Divinity Knox never expects the devastation of losing the love of her life. Some wounds are impossible to heal but she learns to power through and rebuild.
Kaedenn Montgomery makes a decision to walk away from his one true love only to find himself miserable and unfulfilled. The one woman who gives his purpose is no longer open to sharing his world.
Divinity and Kaedenn both learn that the heart can find healing in the worst of circumstances. When they reconnect for a second chance at love secrets and tormented past prove to be a challenge in mending their shattered emotions. Their hearts can be restored if they are strong enough to let the past go and find purpose in new beginnings.
I really loved this story omg, this was soo good. So many emitions were experienced while reading this. You definitely will shed a tear. Payton was an evil person for real.
Restored in You by D'Mesha Wright is a heartfelt exploration of love, loss, and second chances. Divinity and Kaedenn's journey is filled with emotional highs and lows as they rebuild their connection after heartbreak and devastating choices. The story portrays the complexity of grief and healing, offering a poignant reminder that love can be rediscovered even after immense pain. While the premise is promising, the execution sometimes left me feeling disconnected. The pacing felt uneven, with some moments deeply emotional while others seemed rushed, especially when addressing the secrets and past trauma between Divinity and Kaedenn. I also found it challenging to fully connect with Kaedenn's character, whose initial decision to walk away from the love of his life felt underexplored, making it harder to root for him as their relationship evolved. Divinity's resilience and strength were standout elements in the story, and her character growth was inspiring. The themes of forgiveness and self-discovery are well-woven into the narrative, making this a meaningful read for those who enjoy emotional second-chance romances. While it didn't fully captivate me, I appreciated the message of hope and healing that runs through the book.
This was an okay book for me, Kae was a bird and was rushing through love and situations without sitting his behind down. He never dealt with his trauma of losing the wife and the life he imagined but it was annoying. He talked big stuff and never backed it up forreal. Like the trope is miscommunication or whatever YET WHEN PRESENTED WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO COMMUNICATE HE WAS BEING PETTY. Like one you that hard up for a baby that you’d have one with a woman you don’t like, don’t know and don’t respect? Like GO TO THERAPY BRO. Like he was so concerned with being the perceived bad guy and pointing fingers that he never owned up to his own shortcomings. Like ya wife come back from vacay and you sitting there dejected saying you need space? Like space to do what exactly any woman who respects herself is gonna send them papers as well cus WHATS THE NEXT option. You stressed and sad over no kids how you think your wife feel and instead of suggesting therapy or anything else you say you need space. Like this lady not raising her sister like she ain’t experience familial trauma and abandonment. Like not to down play his feeling cus he def is entitled to his grief and angst but BFFR. Now on to Divinity, sis wasn’t terrible I’m not gonna lie she def needed to put her listening ears on at times but how many people would you really speak to and open up to when you basically alone in the world with just a sister child and a husband that’s pressed for babies. Like the lack of patience and understanding on both their sides was bothersome. I will say it was great that Kae stood up for her against his parents BUT HE was also treating Divinity the same way his mama was but he felt his actions were justified. Like was she moving weird after they lil couch get down but like dang have some compassion and understanding as well. I just hate when the female character is held to a higher standard and doing the work and the male main character just gets to coast. Like yall not goin to therapy as a couple yall not doing no mediation no premarital counseling ect like just tada we a family once more …
When I tell you this book stressed me out and made me smile at the same time, I’m not kidding.
I love me a good secret baby trope and this story did not disappoint! D’Mesha put her big toe into this book and I enjoyed every second. It’s rare that I read a book that makes me want to finish it in one sitting, but I couldn’t tear myself away.
Imagine trying to have a baby with your man and nothing works. Y’all split up, only for you to end up pregnant. Then, when you call your ex to share the news, he tells you he’s minutes away from getting married to somebody else!
Chhhiiillleee, my emotions were all over the place! Everybody stressed me out, but there’s a special place at Lucifer’s day spa for Pissy Peyton!
Kaedeen manned up, he took care of his responsibility because he could have left her. He shouldn't have married Peyton anyway knowing he still in love with Divinity. At least he made Peyton sign a prenup, he came with all the receipts. Yeah, Divinity was wrong from keeping the twins keeping away from Kaedeen but, she owe anybody an explanation except Kaedeen.I'm happy that they owning up to their mistakes. Surprisingly Divinity to Knourish advice and sought therapy. Peyton manipulated Kaedeen for a good little minute saying her and Parker are a packaged deal, getting a nanny knowing that she didn't work nan day before and after they got married. Peyton was jealous and bitter from the very beginning. I love how Divinity loved on Parker like she was her own. Kaedeen and Divinity never stopped loving each other. Perry got my last nerve. Kaedeen got his family back finally.
