Rate this book
Callum met Luna a year ago during a beach trip and has been stuck on her ever since. One perfect day followed by a year of regret. Unfortunately for him, all he remembers about where she lives is a vague idea of what the North Carolina town sounds like. Fortunately for him, that’s enough for his best friend Cato to hatch a plan. Together, they plot a route across the state in search of Callum’s prospective soulmate.

Hina’s life plan fell apart eighteen months ago when two pink lines had her trading in her Harvard scholarship and dreams of being a cardiothoracic surgeon for diapers and a dead-end job. Now, she dreams of the days she’ll once again get more than a few hours of sleep, let alone put herself back out there like her mother so annoyingly pushes. With all her attention focused on her daughter, the last thing she needs is a romantic entanglement.

When Hina finds herself in the back seat of a pickup truck sailing toward North Carolina with her cousin and his dopey best friend, she wonders why she agreed to join such a ridiculous quest. For his part, as Callum gets to know the feisty girl who is helping them, he struggles with the suspicion that he might just have been wrong on that whole soulmate thing. He just needs to convince Hina before they succeed in their mission and ruin everything.

If you enjoy sweet coming-of-age first love stories, this one is for you.

TD lives in Northern Virginia with his wife, Kim, and two dogs, Frodo and Piper. He has three three incredible daughters, all way smarter than him. Looking for Luna: Road Trip to Romance is an charming story that captivated me from the exceptionally to begin with page. The account unfurls with a delightful blend of humor, sentiment, and startling turns that kept me energetically turning each page.

The characters are flawlessly created, each with their claim interesting charm and profundity. Callum's assurance to discover Luna is charming, and his travel over North Carolina is filled with minutes of giggling and reflection. Hina, on the other hand, brings a reviving complexity to the story with her common sense and versatility as a single mother. Her intelligent with Callum and Cato are endearing and frequently silly, including a layer of realness to their street trip experience.

The setting is strikingly portrayed, transporting perusers to the picturesque scenes and interesting towns of North Carolina. It felt like I was right there within the back situate of the pickup truck, sharing within the fervor and expectation of each goal along the way.

What I especially cherished approximately this book is its capacity to mix sentiment with more profound subjects of self-discovery and moment chances. The advancing flow between Callum and Hina are depicted with sensitivity and trustworthiness, making their relationship feel veritable and sincere.

By and large, Looking for Luna: Road Trip to Romance may be a feel-good studied that cleared out me with a grin on my confront and warmth in my heart. It's a idealize choice for anybody looking to elude into a world of adore, enterprise, and the magnificence of unforeseen associations. Exceedingly prescribed for fans of modern sentiment and sincere narrating.

Beautiful, heartwarming story

A beautiful story of friendship, growth, love, resilience, and sacrifice.

The story follows Callum, later known as Cal, his best friend/college roommate Cato, and his so-called crazy fire-breathing cousin Hina. The three go on a trip together to locate Luna, a girl Cal met a year prior and couldn't forget. They had an epic day together but he forgot to get her number so Cato decides it was time for a road trip on their week off from school. He suggests they will need his cousin's help but warns Cal he will like her.

Cal and Hina meet the day before leaving for their adventure. Cal was working hard on a school assignment and lost track of time, calling in a pizza at the last moment. Hina tired, becomes annoyed and lets him have it. When they see each other the following day it's funny and cute.

Along the ride together they share moments of getting to know one another, laughing, some flirting and braking down walls that Hina put up years ago, and with good reason. She has refused to let any man in her life as she feels she has no time for it and her focus is on something much more important to her. However, Cal breaks through her tough exterior a little at a time.

Their nicknames for each other were so sweet and I loved how Cato called Luna the moon and then Cal came up with the nickname Sun girl for Hina.

This story is full of sweet, funny and relatable moments. I loved how Raw it could get but the ending was My absolute favorite.

If you like the friends to lovers or slow burn tropes then this is a book for you.

I totally enjoyed LOOKING FOR LUNA - ROAD TRIP TO ROMANCE by T.D. Fleming.

This story is utterly charming and very smoothly written, following college age buddies Callum and Cato as they go off on a road trip in search of Callum's dream girl, the lovely Luna whom he'd met and lost during a summer fling a year ago. Complicating things is Cato's attractive cousin, Hino, the young single mother who accompanies them to three cities in North Carolina where it is suspected they might find Luna.

Of course, it doesn't take long for the romantic sparks to fly between Callum and Hino, vastly complicating everything.

It 's no spoiler to say that, of course, Callum and Hino will wind up together by the end, just as Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan always find a way, against the odds, to somehow finish each of their rom-com movies together. That's okay because the reader roots for that connection to happen and our interest is sustained by the "how" of that matter . . . and that's what happens in LOOKING FOR LUNA, also.

During their road trip, the author also gives us some very interesting description of the North Carolina settings, adding to reader enjoyment.

A strength of author Fleming's writing are the conversations. His dialogue is funny and witty and spot-on the mark. The characters sound real. While this book is romantic, the physical scenes never get too hot and spicey, as there is a solid Christian foundation to everything.

Very enjoyable read -- recommended!

