Drown in You was the greatest combination of dark and smutty stalker vibes. Sienna runs from her past and into the arms of her new stepbrother Luke who also happens to be someone else she’s become close with. Luke refuses to let Sienna ignore the chemistry between them and he’ll also have to be the one to protect her when her past comes back to try and take her out.

Luke was such a swoon worthy hero and had the hottest kinks that just did things to Sienna…and me lol. I loved his protective nature and the way he fell so hard for his girl. Sienna felt, at times, a little childish in terms of some of her decisions but with Luke she was a loveable character.

Full of action, smutty goodness and suspense, I couldn’t put this story down. I didn’t read the first book in this series and I think this can stand alone but reading the first book may give the reader a broader understanding of this world. Overall, a great read!

I honestly enjoyed this book. I started it already last year but dnf very early cause it was not what I was in the mood for. Now I decided to give this a second chance and it was worth it! I‘m a mood reader so sometimes the book and my mood don‘t match.
The plot was thrilling and interesting with some drama going down. I was glued to my kindle all morning and I really like the writing style. It is easy to understand and fluent to read.
Sienna and Luke are good for each other and I adored them as a couple. They have great tension and their banter was good as well. I liked how their story turned out and we love a possessive man who protects his woman.
What I didn‘t like was the drama surrounding their parents (I don‘t want to spoil anything here). That was kinda unnecessary and felt forced.
Anyways this was a enjoyable and well done dark hockey romance.

Right from the start I was sucked into the twisted setup: Sienna Carter and Luke Valentine met online years ago—he’s her masked man, she doesn’t know his real identity—but now they’re under the same roof and everything changes.
What I loved: the tension is real. Luke’s obsession, the “we’ve always known each other” angle, the forbidden-feel of living together when he’s hiding so much—it all makes for big emotional stakes. The banter, the power shift, the way Sienna tries to stay away and fails … it all hooked me.
Where it didn’t land perfectly: some of the twists felt familiar (masked hero, secret identity, step-family proximity), so if you’re deep in the dark romance pool you might think “yep, I’ve seen that beat.” Also, I found myself wanting a bit more time to digest some of the heavy emotional reveals. But none of that stopped me from liking it a lot.

OOOOOHHHH MY GOSH Harmony West does it again! The second book in the Diamond Devils series, and it had me just as hooked as the first. A taboo step sibling dark hockey romance with a possessive/obsessive MMC.

I love that Luke and Sienna have known each other and opened up to each other for years before they actually meet in person.. only Sienna doesn’t know that Luke is the man behind the mask, her friend Ten, whom she’s been talking to online for years. But what happens when they meet in person, only to discover their parents are married?

Their story is hot and steamy, Luke and Sienna are a wild duo. Nothing like having a sexy one night stand, then finding out you’re step siblings the morning after. 😏

Also, I REALLY hope Juliet gets a story in this series, I NEED to know what that girl is all about!!

Loving this series! I really love the hockey romance but with much more dark themes than the other hockey books out there. Taboo step siblings will always be a winner and great spice in this series. This is book 2 of the Diamond Devils series, following If you Dare. They are interconnected so you will get spoilers if they aren’t read in order, just a warning. BUT YOU SHOULD READ THEM!

Sierra doesn’t know that she’s known Luke, her new stepbrother for years, because she’s known him as someone else behind a mask. She also doesn’t know he’s her stepbrother the night she invites him to her hotel room for a night of passionate fun. And when she finds out, she’s done, wants no more of it, even if it was an incredible night.

Luke knows who she is and knows she’s who he wants, he will do anything to have her.

I loved seeing the boys from the previous book and getting to see Wes and Violet. I’m am so so so hoping for a Julia and Trey story. Please make my dreams come true!!!

While this one isn’t as dark as the first book, it is still incredibly delicious. Hits the mark for masked men and chasing for sure. This is a delightful continuation of the hockey boys and I cannot wait for more!

so I had alot of mixed feelings on the first book but I will say this one was much better! I enjoyed it a lot. I love Luke.. he could be considered a “cinnamon roll” character but the decisions he makes are slightly messed up. I already loved him in the first book so him getting his own book was great! Sienna was a decent fmc, I got annoyed a few times with her but nothing too bad. I’m very intrigued in Knox, Damien, and Finn and can see them all being in a RH.. 👀 I think that would be interesting… but idk how I feel with 1 character returning in the epilogue… I don’t want to spoil anything but it looks like he’s gonna be the mmc for book 3. so we’ll see what happens.

This was my first book by Harmony West, and honestly, this review might be just as chaotic as the book itself because I finished it at the beginning of July and I'm writing this towards the end of the month. By now, I've already read several books from different authors, so some of the smaller details have faded. But one thing I haven't forgotten is exactly how this book made me feel, and that's what matters the most.