Divinity and Kaedenn’s story is one of second chances. It was a good read with some wicked behaviour from a certain someone, but I felt some themes were under explored which meant the story seemed incomplete. I wasn’t really invested in them as a couple because we didn’t truly get to explore their marriage and them as individuals in-depth. We get a glimpse of Divinity working through her communication difficulties in therapy. We see Kaedenn stand on business when it comes to Peyton but I wonder why he didn’t do it earlier and why he was still trying to play happy families. I also was left confused about the role of Kaedenn’s family and what the added information about his brothers marriages was to add to the story…
Divinity & Kaedeen were always meant to be. I was so afraid when it jumped to her being pregnant with her babies cause I thought they weren’t going to make it. Peyton needed someone to do to her what she did to Devvy towards the end. Perry was annoying. I want to know the outcome of life for Kavari & Klayton. Klay’s wife rubs me so wrong & Vari’s wife appears selfish & I want to know what made them that way. Kae’s mom really pissed me off she was very overbearing. I loved the growth & restoration!
I was introduced to this couple in “Build me up”. There is a scene in that book, where Kaedeen reads the heck out of Lauren and Caydence. That men stood on business behind his woman, Divinity and I love it.
So imagine my surprise to learn they had their own book. I was so excited and pretty happy with this book overall. Their story was interesting and a really well done second chance romance. There must be something in the water- because Caydence, Peyton, and next Lauren all have the crash dummy energy bad.
Good read. The beginning had me all in. I normally hate when the character has to find healing in the same person that hurt them to begin with. Kae seemingly abandoned his wife at about vulnerable time. Although she shut him out, with her loss it was understandable and as her hubby I’d think he’d know that for better or worst. But then what happens when the reason you really left no longer exists? Peyton was insane!
I really loved this book man. I am actually very happy they got their HEA. Idk if I believe you only get one true love but I will say once you find it the first time. It's pretty darn hard to find it again. I'm glad they found their way back to that first time. Beautiful story and how it flowed. How Devvy and Kay were, cracked me up. Loved every moment. 5 stars Ms. Wright and a new reader on your hands. 😁
This was my first read and i will be diving into this catalog…the story and characters were well developed and set up for other books Kaedenn and Devvy were meant for each other although I understand not tell Kae in the beginning I get it and Kae should have listened to his gut before walking down that aisle cause Peyton was coo-coo g f or coco puffs just an awesome read
hmm.. so I'm not sure how this book was supposed to be taken but, this man was disgusting. He took no accountability, he threw tantrums, he degraded, and he verbally attacked when he didn't get his way. He jumped from one woman to the next with a matter of days. And, divinity just allowed it just to say she had him? I wish her self-worth was more, I wish she made him work a little bit more, smh. It's bothersome to see these women get dragged through the mud the way they do.
I’m usually a street lit / hood love type of girly, but every so often, I enjoy some romance. THIS was a perfect mix! Devvy and Kae went through some tough times both together and apart. I loved that their tough times didn’t break them down the way they could have. Peyton was a piece of work! This was my first time trying this author, but it won’t be my last. She penned a great love story!
I loved every bit of this book. Even Peyton getting on my dang nerves with her gold digging jealous antics. I loved the journey they took as a couple because we often go through these things, and it's not displayed. I loved how things worked out and played out in the end. I'm trying hard not to spoil it lol. It's a great read.
This was a super quick read short, to the point, and nothing felt rushed. The pacing was good, but I did wish there was just a little more detail in some parts. Still, I liked how the author left room for us to fill in the blanks. Can’t wait to read the next story about the brother. Definitely keeping my eye on this author 👀📚
Kaedenn wasn’t a likeable MMC, he came off very temperamental and mean. I’m thinking it was genetic because how was every one of his parents kids either divorced/divorcing/ or in a failed relationship 🤔
Peyton, girl BFFR. You knew that man did not like you.
Devvy, you alright with me but you could’ve made Kaedenn work a lil harder to get back in your good graces.
This was a great read. I loved how they found their way back to each other. Divinity and Kaedenn really loved each other. I hate Peyton did all the evil stuff she did. It’s true if you set it free and it comes back it was meant to be. I need more on this family.
This was just amazing. The love between Devvy and Kae was untouchable. Even though hard times came upon them this author brought that love back strong. This is an awesome story. Unconventional but beautiful. Great read.
This was a great second chance, secret baby book. I finished it on sitting. Their love was evident from beginning to end but it’s hard dealing with hand they were dealt. There was the right amount of drama, crazy and karma. I definitely recommend
This story was drama and hot mess in one episode. That second wife was a psychopath who needed to be taught lesson for real and I glad he left her and took the child too.
So….maybe an unpopular opinion but I didn’t like Kae. He had audacity and kept giving old girl the benefit of the doubt. She showed him way before all of this exactly who she was and whew! Great love story though!
This was my first book by this author and will not be my last. The book is a good second chance romance. It was filled with miscommunication, grief, loss, deception, jealousy, and lies. However in the end love won. Can’t wait to read about the other brothers
Wow, this was a great read a whirlwind romance I am so happy that they made it back to each other, and this books show that you should follow your first mind if something is nagging at you and it doesn't seem right, it's probably not right.
This was a little stressful. Devvy and Kaedenn could’ve likely resolved things sooner had they gone to marriage or grief counseling. And she should have told his parents. There were a lot of secrets and non-communication going on in this story, but it kept me entertained.
I loved this book and thought it was well written. I loved that the main character were able to overcome their issues all that they endured and found loved again.