Almost a year ago Callum had a romantic missed connection with a beautiful girl named, Luna. He keeps Luna's photo with him and he can't get over her. He wants to look her up and continue to see more of her. Callum gets his friend Cato and they travel through the South. Cato has a cousin named Hina. Hina is a single mom with a very young baby girl named, Wren. Callum, Cato, and Hina go together for the road trip. On the road trip Callum starts to get flirty with Hina. Hina tells him she cannot be with him because her top priority now is her child. They continue to drive. On one of their stops, Cato falls for a girl named Mara and so Cato stops going on the road trip and decides to spend time with Mara. This leaves Callum alone with Hina. They start to develop a more than friends relationship, and then recall the whole purpose of the road trip is so Callum can reconnect with Luna. Callum says he doesn't think he will ever find Luna and wants to give up.

Just when Callum is ready to give up, Hina finds Luna and leaves them together. The problem is that Callum has changed his mind. His attraction to Hina is still strong, and now face to face with Luna, who still likes him, he has to make a decision which woman he wants to be with.

This really was an excellent read. The character chemistry is great, and how it all unfolds feels like a treat in itself. Callum's quest for Luna has been sweet, but his growing relationship with Hina takes a turn, becoming thrilling. Her character is strong and driven, someone who truly shapes up and matures Callum. The way their conversations sound is so deep and heartwarming.

I felt like I was right there with them on this road trip while I read the whole time. All their games and sports in the great outdoors are indeed very involving and fun. The feel of this story is so cozy, like an atmosphere that invites one into it. I think what this book does reminds me of certain Hallmark movies, which adds to the enjoyment.

Callum having to choose between Luna and Hina kept me on an emotional rollercoaster until the very end. It isn't some fluffy, feel-good love story; rather, it's one touching on hope, regret, and odd strands that connect people. By the end, I was genuinely attached to the characters and their fates.

All in all, this really is a great read that leaves you wanting more from this author. You will surely love this story if you like light-hearted, meaningful romances. Very highly recommended as a feel-good read!

Such a sweet, and at times bittersweet book. The story is in the subtitle: a road trip to romance story is exactly what happens. While looking for who he thought was his dream girl, the beautiful blonde Luna, Callum is accompanied by his friend Cato and along the way meets Hina. Their meet-cute isn't exactly cute as they rub each other up the wrong way, but a close friendship and sweet romance develops along the way.

What I thought was going to be a predictable story was definitely enhanced by the nuanced characterisation of Luna, Hina and Callum. Before Luna was even introduced, I wrongly disliked her, as I didn't want anything to get in the way of Hina and Callum, a romance I was rooting for. Later once I got to know Luna, and how kind and understanding she was of both Callum and Hina's feelings, I found myself enjoying their renewed relationship. The ending was satisfying too, as well as the additional character at the end - I'll stop there as I don't want to spoil the entire story! An enjoyable and sweet romance.

Callum is an English major with dyslexia, debating whether to seek out his “soulmate” Luna, a beautiful girl he met a year ago but never exchanged contact info with. His only hope of finding her is a blurry photo and three possible towns she might live in. Callum’s friend, Cato, convinces Callum to do a road trip to find Luna. Hina, Cato’s cousin, joins the group. Hina is a single mom, and her top priority is her daughter. That means no romance, no relationships, no dating, no love. While searching for Luna, Callum falls for Hina.

I really enjoyed this book for several reasons. The conversations between Callum and Hina were powerful and thought-provoking. Hina was very set in her beliefs and defended her values to the end. Because of Hina, Callum developed more of a growth mindset. I also appreciated the musical and movie references, especially Andre the Giant. The outdoor adventures were fun - especially the fishing scene! Well done!

Friends to lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes, and “Looking for Luna” is a solid choice for anyone who enjoys the same. I wasn’t sure at first about the certainty of the religious values undertones, but the book isn’t ever preachy and it was easy to literally go along for the ride as Hina, Callum, and Cato trekked across North Carolina in search of a young woman Callum met a year earlier, convinced that she’s Callum’s soulmate. As Callum and Hina travelled, it often did feel like I was there with them in the pickup truck. The setting descriptions were compelling but not static. The two things that stood out most for me though were the dialogue, which was witty and layered, and the pacing of the plot. Because this book was a romance, I anticipated an HEA but the literal ride there didn’t always seem like a foregone conclusion. In other words, Fleming had me flipping the pages all the way to the end.

It is a very pleasant read that takes the reader back to carefree, college years. Two friends, Callum and Cato, and Cato’s girl cousin, Hina, go on a road trip to find Luna, a girl Callum spent a day with a year back, but has not forgotten since then. They don’t have her phone or address, but they make a list of three small towns, where she could probably be.
Their adventures and conversations are enjoyable and the descriptions of small towns are full of charm. I only wish that the author used facial expressions (raising eyebrows, scratching chins) sparingly.
It was heartwarming to see Callum and Hina developing feelings for each other, and by the time they found Luna, I really wanted them to stop searching and even was a little angry when Callum let Hina leave. But that was not the ending.
I recommend this book to all readers who love cozy romance and Hallmark movies.

Sweet

Loved the characters’s chemistry in this lighthearted story. This would make a nice Hallmark movie as there is a cozy and inviting element to both the storyline and the writing style.
