No Easy Catch

FROM POPULAR ROMANCE AUTHOR JAQUELINE SNOWE

Book four in the Cleat Chasers series – a new edition!

A jock and a party girl teaming up—makes total sense, right? Actually, maybe...

Ambar Henderson is a senior communications major who has no idea what she wants to do in life. She spends most of her time working on her blog after gaining a lot of readers with a story she wrote junior year and...never followed up on. The last thing she expects is an angry jock accusing her of involvement in a scam that could shake the college to its foundations.

Jeff Maddow should be focused on his senior season of baseball and not the suspicious activity happening on the team. It's his time to shine and get drafted, but after seeing incriminating evidence, he can't not investigate. And his first lead is the campus blogger...who's related to a name in the document he saw.

Ambar's been coasting, writing about campus fashion and hook-ups rather than politics and economics, but when Jeff shows up at her place spouting wild accusations, she agrees to help him just to prove the stubborn athlete wrong.

Long nights, impassioned arguments, close quarters...both Jeff and Ambar find opposites more than attract when things heat up.

Jaqueline Snowe lives in Arizona where the "dry heat" really isn't that bad. She prefers drinking coffee all hours of the day and snacking on anything that has peanut butter or chocolate. She is the mother to two dogs who don’t realize they aren’t humans and a = mom to the sweetest boy. She is an avid reader and writer of romances and tends to write about athletes. Her husband works for an MLB team (not a player, lol) so she knows more about baseball than any human ever should.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy from the Author. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. No Easy Catch by Jaqueline Snowe is a different sports romance than the other two in this series that I have read. This time it involves a blogger who is going to report a different story than what she is was doing.
Can Ambar and Jeff uncover the truth in this incriminating scandal before one of them gets hurt?
Jeff Maddow
Jeff Maddow is the one that finds out that something is going on, and he doesn't like it. He thinks that it is a scam involving his coach, Ambar's uncle, and Ambar. Jeff might be wrong about that, and he is okay with that. He is falling for Ambar, and he isn't sure why. Jeff is a senior and wants this last season to be his best. I think that Jeff is a great character. He wants to know what is going on but is also afraid. Jeff doesn't know what might happen to his teammates and Ambar.
Ambar Hernandez
Ambar Hernandez is a blogger that is trying to figure out what she wants to do in life and what to do for her senior project for communications. The thing that she doesn't know what she wants to do for either. So when Jeff comes to her with this idea that Ambar could use for her senior project but they get it done in time. Good thing that she is good at uncovering stuff like that isn't easy for Jeff. Ambar has proved to Jeff a lot of times that she is good at what she does even though Ambar doesn't think that she is.

No Easy Catch CRI can relate to Ambar a lot in the fact that we are both bloggers. Granted about different things but I can understand the pressure she is under for that. I like how she handles herself, even though her family may not see her as a good person. Another thing that I like about her is that she won't give up on something that she feels is right, which this article is.
Four Stars
No Easy Catch by Jaqueline Snowe is worthy of these four stars. Ms. Snowe has done another incredible job of bringing to life baseball and college life. I felt like I could relate to these characters, and I am sad to know that this is the last book of this series. Don't forget to check out this book when it comes out or the others in the series!

Ambar has been a party girl until in her last year of college she decides to stop drinking and take her studies more seriously.
Jeff is a player on the baseball team, totally responsible and doesn't have a very good opinion of Ambar, so when he discovers that something strange with the sports teams and some of the scholarships and that Ambar's uncle has something to do with it, he doesn't doubt to accuse her as well.
Ambar manages to convince him that she is innocent and together they begin an investigation.
As they investigate, they unleash their passion and end up falling in love.
An enjoyable and easy read.

This romance was quite enjoyable to read. Ambar and Jeff had quite the first meeting, and things sort of snowballed after that. I thought that Ambar and Jeff had great chemistry and some of their conversations made me giggle. This series has been fun so far, and this novel was fun and light-hearted.

No Easy Catch is the fourth book in the Cleat Chasers series, and the second one in the series I have read. You don't need to have read any of the others to get into this story.

This is an enemy to lovers story, set in the world of college with a whole host of dodgy dealings going on. To begin with, Jeff doesn't trust Ambar at all, even thinking she has been involved with it all. He soon learns she is innocent of all charges apart from being related to one of the men involved. This was a lovely tale, with a slow-build romance threaded through the mystery. As the reader, I got to see Jeff's first moments of realisation that Ambar was more than he had previously thought.

Although this is classed as a sports romance and Jeff plays baseball, it didn't take over the story, and there wasn't much there where he was actually on the field. The world is well established, with individual characters adding highlights to the story, or moving forward where necessary. The pacing was smooth and punchy when needed. I did find some words or phrases were used slightly repetitively but that's probably just me.

On the whole, I enjoyed this book and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone who enjoys a coming-of-age romance with sports elements.

* A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and the comments here are my honest opinion. *

I liked No Easy Catch, but it was my least favorite in the series. It was missing something for me that the first three books had. I don't know if it was the heavier atmosphere with the romantic suspense plot woven in or the fact that Ambar lacked the easy self-confidence the other three ladies had. It felt different. Actually, now that I think about it, I think it might have been missing the gang in general. Ambar was not really in the friend group like Callie, Greta, and even Kenzie were. In those three books we saw a lot of moments with the entire gang. Those three weren't really around in this book and the moments we got with Aaron, Tanner, and Zade were few and far between. The entire group was more involved in the first three books. Jeff was kind of avoiding certain stuff with the guys and Ambar was on the edges of the friend group, so maybe that was it. I mean, I did love Jeff and Ambar together. There were a lot of great moments and chemistry between them. The little suspense plot was fun. Overall, it was a good read. I just kind of expected more from it.

