To all my loving readers, thank you for taking the time to read this story. I hope it brings you as much joy as it gave me writing it. Please be aware that this story delves into heavy topics such as autism, police injustices, anxiety disorders, PTSD, and domestic abuse.
I also touch on agoraphobia – an extreme fear of leaving one's own home.
While some issues are mentioned more prominently than others, they all play a role in creating a realistic and engaging story with its mix of humor, love, conflicts, and relatable situations. Happy Reading…
This book was ok. I think the writing threw me off and it made it hard for me to enjoy the book. I loved the representation of Autism and the relationship she had with her best friend. I didn't care for the ending but I guess we will see if my thoughts change if I read the second book.
This story had all the makings of a good stand alone but I kinda figured when we got to the 81% mark and it seemed to not be wrapping up that there would be more to the story. This was a 3 star read for me cus I feel like it’s too many characters with each of them having heavy stuff going on. I feel like when you include hella mental issues, health issues, medical diagnosis the story starts getting too hectic especially when it’s involving multiple characters. I feel like the focus of this story should’ve been Jax and the fool but that’s just me. I also dislike when authors tip toe around an issue like yes we can use context clues and assume whatever it is but I rather they spell it out and build on it. It’s annoying to read his mom’s apology and him saying he’s messed up, and how life did him wrong and forced him to have his guard up. Like yes I can guess that he was a victim of domestic violence in his childhood but EXPLAIN IT without graphic detail so then we can understand certain behaviors better. Also using OCD as a diss toward him was weird coming from someone “who loves him”I also need more clarity in the situation with Sabrina. He got scared and started shutting down? Or did he cheat first or something cus the sister and Sabrina both tried to justify her affair like he had done something for her to get her lick back. So if that’s the case then I can’t really understand why he’s so mad. Now if he didn’t cheat but did start moving away from his girl it still don’t justify the cheating and why is it worded as if it is. Now on to miss girl Cree, she was a character that I wanted to root for cus she was well written seemed sweet but dumb you know like most of us in our 20s. My issue was the author wasn’tclearly communicating the characters emotional turmoil like how has her mother being a shut in affected her, what happened that she’s locked in a cycle with a man like Kross? Why everyone keep reminding her she’s dumb yet expecting her to move past it. Like other than Jrue everyone got snide remarks and disbelief toward her, yet they can’t see how that might lead her back to her toxic relationship. I appreciated the representation of autism in this book but I feel like it was just another not so well executed part of the story. I know there will be a part two but hopefully we get down to the nitty gritty and uncover why Jax and her both so messed up. Also might be petty but I don’t like when the story don’t really match the title like she needed a real one and AINT NONE cus Jax a man under construction she a bird flapping between the nest and progress so it’s just like where was the love at ? I’m okay with slow burns but I expect some burn somewhere and not between her and an ex she was calling everything but a child of god and having unprotected sex with
This book had a fine ass man on the cover. I was expecting this man to give me all the feels... Not! His description and prifession do not match at all. There was only a small piece of spice at the very end of this book. The main characters kinda got lost in the story to me . The book started to focus on any and everyone else. It had so much potential to be good, but it truly fell short and missed the mark for me. I did have a laugh or two, so that earned it a generous 3rd star.
I like this story. I just think Cree was very anxious and didn't give herself time to heal from all the betrayal of her xi boyfriend even though he came in time to rescue her sister and sister's best friend.from a disastrous situation. I really like Jax but he couldn't make up his mind what he wanted to do. He still his having problems with an ex. I would love reading that the opposite get it together. Finally, going back to sleep with Kross should really be closure for their relationship.
What I enjoyed the most was the interaction/ friendship of Cree and Jrue sisters Halle and Nala! These two characters are blessings and characters themselves. How the author use characters with special needs drew my attention even more.
Definitely looking forward to part 2 cause Kris is working my nerves as well! However I’m loving me some Jax!!! Looking to find out more about him and Cree..
Honestly it’s a good book but not for me Cree and Jax barely spent time together we didn’t see them build nothing in this book then for Cree to leave kross for cursing then wet the end we find out he ain’t cheat it’s just all over the place and we haven’t even begun to break the barrier with Jax’s problem I don’t know this book did not make me wanna read part to but I love this author so I thought I would give it a try
This was a good book and I was rooting for Cree. I hope trying to get closure doesnt come back to haunt her. There should have definitely been some conversation & protection. I dont like Kross but im glad he was there for Nala & Halle. Ready for part two to see if Jax gets the help he needs and can truly become what Cree needs.
This was a good fast read. I had a feeling that the girls date was going 2 end in disaster. I just had a feeling. Kross 2 the rescue but DAMN Cree.... Those moments of weakness can really set progress back a whole lot... I'm waiting on Ms Sabrina... I'm sure she's going 2 make the next installment very interesting...
I really enjoyed this book. Tiece don't be playing with the pen. Regardless I'm team Crax/Cree & Jax. I loved how open and honest Jax was with Cree from the start. They both are broken in their own ways. Kross didn't deserve Cree just like Sabrina didn't deserve Jax. That hanga got me on pins but I'm rooting for a Crax happily ever after.😍😍
Dang! This was good! It's about releasing what's convenient and stepping into something new with no guarantee. Everybody got real life issues. The highs and lows of relationships are not glossed over. It's a truly compelling story.
So now I'm so confused on who I want her to be with. Kross really did not cheat, so I really like them together. Jax is all messed up and maybe they would be better off as friends. This is so much, I just don't know what to do lol.
I’m so invested in this book OMG!! You feel like this your story in real life. The way these characters come together in this story. I’m on my way to read book 2.
I hate a confused dumb ass bitch and that is what Cree is Kross ain’t shit and Jrue is bitter. Jax told her the truth but Cree is too stupid to realize that her dumb ass needed to fucking heal. Hopeful this shit gets better
