Born Vicki Ann Guidice, her journey into the realm of the spiritual and supernatural was initiated at birth. Her early years were spent in Queens, New York known for having more people passed on than alive, as well as having several Gothic cemeteries within walking distance of its communities. At the age of 15, she moved to Los Angeles California taking her fertile imagination with her. After meeting her future husband, Ronald Bush, her new homeland became Las Vegas, Nevada.

As a mother of two, her first published book in 2008, Winslow Willow the Woodland Fairy, took her love of fantasy and spun it into a heartwarming children’s book. The progression to the young adult literary market took root in her novels that captured the haunting qualities of the Las Vegas desert surrounding her, but it was New York that called her home. Alex McKenna, the main character in the book series first published in 2019, is the embodiment of her Italian-American roots, memories of adolescent outsider status, and the strength it takes to live an authentic life.

Ms. Bush is a co-founder of Coffee House Tours, an events-based collaboration between local bookstores and coffee shops allowing authors to represent themselves and their works. Additionally, she is a frequent podcast literary guest and has a special relationship with The Center LGBTQIA+ Las Vegas where Alex McKenna has been an inspirational focus as a transgender Paranormal teen. Now starring in the short film Alex and Margret’s Beginning, inspired by the book series, Ms. Bush is now an award winning short screenplay writer and Producer. Bringing her moving and unique storyline and character to a broader audience.

Thanks to Sunny Babe PR for the arc! This was ok. Very interesting story & characters. I don't read sci-fi a lot, so this wasn't a fav. But I would give another book from this author a try.

I had no idea what to expect from this book. Crazy things started happening almost immediately.

A group of friends want to enjoy a relaxing vacation in Primm, Nevada. Hang out by the pool, sip on a few drinks, do a little gambling, and maybe take in a show. Sounds perfectly normal.

Upon reaching the hotel, the group sees a large line leading up to the reception desk. Fortunately, they see one of those handy-dandy self-check-in kiosks. Maybe it was really unfortunately. After entering their rooms, Jessie peeks out the window to check out the view. Again, a normal action. What she sees is not normal. In fact, it’s the beginning of a never-ending nightmare.

I loved reading this book. I didn’t want to put it down. In fact, I will read it again soon. Maybe I’ll be able to answer my own questions.

Room 629, like all sci-fi novels, asks the question : "What if?" In this case the full question is: "What if illusions could be real?" Although this oxymoron seems impossible, Jessie and her friends Micah, Patrick, and Caleb soon learn nothing is impossible.

After their graduation from UNLV, the four students set off on a celebration trip to Prim, Nevada. While there, they see what appears to be a suburban town fading in and out of existence. But this is no romantic Brigadoon, instead their discovery starts them on a journey into horrors they couldn't have imagined.

The story is fast paced and exciting, but the young characters spend a great deal of time considering their relationships as well as the problems they face in the illusive town. This gives a light feeling to the novel. The style reminded me somewhat of the old television series “Charmed” or the more recent series “Supergirl.”

This book would be a fun read for someone who enjoys sci-fi, horror, and road trip stories.

80th book of the year! ✨

So this was a different kinda read for me and I really enjoyed it!

The imagination behind this book was really great, and it actually had some deep topics in it as well. I liked how the writing flowed and was pretty detailed too.
The story, overall, was intriguing and fast-paced. The sci-fi/mystery vibes were exhilarating and the romance laced in it was subtle but sweet. The end makes us question A LOT of things and left me super curious! If there will ever be a second installment, it’s something I would probably want to get my hands on 👀

Anyway you would like this book if you’re a lover of sci-fi / alien stuff / a bit of horror and a bit of romance hehe. It’s also short and easy to get through! 💙

Thank you to Sunny Babe PR & the author for the ARC copy 🩷

☆Sci-fi, mystery♡

New to me, author! The writing was astounding! I quickly found myself enjoying everything this book has to offer. To start, it has a really good mix of mystery, suspense, romance, sci-fi, and more. I thought the way that the author combined all of those aspects was pretty neat. I also loved the storyline and thought it was highly fascinating. I definitely see myself reading more from this author in the future!