The funny thing is that Harmony West wasn't exactly a new author to me. For almost three years, I kept seeing her books pop up on Instagram whenever people recommended forbidden romances. I even had screenshots of Drown in You saved on my phone from years ago, but I never actually picked it up. At that time, I was completely obsessed with authors like Rina Kent, so Harmony West simply stayed on my never-ending TBR. The only reason I finally decided to read this book was because Lola King had me in an absolute chokehold throughout July. I had already finished four of her books back-to-back, and when I picked up the fifth one, I realised I had already started reading it years ago. Going back to it felt like rereading something I already knew, and instead of enjoying it, I kept thinking I was wasting my reading time. So I did what every reader eventually does—I opened Instagram, searched for forbidden romance recommendations, and Harmony West immediately appeared again. This time, I decided to stop ignoring the recommendation and finally give her a chance.

The premise instantly caught my attention. A hockey player, a forbidden step-sibling romance, and an anonymous online friendship? That sounded exactly like something I'd enjoy. Another thing that appealed to me was the length. Compared to the 500-page books I usually read, this one was only around 250–300 pages, so I knew I could finish it quickly if I liked it. And honestly, the beginning completely hooked me. I started reading after midnight, but my mom kept telling me to go to sleep, so I only managed to read the first few chapters before calling it a night. Even then, I couldn't stop thinking about it because those opening chapters did exactly what they were supposed to do—they made me want more.

The story follows Sienna, who has spent years talking online to someone known only as "Ten." They share almost everything with each other—family problems, fears, loneliness, secrets, and emotions. Ten becomes Sienna's safe place, the one person she always turns to whenever life gets difficult. The twist is that Sienna has absolutely no idea who Ten really is. Ten, however, knows exactly who she is. After overhearing his mother mention that her boyfriend has a daughter around his age, he becomes curious enough to search for Sienna online. He sends her a friend request, she accepts it, and instead of revealing his real identity, he keeps pretending to be a stranger. He even lies about where he lives because he convinces himself that their parents' relationship probably won't last anyway. I genuinely loved this setup. Anonymous online friendships are one of my favourite tropes, especially when one person secretly knows the other's identity, and I kept waiting for the inevitable moment when everything would finally come crashing down.

If someone asked me to describe this entire book in just one word, my answer would simply be guilt. Not guilty pleasure. Not guilty romance. Just... guilt. Every single major character is carrying guilt over something. Sienna believes she's responsible for her parents' broken marriage because she remembers how deeply in love they once were, and she convinces herself that somehow she caused her father to leave. Luke carries guilt after watching his father die in front of him as a child, believing he should have been able to save him. Later, he also carries guilt over the death of one of his close female friends, another tragedy that he believes he could have prevented. Luke's mother believes she could have saved her husband if she had gone with him that day. Sienna's father is drowning in guilt because his gambling addiction destroyed his marriage and separated him from the family he loved. Sienna's mother carries guilt because she never gave her marriage another chance before filing for divorce. Everywhere you look, someone is blaming themselves for something. At one point, I honestly felt like guilt had become another main character in the novel.

Another major part of the story revolves around Marcus. Sienna walks in on what appears to be Marcus hurting her best friend Juliet. Believing Juliet is in danger, she instinctively pushes Marcus away. Marcus falls from the treehouse, badly injures his leg, and loses the athletic future he had planned for himself. Even though Sienna acted because she genuinely believed she was protecting her best friend, Marcus blames her completely. From that moment on, he dedicates himself to making her life miserable. He threatens her, attacks her, and makes it very clear that he isn't finished with her. Watching Sienna constantly live in fear made sense, and it also became the reason her mother decided that she had to leave everything behind.

Around the same time, Sienna's father announces that he's getting married again. His new wife just so happens to be Luke's mother, and Sienna is sent to live with them while starting a new life at Diamond University. She's heartbroken because she has to leave her mother, leave her hometown, and accept that her father has built a completely different family without her. Before officially meeting everyone, she spends some time alone with a coffee, emotionally exhausted and trying to process everything. That's when she notices an incredibly attractive man. Acting on impulse, she decides to spend one last carefree night with him before her life changes forever. I absolutely loved this section of the book. The chemistry was immediate, the tension was excellent, and I knew exactly where the story was heading. Then comes one of my favourite moments in the entire novel—she walks downstairs to meet her new family, the door opens, and standing there is the exact same man she spent the night with. Luke. Her new stepbrother. I loved that reveal. It was dramatic, entertaining, and exactly the kind of forbidden twist I had been hoping for.

