You know the legends, but there is so much more to their tales . . .
Apollo may be charged with the sun, but he is also blessed with the gift of prophecy. When one of his visions foretells the rise of a new legend, he goes to witness the one thing he thinks he can never fated love.
Artemis may be charged with the moon, but she is also a guardian of mortals. When she meets a prince in the forest, she learns her protection comes with a one-sided love.
This is the prequel short story to Love of Legends, a series of interconnected standalone novels retelling your favorite Greek myths as no-spice romantasies. Each novel features its own couple and happily ever after.
Jes Drew is the author of 60+ books including the Cursed Fae of Orphydice Manor Series, the Sunset at Dawn trilogy, Love of Legends, and Bound by Death.
She has three degrees, including a Master of Arts in Behavioral Counseling. A gremlin that resembles a cat keeps her busy when she's not writing about hard-won happily ever afters.
A short little introduction to Jes’s Love of Legends series that really has me keen to start it and see where things go for Apollo and Artemis (as if I need to start another series, ha!).
I really liked Artemis feeling the need to protect Orion from Eos’s potential kidnapping and I’m very curious as to how their relationship is ever going to work out, not to mention end happily. Apollo’s POV wasn’t focused on a ton but from the bits I did get I’m very excited to see where his romance goes, as he seems like a fun, chill guy.
A really good teaser for what’s to come in the series!
‼️Content‼️

This short read was an entertaining prequel to the Love of Legends series! Focusing on the siblings Apollo and Artemis, Apollo's visions see Artemis finding her fated love, but with uncertainty surrounding that vision given who Artemis is, it sets the tone for what is to come. This short read added depth to the characters, and I enjoyed getting an additional look into the world.
The perfect fast-paced pallette cleansing read if you enjoy romantsy, greek mythology, fated love, and clean romance. It's also only 44 pages long and can be read in under an hour.
Sister of the Sun is the prequel to the Love of Legends series. The books are interconnected but can be read as standalones.
The main focus in this short story is Artemis, but it teases both Artemis and Apollo's stories.
A new legend is in the making, and he is fated to Artmeis. She believes it to be a curse on him, considering she has vowed celibacy. Apollo dreams of dancing with his destiny.
I really enjoyed reading this short story. What excited me the most was the introduction of the creature that the legend was hunting as well as the introduction to the new Primordial. I can't wait to continue the series!
I've received an eARC of Sister of the Sun in exchange for my honest review. Thank you, Jes Drew, Boo's Book Publishing, and Booksprout!
prequel • short story • greek mythology • clean romance • dual pov • fated love • romantsy
Occurring before the events of the events of Bride of the Sun, Sidter of the Sun offers a glimpse into the relationship that will be further developed in book 3 of the series.
Featuring Apollo and Artemis, it accounts how one of Apollo's visions sets his sister on a collision course with Orion, the famed hunter and the one that she is fated to love. Of course, with Artemis being the celibate goddess that she is, she is uncertain about how such a relationship will work out without one or both of them getting hurt.
Great introduction story to the series or a good short bridge to tide over those waiting for the next book.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
A really quick read and an introduction to the Love of Legends. I didn't feel a great connection to the characters (might be their immortal nature or just the length of the short story), but it definitely made me interested in the relationship between Artemis and Orion. I read it directly before jumping into book 1, Bride of the Sun, and I think it helped me to get a better understanding. Looking forward to the next installments of this series.
This prequel was amazing and I can’t wait for Artemis’ book with Orion. I liked how Jes made the emotions dealing with Orion complex with no pure way of doing one thing or another. The sibling encounters were well written as well and I loved Artemis and Apollo together. I can’t wait for the next book!