This is book four in The Cleat Chasers series and it is Ambar and Jeff's story. Ambar and Jeff are both in college, Jeff is a baseball player and Ambar is a blogger but when Jeff suspects something is wrong and going on with his teammates it is Ambar that he turns to as he wants to find out if she has anything to do with what is happening and if not will she help him find and solve the problem. Ambar and Jeff are the total opposite of each other in every way and yet in some ways they are perfect together and for each other or only they could get over there trust issue's. I absolutely loved this book and the characters and storyline pulled you in and kept your attention throughout and I couldn't put it down and I can't wait to read more books in this series as Jaqueline Snowe is a brilliant author and writer and her books are definitely worth reading.

Two people who, on paper, shouldn’t out, but in the real world…they’re perfect for each other.

I love a good enemies to lovers story and this one fit the bill. Ambar isn’t exactly trying hard in college. She’d rather do her thing her way. Blogging and having a good time. Then there’s Jeff. He needs to do well and isn’t about to let a scandal or Ambar get in his way.

Right? Wrong.

I love the way these two characters clashed and rooted for them. Ms. Snowe has written a great story that flowed well, and I couldn’t put down. This is the fourth book in the series, but I don’t think I missed anything by picking up right here. I’ll be looking for the other books, though, as this one oozed with chemistry.

If you’re looking for a sizzling book for the weekend, with great characters, college life and baseball, then this is the one for you.

This is the 4th book in the Cleat Chaser series. Jeff is a baseball player and Ambar is a communications major and the campus blogger. Ambar and Jeff are proof that the saying opposites do attract. Ambar is working on her article for her senior project when Jeff comes to her with a crazy accusation about some of his teammates. Jeff is s willing to help her when he notices that some of teammates are not coming back for there injuries and they discover that some of them are faking there injuries. They end up getting the bottom of whatever is going on only to deal with the positive and negative results on what was really going on. If you like sports romance books this one for you.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I enjoyed this story about Jeff and Ambar. They are both seniors at college, he's focusing on baseball and she's into blogging. She's crushed in him for the last three years but her only remembers her freshman fiasco. When he confronts her about a scandal he thinks she's involved in she offers to prove him wrong and clear her name. But when her uncle's name is mentioned, she's put on the spot. Over the course of finding information Jeff and Ambar develop a friendship then friend's with benefits. Trust is put you the test. But the beginnings of a true HEA.

No easy catch is the fourth book in The Cleat Chasers series.
Ambar Hernandez is a campus blogger who usually writes about fashion but now she is going to write a different kind of blog than she is use to.
Jeff Maddow is in his senior year in high school. He is a baseball player. He has found incriminating evidence that something was going on with the team. He knew who he had to talk to about this since she knows everything that goes on at the campus.
Can Ambar and Jeff get to the bottom of things before they fell in love? Opposites do attract as the saying goes.

This is the last in the Cleat Chaser series and I've read them all--and enjoyed them all. No Easy Catch has a more mature feel to it, as it should since the gang is now near graduation time. The underlying theme in this one of two kids-turning-adult and trying to figure out if their passions are real or pastime was great. Seeing them come together to help each other in that arc and the overall plot goal of taking down the coaching scandal made their slow(ish) burn relationship very real. If you enjoy sports romances I definitely recommend this book and the entire series.

Ambar is a communications major who blogs on campus activity, mostly fluff. Jeff's on the baseball team, and something's out of whack, but he can't pinpoint exactly what's going on. Between them, they figure out the mystery. And fall in love. This is a cute enemies-to-lovers book. As much as they don't want to like each other, Ambar and Jeff are on a slow burn. This is my first read from this author, and it was an enjoyable book.

Wow, great way to end this series. Intriguing topic with so much depth into the storyline especially dealing with today’s headlines to give it more fuel. Great characters that have a natural attraction, I enjoyed all the investigative part that led to so much more of the characters and just how much they were then what everyone perceived them as a party girl or just the hot baseball player. This was a great way to end this series loved how they’ve all grown up and ready to take on life.

LOVED the characters and storyline of this book. First book I have read in this series, but definitely will be going back and reading the rest of the series. Love story that keeps you right on the edge of your seat with who done it, will they get caught, will they or won’t they fall for each other, and so much more. Great book that isn’t just a baseball and athletic story.

No Easy Catch by Jaqueline Snowe. Enemies to Lovers and Sports Romance - the best combination ever! Seniors Jeff Maddow and Ambar Hernandez don’t like each other much. But, after deciding to put aside their differences to work together, they get to know each other and fall in love. Along the way, they break the news of a scandal in the athletic department, deal with their personal insecurities and figure out what comes next after college. Loved it!

This was a sports and enemies to lovers story. You get drawn into it from the very first chapter. I loved the funny encounters they had, like in her room at the beginning. The way their romance blossomed was so beautiful. Jeff misjudged het entirely and the way he says her for who she truly is was sweet. Ambar was insecure but only grew stronger.
I really enjoyed this story.

Holy hotness! Jeff and Ambar should not work out but wow they sure do mix together perfectly. Exactly what I expected from Snowe and a great ending to this series (I think it’s the end cause all the guys from the baseball house have been matched now). A great read full of emotion, intrigue, banter and steam.

Another story of romance in sports. Ambar is accused of malicious writings in her journalist blog and the hot guy next door believes she is writing trash. But then he realizes there is more to the story than either first believe. They investigate until not only do they figure it out, but fall in love.

Suspenseful, sweet and sexy.

Cute, fun read! I like the writing style and the enemies to lovers scenario. This is a college age, sports type romance, so there is that pop of immaturity to the characters, but the chemistry is good between Jeff and Ambar. I enjoyed them teaming up to investigate a scandal going on at their school. Enjoyed the read!
