Europe 1940: A Battle Against Time...

In the heart of Nazi-occupied Europe, the fifth instalment of the Fernsby's War Series delivers a riveting tale of courage, love, and survival.

Evasion finds Michael Fernsby on a high-stakes mission to rescue a vital asset from the enemy’s grip in Holland.

As Europe falls into chaos, Michael must navigate treacherous territory to fulfil his duty and protect the future of the Allied forces.

Meanwhile, Mina works tirelessly with the resistance, her secret broadcasts bringing hope and truth to the German people.

With danger lurking at every turn, she becomes a symbol of defiance against Nazi oppression and a key figure in the fight for freedom.

As Michael races against time to evade capture and complete his mission, he faces enemies old and new in a world where survival is never guaranteed.

With loyal allies by his side and the Gestapo in relentless pursuit, the road to freedom is fraught with peril.

Every moment is a battle for survival, testing his resolve, courage, and unyielding spirit.

Evasion is a gripping saga of sacrifice, determination, and unbreakable bonds - a testament to the enduring power of love and the human spirit in the darkest of times…

J.C. Jarvis grew up in Derbyshire, England, with a lifelong fascination for history, particularly the Second World War and Tudor England.

After serving in the British Army and later working in the IT industry, he turned fully to writing, transforming a lifelong passion for history into a career as a bestselling historical fiction author.

In addition to Fernsby’s War, Jarvis is the author of the John Howard Tudor series and the origin novel Defying the Reich, which tells the powerful early story of fan-favourite resistance heroine Mina Postner.

About ready to start #6, but I think Evasion (#5) was best so far—and all the books in this series are great. These are page-turners, and I can't stop reading once I begin a book. I was getting a bit weary of how Michael Fernsby continually self-flagellates about how many people have died to keep him alive, but his remorse, regret, were not overdone in this book. The love interest is fully believable, the geography fascinating, but the BEST part of Jarvis' writing is his pacing, which keeps one on the edge of seat and reading way, way past bedtime! Five stars for the entire series.

I can’t recall when I’ve encountered an addictive series of novels that could come close to matching Fernsby’s War. As with the preceding four books, I read “Evasion” in one day…as the novel was nearly impossible to put aside. From the defeat of France to the destruction of Holland, Michael Fernsby, the young and indomitable British undercover agent, continually finds himself in the midst of the fiercest action of WWII. Along with the suspense and very believable multi-dimensional characters on both side of the conflict, this series captures the hope, despair, and tenacious courage of everyday people caught up in the horrors of war. The late Philip Kerr would have loved this series!

Enjoying this series very much, it's not often when you read a longer series of books that there isn't a falloff or starts getting repetitive. These books stay very sharp and I love how accurate they are, he really does his research. His characters feel very alive and quite honestly it gives me a real sense of the dangers everyone felt in that era, it was such a dark time. Highly recommend this series.

A real WWII Spy Thriller

This, like every other book in the Fernsby’s War series, drags you straight into the Resistance movements in the Netherlands and France. We share the privations, fear and bravery of those that resisted the Nazi’s. The characters flowing throughout the series kept me on the edge of my seat. This book ends by setting up the next. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

The fifth in the World War 2 series covering the exploits of Michael Fernsby, a Department 317 agent. This
Department is an elite group within the British MI6 agency. Full of adventure and suspense as well as historical research. In this particular novel Michael works with both the Dutch resistance and the French resistance to get Senta, his lover Mina’s sister out of occupied Europe to England . An excellent and very enjoyable series of novels.

Great series

I have read all five of this series and couldn't put them down.
The action keeps you reading and cheering the characters on!
These books are probably more interesting to people that are old enough or interested in what happened back in time or someone who wants a fast pace great story!
I recommend them highly!

Book number five doesn't disappoint!

Jarvis creates excitement right to the last page. Fernby continues to get into all kinds of situations that caused this read to sit on the edge of her chair. Be warned, once you state Evasion you have to read until it's done!

Story inside story all connected.

Story inside story all connected. As the crucial assignment to bring out a prize package goes awry the story enfolds. The fall of the Netherlands and France brings out the resistance fighters to help.

fabulous

I have loved all these books but this one was beyond great!! I loved it. It doesn’t end like the rest, oh well , he makes it there’s another book. This is truly a cliff hanger! Main characters dies and he has more major events going besides Michael.
