Wade Wilson triumphed against Death Grip! This is the first issue of a new arc and killing Deadpool NOW would be an INSANE thing to do. Which is exactly why we're doing it.
So in this we finally see Ellie taking over the mantle of Deadpool, yay? I guess it's been building up to this for a while now and I don't know if it's me or the fact that Marvel put less and less effort into people taking over huge mantles at the moment but I just don't really feel for her.
Deadpool is now the man in the chair, being that he's been crippled, I'm not surprised but it's not really what I want from Deadpool series. He's got a lot of faith in Ellie but for some reason he's given her a no kill rule, even though she just blew up Death Grip last issue so she has taser knives. So she's like Deadpool but softer? It's a really weird set up given her partner is also Deadpool's daughter and has been shown to kill a lot of people without even thinking about it.
They go on their first mission, which is lead by Taskmaster what's odd about it is it was stated that Deadpool was leading but no Taskmaster does and Deadpool does like a video call at the end whilst Taskmaster watches the whole thing play out. The action is fine and the mission is solid but the thing I quite enjoyed was the cliffhanger, little bit of a spoiler there cover! .