Thanks so much to the author and Sunny Babe Pr for the ARC!

ARC read.

I loved the beginning of this book and the whole “what on earth is going on?” chaos. The concept is good and the idea for the plot is very good.

However, this book needed more work with description & not trying to be a short story. It was my first time reading a sci-fi book and I was really disappointed. It lacked description of a very key location to the story that moves through time & it made that whole section a complete headache to read. If this book was a standard length & added the detail of how this al worked, it would have been great.

The reason for the alien invasion was a bit extreme and TW it is SA. I feel that’s just an extreme thing authors go for when they can’t think of a solid plot idea & want the shock factor rather than a good story.

I thought the story was great and interesting, the execution just was lacking a bit. Overall, I was lost at times while reading the book and it wasn't always very descriptive with what was happening. I was very confused and lost the plot a few times.

There were also some grammar/structural issues I found while reading. I noticed that there were a lot of comparisons in the book, to the point that I noticed every single one once I realized it- "like a", "like", "we were like". It felt like rather than just describing the emotion/action/appearance, the author just made a comparison instead. There was an extra quotation mark randomly in the text, a space before one of the periods in another spot. Just little things like that, that I noticed.

It also seemed like there used to be 6 characters, and it was shaved down to 4 later on. In the book, at one point, it mentions "the six of us" when there are only four characters. It also seems like too much was deleted and that introduced some plot holes and confusing scenes.

Thanks to Sunny Babe PR and the author Vicki-Ann Bush for the ARC copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Jesse and Micah are off for a much-needed girls’ trip to Primm, Nevada, but their getaway quickly turns into a nightmare they never expected!

From the moment they check into room 629, strange things start happening. First, Micah spots a mysterious neighborhood from their window… only to watch it vanish into thin air. Then, they’re abruptly told by the casino staff that they need to move rooms due to a strange smell – one they never noticed. And just when they thought it couldn’t get any stranger, they encounter a blood-covered woman warning them to leave. 😳 What is going on in Primm, NV?!

If you love the eerie vibes of The Twilight Zone, you’ll be drawn right into this fast-paced, mind-bending thriller! Liminal Space is packed with suspense, twists, and plenty of “WTF is happening?” moments.

Vicki-Ann Bush keeps you turning pages as Jesse and Micah fight for survival in a reality that’s anything but normal.

Thank you to Sunny Babe PR for the ARC.

Plot 4.5/5
Characters 3.75/5
Ending 4/5
Interest 3.5/5

Overall 3.75/5

-After the previous I read that was too long, this book was quite short, and perhaps too short. As a sci-fi book, it’s under 200 pages which doesn’t leave much for world building. But it helped being the fact that the main characters themselves didn’t know anything about the world either so we were discovering everything with them. Because of the length, I still have quite a few questions about everything but it works in this book as a mysterious aspect keeping us on our toes and leaving us thinking about the book even after having read it.

-I don’t really have much to sya about the characters. Nothing really kept me attached to them or anything but there good enough. I’m not really sure how to feel about Gideon being added to the equation, which at first felt kind of random. The book could have done without the bumpy romance between him and Jess. I liked Simon and his storyline.

-The ending does leave us questioning everything about what happened in the book, the world and the aliens but it all works quite well for this book. I like things being left on a question with answers rather than only answers and nothing more to question later on.

Liminal Space” by Vicki-Ann Bush—a title that beckons us to the edge of reality, where the ordinary and the extraordinary collide. Let’s step into this intriguing world together!

“Liminal Space” invites us on a weekend getaway—a seemingly innocent escape for friends Jesse and Micah. But as they witness a woman, blood-drenched and screaming in the heart of a casino, their world tilts off its axis. Security whisks the woman away, leaving Jesse and Micah shaken. They try to move forward, but mysterious events unfold a town appearing and disappearing from their hotel room view, like a mirage in the desert.

