Amir is a Bengal tiger who lives in the jungle of Nepal. Bengal tigers are the largest Asian cat and have very distinctive marks of brown, black. and gray stripes of fur on their head. and no two tigers look alike. Amir was orphaned at a very young age who lives alone and has no friends. As the story unfolds he begins making friends who enrich his life in many ways.
Strangely he has no tail, which creates curious questions and even some painful, unkind comments. He becomes the subject of bullying from one animal, and despite Amir and his new friends pleading the hurtful comments to stop, he continues to hurt Amir's feelings.
Amir cannot understand why anyone would intentionally be so cruel simply because he is different than the other tigers who live in Nepal.
Further into the story we find out how Amir lost his tail. He proves to be a courageous tiger and becomes the hero of his own story.
