So I am definitely being nostalgic here. This wasn't my first introduction to the Odyssey at ten years old, but it was the most comprehensive at the time. It was also the most artistically rendered and nuanced.
*Fun fact: I took a sneaky day off school and bumped into my principal anyhow. She never turned into the Charybdis though.

Good book. Enjoyable. Tells the story of Odysseus, but some of the simplifications for good readers are, well, simplifications. Still, worth reading.

This is a wonderful introduction to the Odyssey. There's a little bit of background and a lot of high adventure which has definitely helped my kids in their early interest of history and literature.
Right now I'm combining classes with a 5th grader and a 2nd grader. The older student is reading the full edition and the younger student loves this youth edition without feeling left behind.