The novel weaves a desperate fate, secrets, and a truth larger than life. What if the boundaries between worlds blur? What if reality itself is a shifting tapestry? Vicki-Ann Bush takes us on a journey where curiosity leads to revelation, and lives are forever changed. Whether she’s exploring the supernatural, historical events, or science fiction, Vicki-Ann consistently infuses her stories with romance. Love—sometimes forbidden, sometimes otherworldly—anchors her narratives. It’s the heartbeat beneath the eerie and the fantastical.

Evoking old horror classics and episodes of the Twilight Zone involving more diverse couples caught in up in the otherwordly peril, this is a tale of such a group of people. Written from the perspective of Jessie Marshall, she and her friends Micah, Patrick, and Caleb attempt to go on vacation. It’s a chance for Jessie to sort out her feelings about Gideon, her estanged boyfriend while Patrick and Caleb can spend a little more time together. Alas, the hotel and the nearby town they’re visiting are not what they seem. Joined later by Gideon and Simon, a man whose dead wife was involved with the mystery, they become more and more aware that their surroundings are nothing more the illusion, concealing the terrifying truth of what’s really happening. Now how they can hope to escape, let alone stop it?

This book reminds me a bit of Invasion of the Body Snatchers only with a happier ending. Much of the paranoia, fear, and mystery involved with some of the old horror classics can be found in this, only the foes are a little more sympathetic. If this interests you, check it out.

This was my first sci-fi book believe it or not and I enjoyed it! This was a quick read (less than 200 pages) and was very mysterious.

Best friends and college roommates Jessie & Micah want to get away for a few days, especially since Jessie was dealing with a breakup. They decide to go to Primm, a town on the outskirts of Vegas. Boy did they not know what they were in for when a woman with blood all over her was causing a ruckus in the hotel lobby. Then they noticed the town was vanishing. Talk about odd! And that was just the beginning! If it were me I would've high-tailed it back to Vegas because when Vegas is the less weird option you know you have a problem!

This gave me X-files vibes and kept me engaged as I went along. If you want a quick, clean & sci-fi book then you can't go wrong with this one. I would definitely read more from Vicki-Ann Bush!

A girls weekend away, a resort in Nevada and the uncanny and mysterious occurrences that happen to a group of friends.

I finished this book in one sitting! Without spoiling too much, this short & snappy sci-fi read was hard to put down. As a fan of the genre was really impressed with how much transpired in just shy of 200 pages. As someone who has read quite a few ‘creepy pastas’ about liminal spaces I can honestly say it one of my favourite spooky, concepts. This book really encompassed that surreal, eerie aesthetic - disappearing towns and the feeling of abandoned surrealist landscapes!

I enjoyed Jessie our FMC, although I feel that with the book belong quite short or was hard to really connect with her, however I loved her snarky vibes and of course I enjoyed the inclusion of a love interest (although Gideon grated me a little lol).

Vicki-Ann Bush created a very satisfying and entertaining read with her recent offering –“Room 629.” I was particularly impressed with the dramatic arc in this YA science fiction. The action comes on fast and seldom lets up. The story builds on alien conspiracy theories and answers the questions of why they are here, and how long they’ve been among us. The first person POV helps to repeatedly build tension and lends a sympathetic feel for Jessie, the main character. The multiple plot twists utilized by the author generated a “slinky on the stairs” effect of rising and falling action and intrigue, and keeps readers on their toes. BTW-the Young Adult category may be too restrictive. A well told tale- the imagery and story line should be of interest to Sci-Fi aficionados of any age.

💭My thoughts: This was a very interesting and fast read! The whole time I was always telling myself “Now, why would you do that??” 😂 I stayed for the plot, but man did some of the decisions the characters make, make me want to shake some sense into them. I’m not usually a sci-fi fan but this one had my full attention. It very much reminded me of the show The Twilight Zone. The author did a great job with the rise and fall of situations to keep a reader entertained. I just didn’t love the dialogue, reading it made me feel like it was too forced especially the relationship of Gideon and Jess. That ending though, wow what a wide open ending. I’m not sure what to think really happened in the end. I definitely recommend if you want a quick fast paced sci fi read !

Liminal Space

Liminal Space is a sci-fi story. It's not my usual genre but I enjoyed the story nonetheless. It was an interesting and easy read, not too long and the characters were relatable. The end hinted at a second book as it did not tie up all loose ends.

