and has you waiting desperately for the next book, that will hopefully answer the questions that your left asking.

Oh Boy, the end is near!

Meadowview down but not out. The forest group is planning. The townspeople are coming together. Pat and his family and friends are surviving and willing to help. But there's more murder and mayhem being wrought. The suspense is so hard to overcome. There's plenty of thriller in this book!
