Lost Forgotten

Imagine waking one day with a new face and no memory, an opportunity to pick a new name and start a new life; a clean slate. Orphaned as children, separated for 22 years, Melissa is intent on finding her identical twin, Marissa; however Marissa is now Mariah and not who she used to be. Melissa’s search brings her to Los Angeles, crossing paths with Tyron, the only person aware of the truth, a person with immoral intent. As Melissa searches for her twin and Mariah searches for who she was, they are both faced with first time romances. Their brief crossing of paths and wisps of twin psychic connections provides one hope, and the other confusion. Tyron hatches a plan to bring them together, for a price that includes more than just their money. Lost Forgotten is story of wealth and poverty for far from pretty identical twin sisters as one meets evil in her search for her other half, and the other struggles to start a new life and find out who she was.

I loved this story from beginning to end, written extremely well (apart from the typos and spelling mistakes) so well that it hooked me from the start and pulled me along the stream of twists and turns and bends enough that it was not easy to breathe - just as one thing was solved, along came another problem.

A tale of two sisters, one where we see the horrors of cruelty, the delight of togetherness and how the bonds of family should never be underestimated.

Filled with believable characters, some likeable, others not, however the intertwining of them all within the plot made this book a definite page turner.

Highly recommended.

James Paddock is a master storyteller. Lost & Forgotten is filled to the brim with color, action and mystery. Things have a way of turning on a dime so it’s not possible to guess what is going to happen next.

As good as the action, what stuck with me, long after I had read the words "The End", is how tuned in Mr. Paddock is to what makes people really tick. Most writers create attractive main characters, but he takes us into the lives of two women who are so ugly people actually avoid looking at them. His understanding of what it must feel like to have to live with that type of unfortunate characteristic is spot on the money. I suspect Mr. Paddock is as good at observing people as he is about writing about them.

Not only do I recommend Lost & Forgotten I think it is by far the best book I have read all year.

Identical twin sisters separated in childhood, are reunited after a series of life changing events. Kidnapping , amnesia, and facial reconstruction surgery. Ironically the villain in the story sets the wheels in motion, when he mistakes one sister for the other.

The story was good. Characters were authentic. Only real drawback was length. The story could have been told just as well in fewer pages.

I am a great fan of Paddock's novels and Lost & Forgotten hasn't disappointed. Yet another five star read this has all the excitement of a Keystone Cops chase. Twin girls Melissa and Marissa have the misfortune of being incredibly ugly but dearly loved by their mother. That is until she is killed in a tragic accident. The girls are then taken into care as orphans. One is later adopted leaving her twin sister to grow up in an orphanage. Losing track of one another they grow up to lead individual lives. Eventually reaching their thirties, Marissa is abducted by a trio of thugs intent on rape. This is where the story picks up pace and doesn't let go. I will not reveal more as this story deserves to be read in it's entirety. There are a whole host of superb characters with such delicious names as Detectives Slowball and Shamble. This novel has everything but above all it keeps the reader guessing. Just when you think everything is going to work out well for these two young women, Paddock throws a spanner in the works and off you go again on a breathless journey of crime solving and missed opportunities. I was willing for it to all go right for these hard done by twins. Would they find one another and more importantly would they do so before either one dies at the hands of the evil Tyron. My God, he's a villain you love to hate.

This is a highly recommended read.
