Rate this book
Have you ever wondered where God is when bad things happen?

This book follows the story of David R. Clark, a war veteran who has found the rest the
Lord promises to all who come unto Him and take upon themselves His yoke. A story
that will remind you of God’s divine presence and compassion — He is always there to
guide and protect you through the darkest hours; those moments when you might feel
lost, abandoned, and alone. He is there to listen and answer your prayers in due time!
After becoming completely disabled and bedridden over eight years ago because of
injuries David R. Clark suffered while in Iraq with the United States Army, he has found
out exactly where God is. Join him as he embarks on an inspiring journey to discovering
that God is much closer than any of us can imagine, especially when we need Him most.
In this book, you will
• God hears and answers prayers. When we put our faith in Jesus Christ, we will
see His miraculous power in our lives, though it might not happen when or as we
expected.
• There is power in the name of Jesus — it is something that will provide strength
and comfort, especially during the toughest of times.
• When we come unto Christ and take upon us His yoke, He offers us His rest, so,
even during our darkest hour and most heart-wrenching trials, we can have His
presence with us and experience peace and joy through and because of Him.
• Jesus does not give up on us, nor will He ever abandon us!.

This is highly-recommended for anyone who is looking for comfort in God’s
presence. Clark offers inspiration from his personal experiences in a journey,
which includes years of feeling abandoned by God, to discovering that He is always
there, especially when we need Him most. This book will guide you in finding
strength and hope through His grace. To find out more, get a copy now!

Finding Value in Another's Experience

Full disclosure: I am not a Christian. So why did I take the time to read and review a Christian book? Because the author invited me to, and I'm glad I accepted the invitation. Anyone who has experienced or cared for those who experienced debilitating illness, unexpected hardships or unexpected detours in what you thought life would be, has experienced the darkness before the dawn. And if you haven't, you will. How do you survive this? How do you find the way through? One way is through your faith. From birth Clark was raised to be a believer and it was this foundation that gave him strength. I found myself wondering about his wife. She had a huge role to play. What kept her strong? It's a good book to read and learn from regardless of your faith and trials in life.

Compelling, gripping and inspiring
This is an astonishing book on the deepest imaginable despair and adversity. It didn’t make me feel uncomfortable at all. On the contrary, it is highly compelling, gripping and inspiring. The author, an Iraq-veteran bedridden due to heavy toxin exposure, takes us on a fantastic journey finding the comfort, strength and power of religion and Christ. It’s a story of embracing the yoke, or as the author preferably puts it, ‘discipleship’ of Christianity, a blessing of the Savior in the darkest hours. I understand there’s a second book by the same author on this theme. Without any doubt, I’m going to read that one as well. David R. Clark is an amazing writer able to turn tremendous personal experiences of Pain into beautiful universal messages of Hope and Love.

I had a difficult time putting this book down. I read it in 2 days (though only because I put it down to sleep and go to church). The author does a fantastic job keeping the reader pulled into his heartfelt journey of highs, lows and sometimes even despair but never yielding his faith in God.

I have gone through dark times in my life and questioned why God had not answered my prayers to heal my son. I also came to see that God doesn’t cause bad things to happen to us but He uses those challenges to draw us near to Him.

This book is an inspiring memoir that will open the eyes of those who seek to know the Father in Heaven. It is a beacon of hope to those feeling lost, forgotten, or unseen by others.

I would definitely recommend this book and look forward to reading Book 2!

God Is indeed Always With You

This book brought back a lot of memories during my own times of tribulation and questioning God. While I am not a soldier or Mormon, the struggles and blessings mentioned are human and God divine. I can relate to all of this during and after the death of my first wife to cancer. we all question God when dark times hit, but as long as we put God first, things will dramatically improve in short order. Thank you for this trie story of faith, hardship, and love of family.

Miracles and Tender Mercies

What a raw and real yet wonderfully encouraging book about one man's journey living wiith profound disability. There is great honesty in what this means and how true sustenance and hope to endure comes in faith jn the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are in a difficult season of life when all seems lost and the future looks bleak then this book is for you. A great read!

Astounding story of faith

The saying “all gave some and some gave all” repeatedly came to mind as I read this book.
So first I’d like to thank the author and his family for his unbelievable sacrifice for his country.
Truly humbling.
Second I’m grateful for the gift of perspective I gained reading it. There is truly always something to be grateful for—no matter what the circumstances. This book is an incredible reminder of that. Great read!

An interesting look at a soldier, bedridden, and how he perseveres with God's help

Well written with a bedrock of faith. I can't imagine what David continues to go thru and he's writing books. I'm impressed and humbled by his story. Well worth the read.

Faith abounds!

This book made me rethink my faith. It is so easy to complain about our circumstances but this story has convicted me, especially knowing what the author faces daily. As I have been facing some difficult things I'm hoping my perspective changes as this author's has.