Tropes are:
* Alien Invasion
* Bumpy romance
* Found friendship

It revolves around two friends who discover something strange in the desert.

Micah and Jess are friends who decide to drive to Primm for a weekend. They notice something strange from their room and are witnesses to something horrific.

They team up with Jess's ex boyfriend, Gideon and another guest, Simon to find out the truth.

Thanks @sunnybabepr and @vickiannbush for giving me an eARC in exchange for a review

So you go on a vacation and while gazing out the hotel window you see a cute little residential area. Only when you look out that same window later, the whole neighborhood is gone! That’s only the first bizarre thing that happens in this book. It pulls you along as the main characters try to figure what is happening and why. Oh and they are trying to solve a murder along the way. I found this book very interesting. It’s a bit of a puzzle you are trying to figure out along with the characters. It’s a relatively short read, so it’s great as a weekend book and it’s perfect for spooky season!

This was a short yet intriguing story! Full of alien sci-fi and mystery. Dealing with recent breakup, two friends go off on a girls weekend together to Primm, Nevada just outside Las Vegas. When they arrive, something feels off. Then weird things start happening, like entire towns disappearing, and a woman screaming in the casino, covered in blood, telling them to run. When that woman’s husband approaches them, they want to figure out what the mystery of the disappearing down is, what happened to his wife, and - when her ex shows up - the feelings that may or may not still be there. They should have just left when they had the chance.

A one-sitting, jump right in and come out the other side like *woah* kind of book— I enjoyed Liminal Space by Vicki-Ann Bush! I’m not usually one for mystery or sci-fi vibes but this was intriguing, quick read that made me want to pick up both genres more in the future.

Also, as if I hadn’t already enjoyed theorizing about conspiracy stories in Nevada already, this read totally scratched that itch.

While I definitely knew from the start this wasn’t going to be an ordinary girls weekend away, nothing really could’ve prepared me for what truly happens in this one.

If there’s ever a part two, I’m in!

Thank you so much Sunny Babe PR & Vicki-Ann Bush for the ARC!

Fast-paced story perfect for fans of The Twilight Zone. Jesse and her best friend Micah head out for a weekend girl's trip. But once they arrive to their hotel things go from bad to worse. Peaking out of the window of their room, they see a small town. But the next time they glance out the window, the town is gone. Just vanished. As they investigate the weird vanishing town, they may discover a world beyond their wildest dreams.

Liminal space was a quick easy read. It follows a group of friends who visit a town just outside of Las Vegas, when mystery strikes they want to investigate this mysterious vanishing town. It definitely isn’t my kind of sci-fi and I most likely won’t read it again, but it’s a short and easy read. It’s more mystery than sci-fi, though expect aliens and alien encounters…. All in all it was ok. A little better than 3 stars.

This one was trippy. A fast paced alien adventure. I felt like I was zooming around with the characters while they searched for answers. I will say the ending has me questioning everything!

It was a fun read, out of my norm, but that’s what I love about reading every book is an adventure.

This book keeps you wanting to read more and more to find out what is really going on.

The same desperation that all the characters feel ends up being felt by you.

I love that it kept me hanging on every detail from the beginning without even understanding anything.

BUT WHAT ABOUT THAT ENDING?

SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME

👽ARC REVIEW👽

Liminal Space takes a seemingly normal vacation and flips it into a surreal nightmare. Jessie and Micah head to Primm, Nevada, expecting poolside fun and a bit of gambling. But things take a strange turn after using a self-check-in kiosk, and Jessie spots a flickering suburban town from her hotel window—setting off a fast-paced, mind-bending adventure.

The mix of sci-fi, horror, and unexpected twists kept me hooked. While the story moves quickly, the characters’ relationships add emotional depth, giving it a fun vibe like Charmed or Supergirl. Jessie’s first-person perspective pulls you into the action and makes her journey feel real.

Though it’s labeled YA, the story’s twists and themes will appeal to readers of any age. If you like sci-fi, creepy mysteries, and stories that make you question reality, this one’s for you!