Luke had recognised Sienna from the very beginning. He knew she was the girl he'd been talking to online for years, but he chose not to tell her. Instead, he convinced himself that fate had brought her to him, and he wasn't going to waste the opportunity. After that night, he completely accepted one thing in his own mind—Sienna was his.

Unfortunately, this is also where the book slowly started losing me. The middle became incredibly repetitive. Luke keeps chasing Sienna, Sienna keeps reminding him they're step-siblings, she tells him no while secretly wanting him anyway, and the cycle repeats itself for a large portion of the story. The same thing happened with the spice. If you've read my reviews before, you'll already know that I love my spicy books, and I like them very spicy. But I don't just want a lot of spicy scenes—I want each one to feel different and meaningful. I want the relationship to evolve through them. Here, after a while, the scenes started blending together. They stopped feeling exciting because they all followed the same pattern, and that repetition was one of the biggest reasons this book lost stars.

The "Ten" storyline was probably the strongest emotional aspect of the book for me. Even after moving away, Sienna continues messaging him every time she feels lonely because he has always been the one person she trusted the most. She tells him everything about her new life, her father, university, and even her confusing feelings about Luke. But Ten never replies. As readers, we know why—Luke is standing beside her the entire time, terrified that she'll hate him once she discovers he's been lying about his identity. Watching Sienna slowly convince herself that Ten had abandoned her, just like she believed her father had abandoned her, genuinely hurt. It was frustrating because she repeatedly suspected that Luke and Ten were the same person, yet every single time he denied it, making her doubt herself all over again.

Eventually, Marcus returns once again, creating even more chaos by attacking Sienna and leaking a private video of them. Thankfully, justice is finally served when evidence exposes everything he's done, and he faces the consequences of his actions. Around the same time, Sienna finally discovers that Luke has been Ten all along. Ironically, he doesn't confess because he decides to be honest—the truth comes out during an argument instead. She's furious, and honestly, she has every right to be. She asks for space, and for once, Luke actually respects her wishes. Watching her parents reconcile after wasting years because neither of them took the first step makes Sienna realise she doesn't want to repeat their mistakes. She chooses to give their relationship a chance, and the story ends on a sweet note with them reuniting and finally getting their happy ending.

Now for my final thoughts. The biggest reason this book lost stars for me was the repetition. The romance became repetitive, the spicy scenes became repetitive, and after a while it felt like the story kept circling the same conflict without moving forward. That's why it didn't earn five stars from me. But why didn't I give it four stars instead? Because this entire book felt like one giant guilt trip. Everyone was guilty. Luke was guilty. His mother was guilty. Sienna was guilty. Her parents were guilty. Marcus made everyone else feel guilty. Even I was guilty. Guilty for starting this book... and apparently guilty enough to continue the series anyway. That sentence probably sums up my entire experience with Drown in You better than anything else.

Despite only giving this book three stars, I never wanted to abandon the series. One small thing I didn't realise until later was that Drown in You is actually the second book in the series, not the first. The first couple had already graduated, so I never really felt lost while reading Sienna and Luke's story. Maybe one day I'll go back and read their book, but for now I don't feel like I missed anything major. After finishing Drown in You, I moved on to the third book, which follows Juliet, and I was immediately more interested because I absolutely love her goth-Barbie personality. The revenge plot hooked me much faster than Sienna's storyline did. I'm also reading the fourth book, Aurora's why-choose romance with Damien, Knox, and Finn. I'm taking my time with both books because I always seem to have another main read taking priority, but emotionally I'm connecting with those stories much more than I connected with Drown in You. So while Harmony West didn't completely win me over with Sienna and Luke's story, I genuinely think the series gets stronger as it goes on, and I'm enjoying the later books a lot more.

Overall, Drown in You had an addictive premise, a fantastic beginning, and enough chemistry to keep me turning the pages. Unfortunately, the repetitive romance, repetitive spice, and overwhelming theme of guilt stopped it from becoming a favourite. I still enjoyed it, but I didn't love it, and that's exactly why it sits comfortably at 3 stars with a 🔥🔥☆☆☆ jealousy level. If you enjoy lighter dark romances, forbidden step-sibling relationships, hockey romances, emotional conflict, and hidden identities, you'll probably have a good time with this book. But if you're someone like me who loves darker heroes, stronger possessiveness, higher jealousy levels, and spice that constantly evolves, you'll probably enjoy the premise much more than the execution. Even so, I wouldn't recommend judging the entire series based on this book alone, because from what I've read so far, the books that follow are shaping up to be much stronger than Sienna and Luke's story.

Actually so stupid. 😭😭 this had the potential to be so good and then it just went absolutely no where. the fmc knew it was the mmc the whole time (says she’s not gonna get mad at him for being ten) and then goes and gets mad at him when he reveals it’s him. 🧍🏽‍♀️ like girl are u ok
