Love it

In the beginning I was SKEPTICAL because I have never read a vampire novel before but the way this book was crafted and beautiful told about our ancestors history of slavery showing the good, bad and the ugly. This book intertwines love so beautifully and complicated as well. The love making scenes, the way they are described is definitely a 20. I promise this book will definitely not disappoint. 🌹🌹🌷🌷🌸🌸🌼🌼🌻🌻🌺🌺

I really enjoyed reading Vampire Uprising I. I'm a huge vampire, lycan, mystical creature fan. The historical mentions and history lessons that were all through this book, had me stopping and completing research myself. This story is about love and family and taking care of your community. Now the author did explain that the dialect and grammar was going to throw the reader off a bit because she was trying to capture the language that was spoken back in the day. Once I got over that part, it was an excellent read and cannot wait to read part II.

Unexpected

This is a great read about Vampires and their lives with a historical perspective. While this isn’t my normal genre, I read it for a book club and ended up liking it. The story is well-written.

I really enjoyed this book

I really enjoyed this but! The only drawback was I did not like the main heroine. She annoyed me to no end… total hypocrite. Just ugly…

I’m not usually into the vampire genre, but Vampire Uprising: Chronicle I took me by surprise in the best way. Much like Octavia Butler’s Fledgling, this book redefines what it means to be a vampire by weaving cultural and historical depth into the narrative. Blk Qween delivers an unforgettable journey, transitioning seamlessly from the harrowing times of slavery to the complexities of modern life.

The story is steeped in Black love and resilience, while the supernatural elements enrich rather than overshadow the human experience. And yes, the generous helping of hot-buttered, steamy scenes adds an extra layer of spice to the mix, making this a wholly amazing read. Clarence Hollings is a protagonist you root for, fear for, and ultimately admire as he navigates centuries of challenges, connections, and desires.

If you’re looking for a fresh perspective in vampire fiction with rich storytelling, cultural depth, and a touch of heat, Vampire Uprising: Chronicle I is the book for you.

Vampire Uprising: Chronicle I

Vampire Uprising: Chronicle I was an absolute page-turner! From the very first chapter, I was pulled into a world of intrigue, action, and suspense, making it impossible to put down. The writing was smooth and engaging, making it an easy yet thrilling read that kept me hooked from start to finish.

The characters were well-developed, each with their own unique personalities and motivations, which made the story even more immersive. The plot was fast-paced and full of unexpected twists, keeping me on my toes the entire time. The world-building was also impressive, creating a dark and captivating atmosphere that perfectly suited the story’s epic fantasy vibe.

If you’re looking for a book that combines action, mystery, and supernatural elements without feeling overly complicated, Vampire Uprising: Chronicle I is definitely the one to pick up. I absolutely loved it and can’t wait for the next installment in the series!

gets you thinking

it’s funny: it becomes totally plausible that there was a supernatural hand in the liberation of black people from enslavement so why not vampires? It was always folly to think that Europeans, with their numerical supremacy, would voluntarily surrender free labor because it was “the right thing to do.” enter Clarence, on this front & across the timeline. the epic detailing of black history over the course of the last 150+ years in a story that moved from New York to Georgia to the Gullah Islands yet never allowed for a shortage of smut was just the read I needed!

Vampires Black Vampires! That alone had me ready to sink my teeth into this book! But what I found was so much more than I expected. By chapter two, I was completely and utterly hooked!

The world, the characters, the love! The sheer beauty of it all left me breathless. Mama Saf and Clarence's love story was a masterpiece, a tender and fierce tale that will leave you swooning.

But the real magic? The stunning ode to our history woven throughout. The author doesn’t just tell a story; they create an entire world. The book’s detail is something to behold.

I finished this book and now I need more!

I can’t wait to read the next book!

This was indeed a great story. The back story of each character seamlessly brought it all together. The vampires seemed to effortlessly adjust to living decade to decade and century to century. The MMC was a refreshing combination of dominance and and consideration and softness for his woman. I can’t wait for the next installment.

