In a Southern Garden: Twelve Months of Plants and Observations by Carol Bishop Hipps (Macmillan USA 1994)(712.6) is a year's worth of journal entries broken down by month by a North Alabama writer who does herself and the genre proud with this volume. She writes in the vein of Allan Lacy and Henry Mitchell. I'll look for more of her work. My rating: 7/10, finished 4/22/11.