So, I'm not going to leave any stars because I didn't get past chapter 2 in the book to even rate the plot. My review is based on writing style, grammar, and sentence structure, and it lacked all three. By the second or third page of the second chapter, I just returned the book to KU

Review of "Vampire Uprising Chronicle I" by Blk Qween

Blk Qween’s "Vampire Uprising Chronicle I" is nothing short of extraordinary. From the very first page, this book grabs hold of your imagination and doesn’t let go, keeping you on the edge of your seat with its thrilling transitions through various eras, from the haunting depths of the slavery era to a bold and untamed future. The seamless weaving of history, action, and spice creates a masterpiece that defies genre boundaries.

What sets this book apart is its ability to offer something for everyone—romance, suspense, action, and drama, all wrapped up in a story that never loses momentum. Blk Qween’s vivid storytelling and richly developed characters breathe life into every page, making it impossible to put down. At times, I found myself lost in the past, and at others, thrust into a heart-pounding battle for survival.

And the spice? Perfectly placed and unapologetically bold—it adds an extra layer of intensity that complements the action-packed narrative beautifully. The sheer size of the book is a bonus for avid readers, as it allows the story to fully unfold without feeling rushed.

I’m not even finished yet, but I can already say this is a five-star read and one of the best I’ve come across in years. I’m high-key anticipating Book 2 because Blk Qween has set the bar sky-high with this phenomenal debut. If you’re looking for a captivating, genre-bending read, "Vampire Uprising Chronicle I" should be at the top of your list!

This Book Took Me by Surprise — My Honest Thoughts on Vampire Uprising by Qween Blk

I picked up Vampire Uprising: Chronicle I not really knowing what I was getting into, and I have to say—it completely caught me off guard in the best way. The story pulls you in quick, and before I knew it, I was fully invested in the characters and their world.

What really stood out to me was how raw and intense everything felt. The characters aren’t perfect—and that’s what makes them feel real. They’re messy, layered, and forced to make decisions that honestly made me stop and think. I appreciated that the story didn’t sugarcoat anything; it’s gritty and bold but also thoughtful in how it explores power, loyalty, and survival.

The vampire angle is done in a way that feels fresh, not recycled. It’s not just about blood and darkness—it’s about uprising, systems of control, and pushing back. There were moments I had to pause just to take in what was happening, and others where I was racing through the pages to see what came next.

If you’re into dark fantasy with heart, where the stakes feel high (literally and emotionally), I definitely recommend giving this one a read. Qween Blk did her thing.

Good but

I liked the concept of the book overall.I also liked that it spread across several genre. It tackled modern themes and concepts well, like passing . however this book needs major editing and better world building. There at least four or five stories in the book you will get lost trying g to keep them all together. The continual new plot twist drove me crazy because no story or plot drivers are solved , just new ones added. Lack of proper grammar(missing commons and sentence structure) made this a very hard to read book. World building felt like it was just thrown together. There is mention of Beethoven teaching main character music but the main character wouldn't be born yet.

Fast-paced and chock-full of drama, romance, and mystery, Vampire Uprising is the "next big thing" in vampire literature. Rich world-building, complex character development, and intriguing plots and subplots kept me captivated from beginning to end. I look forward to the second part of this beautifully written story.

Whew Chile,..

I enjoyed the storyline overall. I almost DNF’d this off of poor sentence structure and the storylines jumping. It was a lot but I’m glad I continued to read. I’m excited to see about “Gabriel” Liza and Nicky in the next book

A very beautiful universe

This story is a beautiful depiction of the past fueling the future. Any paranormal element you could imagine is encompassed in this masterpiece. The twists and turns still has my jaw on the floor. Each character is multi layered. The way the author explored topics of betrayal, fate, evolution, and even death was authentic to the brilliance of their mind and I want more.
